I've tried their Crispy Brussel sprouts and had friends try their catfish fingers, Avenue burger, and their nachos. The food is good and cooked decent. I especially enjoyed the catfish, the interior design, and the Happy Hour music. Customer service is great! I'm not 100% sure about parking because I carpooled there but it seems parking can be tricky depending on the time of day. Overall I'd recommend!

I haven't been in quite some time but my most recent visit reminded me how much I love the Avenue! Some friends wanted to meet up on a Monday for karaoke. Definitely not my jam, but I came along for support! Love the chill vibes! They do late night happy hour starting at 8 pm. Woot! The drinks were flowing and everyone had a great time. They were out of brussel sprouts that day. That just means I need to come back sooner than later.

A Fiend gave me a birthday dinner with friends and family at the Avenue Kitchen...the food was delish& drinks amazing the Owner gifted a bottle of his best champagne.. live music was so I enjoyable and the band sung personalized happy birthday song too. Love the night

So I've been to Avenue a couple of times and the food has always been great. The drinks are more of a hit or miss though. Margaritas are solid here. I've ordered other cocktails during past visited and they weren't well mixed. This visit, I had the Round em Up Mule and I really only tasted lime juice, barely any whiskey and no ginger beer. Food wise, I ordered the Brussel sprouts and the brisket breakfast burrito. Both were delicious! Service was great and our food came quickly. Also, certain nights, there's a dj there but this most recent visit, even though there was no dj, the music the restaurant was playing was fire. Definitely a solid option.

Inside the restaurant you have to walk down a steep ramp to check in. It appears very dark and divided. I can see the jazz club vibe. We opted to dine outside. The couches and crates were cute for open air seating and people watching. There was only one server and she did her best to be attentive to all three tables. I ordered the bbq wings and the brussel sprouts. The wings were excellent. I wish there was something more added to the brussel sprouts. A glaze or onion would have been a nice compliment. I did try a bite of my brothers bread pudding French toast which was truly the best bite. My other brother thoroughly enjoyed his chicken and waffles and quickly determined there was enough on the plate to take home for a second meal. I'm open to trying out more of the menu

Visited this popular spot to check out the Happy Hour Menu. Truffle fries needed to be brought back out due to them being regular fries, but definitely delivered on that turn around! Caesar salad dressing and Parmesan Cheese came plentiful for my salad and the fried chicken batter was seasoned perfectly! I ordered a Whiskey Ginger Mule I believe, and it was delicious, no complaints ever on the bartenders. All of them do superb jobs when it comes to the drink menu. Avenue is a tried and true spot where you know you'll get great service, good music, and always make a new friend @ the bar.

Very relaxed and welcoming restaurant with inviting decor. Walking in was great and our large party arrived early but was seated quickly. Drinks and food came out pretty quickly and both were tasty. I started with a strawberry lemonade crush and crab dip. The crush was perfect but the dip was a bit too creamy and need some old bay and hot sauce to improve the taste. My main dish was the fried chicken salad that was pretty big and the chicken was perfect. I enjoyed the avocado and eggs that made it very hearty. Service was a bit lagged and we had to find our server to then request her to come over for additional drinks and needed condiments. Everyone else enjoyed their meal and had leftovers to take home. Would come back because of the food and aesthetics.

We got here when it opened and were able to sit anywhere's . We had a pitcher of white sangria which was very good. We had chili wings for appetizer. The omelette was filled with perfectly cooked shrimp and crab meat. My wife had the shrimp and grits. The service was great. We were able to order our food right away. Our waiter was very pleasant and attended to our needs. Our entree came out as we finished our appetizers. Great background music. We would definitely come again.

i went for brunch on a sunday. it is quite dark, especially during the day (in contrast to the outdoors). it was not busy when i arrived and the service was very fast and pleasant. i ordered the chicken and waffles and the home fries and spent about 40 bucks including tip. The chicken and waffles were really well cooked and tasty, but for the price point i would expect real maple syrup rather than the fake stuff. the home fries were seasoned well and complimented my sweet dish nicely. i would probably go back, but i would prefer somewhere with more bang for my buck.

Went here Saturday for brunch. I'll definitely be back!! The food was absolutely delicious, and with the beautiful weather, outdoor seating felt both comfortable and inviting. The staff was attentive from the moment we arrived, and we savored every minute of our bottomless mimosas. A perfect way to spend the weekend.

It was good experience. The waiter really knew the menu to help us decide. She also came back to check on us several times. I had the crab cake which was a great choice very delicious. Everyone else enjoyed their food as well. It's a really nice setup they have inside seating, an outside seating area and a bar area.

Avenue Kitchen and Bar exceeded my expectations for the "Moo Moo and Margaritas" brunch event! From the moment we were seated to the last sip of margarita, the vibe was festive and fun. The food was delicious. It took a bit longer than usual to arrive, likely due to how busy the event was, but everything we ordered came out fresh and flavorful. The drinks were the star of the show. The margaritas were strong and tasty. The live dj added so much to the experience. We loved the energy that it brought to the event. I really hope that they host this event again! I'm curious to check out some of their other events. This was easily one of my favorite weekend experiences that I've had in a while.

The service was excellent. Customer service is the best here. Parking is bad of course Hamden area. Restaurant plays some good music. Nice crowd. The food was seasoned very well. I would go again. If you in area check them out.

Inexplicably, my food was colder than my orange crush cocktail. Service was very slow even though they were not busy.

I turned back around to photograph the signage, while my party headed to the bar exit door. I have never been splashed in the face during the shaking of a drink that was being made by the bartender. The bartender was of a different race and seemed annoyed by my presence from the jump. I had been splashed in the face twice until a customer of his race came and sat next to me. I did pay attention to his behavior while the woman was seated next to me and his drink mixing wasn't as aggressive. I had to go to the bathroom during my visit and told him I would pay before going to the bathroom so he wouldn't make any assumptions about me. I asked him to keep my drink behind the bar because the woman was still seated next to me. I came back and the woman eventually left. I was still finishing my drink and I was splashed 2 additional times. The last time I made him aware of what he was doing. His apology was disingenuous and passive aggressive. I left after this even though I had intentions on ordering desert and listening to the musicians that were about to get started. I did inform the manager about my experience prior to leaving. I'm leaving the review bc the experience still bothers me. If they have cameras at the bar I'm sure my reaction to the splashing can be observed.

The gentlemen who answered the phone was so kind, and was able to squeeze us in on the fly on a Saturday night, and they weren't slow. Got there super early because I was already in the area, and my wife and I decided to have an old fashioned and an espresso martini at the bar while we waited and they were excellent. The ambiance was upscale but still managed to be relaxed and comfortable. We had a lovely dinner, the waiter was busy but was still attentive and patient. Our whole experience was awesome, so we were already going back in the future. Yesterday I realized a mistake on my bank account from the bar charge, so I called around 6 pm and spoke to the same gentlemen as before. He got all my info and promised he'd call back in 5 minutes. I didn't really expect 5 minutes because I know how crazy the dinner rush would be at an Italian restaurant with a Wednesday wine special. Not even 3 minutes later he called back, and explained what happened, fixed it and I got a follow up text immediately letting us know the refund was already in process. Now, I've been in the service industry and I was a bartender, so I understand that I'm going to be a little biased here but from beginning to end Benny's went above and beyond. They clearly appreciate their customers and love their work, it shows.
