We really wanted to buy as much craft beer as we could find and Howdy Doody did not disappoint. Why and how did we end up there? We called ahead and ordered a few meals from Mr. Chopsticks so we could eat on when we got home the next day. After we went through the drive thru, we parked and walked over to Howdy Doody to check out their selection. For a small store, their selection of craft beer is amazing!!! Definitely wasn't expecting the amount that they had! We checked out the "craft beer" store near UNT and their selection was disappointing in comparison. If you want craft beer, go to Howdy Doody!

Howdy Doody is a pretty rad convenience store (sans gas pumps) in our neighborhood. They have craft…read moreand local beers in cans and bottles, and a pretty great selection, too. Their beer prices are kind of high - for craft can 6 packs, we usually pay $10. That said, the prices are pretty comparable to the beer prices at Midway, and Howdy Doody is easier to get in and out of. They don't always have what I am looking for, but they always have something that I like (something I cannot say for the nearby 7-11) when it comes to beer. PokéStop next door at Chopsticks, and a gym across the street at the doctor's office. The employees here are always pretty chill - no one is particularly friendly and I've never seen an employee out from behind the counter, but they are always nice, fast, and get the job done without issue. Overall, if I have the time, I go elsewhere for beer, but only because of the price. Otherwise, this is a neat little c-store in a great location.

The Denton Community Market is a wonderful staple in Denton. There are local vendors, food trucks,…read morefresh vegetables, live music, booths specifically for pets, and so much more. We used to live right across the street and it was a breeze to walk over. We live further away now and have to drive - which can sometimes be troublesome - but if you get there before 10am there is usually street parking very close by. If you arrive towards the end of the market you will likely have trouble finding parking and need to walk from the central square. I have to give them 5 stars because they are an incredible addition to Denton, but I will say that I wish they would switch up the vendors more often. Every time I go it seems that the same people are there, selling the same things. If you're just visiting from out of town or are only coming once a season, it's awesome. If you want to go every weekend, it gets repetitive. Regardless, the community market is amazing and I would tell everyone to visit!!

I recommend parking in the lot across the street as opposed to street parking. The sheer amount of vendors is overwhelming and I really love to support local, but I almost feel guilty because there are more vendors than my wallet can afford to support! There is something for everyone though! I love the farmers market aspect of it, lots of fruits, veggies and homemade items. You'll also find honey, sauces, candies and of course there are food trucks and stands. We had some amazing agua fresca on our last visit! There are also about a dozen booths for those of you with a green thumb! Tons of plants and flowers to purchase and some sell seeds, I believe. This is a pet friendly market with a shaded table and water bowls for you to bring your furry friends. Some pets are friendlier than others, but I've never seen anything to be worried about. I wouldn't bring any pets that aren't calm around other animals though. There are several booths with natural, organic and gluten free goodies for your pets. We got a few this last time from two booths and our dogs inhaled them. Lots of fun specialty flavors to be found, and I learned that chewing on chicken feet are apparently great for a dogs teeth. Who knew? There's also a lot for the shopaholic and those who like interesting pieces for your home decor. I saw a few booths that do jewelry, clothing, bags and quilts. I want to take a closer look at the blacksmithing, knife making, pottery and wood work. I was excited to even have those as options! Prices will vary based on the vendor and products, but with so much to explore you're guaranteed a good time! Generally the market hours are every Saturday, April through November from 9am until 1pm. However, there are currently summer hours through Labor Day of 8am to 12pm. Plan accordingly!
