I'm sad to say this bagel shop left me wanting more. I gave it a couple of tries, and on my first visit it wasn't bad but it was nothing to write home about - decent bagel and tasty veggie cream cheese. Unfortunately today's visit missed the mark entirely - my whole wheat everything with veggie cream cheese seemed so skimpy and sad! I asked for toasted and I could tell that it was but only for a hot second, leaving most of the bagel cold and definitely not warm and toasty to the point where it gets the cream cheese all melty. Maybe it was the lackluster toasting that made it seem chewier than usual but it just did not taste fresh, it was bland and hard to chew. The veggie cream cheese I enjoyed the first time was desperately lacking in veggies, I actually thought I may have gotten plain cream cheese but no, there were a couple of pepper specks but again, very bland. Check out for yourself in the picture, and honestly maybe this bagel is just fine and I'm just spoiled by the big and hearty bagels of Brooklyn! This is the last time we go to this place. Ordered 2 egg sandwiches today and SPECIFICALLY asked them to make sure the eggs were scrambled (because they never are) and I don't even think they tried. The yolks were just short of runny. This is not the first time and we have been way more than forgiving! One time we called in our order and again... SPECIFICALLY told them we had a train to catch. We got there and our sandwiches weren't even started. Had to wait 20 minutes for them to make 5 egg sandwiches. Well... We missed our train. If you know Deer Park trains, then you know we had to wait another hour to catch the next one. They screw up my bagel EVERY TIME and this is truly mind blowing considering the fact that they specialize in bagels.... Let me start by saying that if you like the idea of having dirty money touching your food before you eat it, then this is the place for you. Without fail, the people who handle the customer's money are the same people who are touching your food whilst wearing the SAME GLOVES!! This is a health hazard! Mark my word, someone is going to get sick from this place. Oh and if you want your bagel toasted, you're going to have to go somewhere else because they won't do it for you. Ordered a Reuben sandwich from here and it was probably the most pathetic Reuben I've ever had in my entire life. I called them grieving and asking them to get something together for my aunts funeral. they gave me the run around, all different baskets all different prices! first they said they could deliver it and than 2 days later when I was expecting it to be there the manager who by the way has no clue how to deal with people says oh we dont deliver unless you order in advance....I said I did order 2 days in advance.
