The best bagels around and food is amazing and owners are great!!! The staff is on point

A better bagel? Absolutely not !!!...the bagels were meh... the egg sandwich that I waited nearly 15 minutes to get was two scrambled eggs and a slice of ham on an egg bagel. They were busy but not crazy busy and I noticed that people that ordered after me and had multiple items in their orders were getting their orders before me. That never makes a customer feel good. So I nicely went up to inquire and I was greeted with a sour face as was the same when I ordered my egg sandwich from a different employee. When I finally got the sandwich it was not hot but I took it anyway and decided to warm it up when I got home... I didn't want to be in that place one more minute!! The place looked good but it doesn't matter if the food isn't good and the service isn't good and the attitudes of the employees are not good. The better bagel better get some better attitude and customer service. I will not return. read more

This is our favorite bagel shop in the neighborhood. Their egg sandwiches can't be beat. We usually split a sausage egg and cheese but we do pepperjack cheese and add avocado and a hashbrown for good measure. They put plenty of cream cheese on their very fluffy and always fresh bagels, too. On the weekends they have amazing popovers, too! The service is always efficient and friendly and I leave very satisfied. Highly recommend. read more

I usually go here for the bagels. Their Asiago bacon egg flagel is so good. But today I tried their Italiana Uno sandwich. I'm not a mortadella fan so I subbed it out for turkey. I'm also not a ciabatta fan but I'm glad I didn't change the bread. This sandwich is soooo good. The pesto and burrata soak into the bread and make the sandwich even better. The burrata is creamy and the turkey and cappy ham were great together. I would absolutely get this again. read more

The Better Bagel - Italiana Uno with turkey instead of mortadella. - Sandwiches Near Me - Amityville, New York

The Better Bagel in Amityville is a great spot. The was beautiful and really clean inside and in the cases. I ordered two ham, egg, and cheese bagels--one with fried eggs and one with scrambled eggs, each on different bagels. First off, I was really happy they got the order exactly right, which doesn't always happen at bagel shops. Even better, the bagels were fresh and tasted amazing. Everything was hot, flavorful, and made just the way I asked. I'll definitely be coming back here again. read more

Stopped in to get a breakfast sandwich and iced coffee. I ordered a BEC on a bagel. Everything I ordered came out correct and fast, even though the line was literally out the door. After placing my order it took about 5-10 mins. They have a bunch of people taking orders. So the wait time shouldn't be extensive. read more

I went to Better Bagels today--this would've been my third visit, but it's my last. The woman behind the counter had such a bad attitude. I was still deciding on my order, so I asked if she wanted to write it down, and when I said I wanted eggs on my onion bagel, she snapped, "Okay, okay, we gotta start all over." I asked her, "Are you okay?" because the energy was so off, but she just kept going. None of the other workers stepped in either--I felt completely invisible. I won't be back--so many better spots that actually care about customers. read more

This was my first time visiting this shop. I love bagels. If I can get cheddar cheese, chicken and bacon on one, I'm in heaven. That's exactly where I went when I bit into this sandwich. We went in close to closing time after finding them online. When we got there, the staff was cleaning and wiping down the equipment and tables. But the staff was accommodating and pleasant. Besides a small snafu regarding paying an extra fee when purchasing with cash vs cards, it was a good experience. Bright. Lots of choices. Even though the shop sits in a strip small, there's plenty of parking. Prices aren't exorbitant. read more

We keep giving this place another chance, but again today I got a stale rock hard cinnamon raisin bagel with cream cheese.. I don't mind paying a fair price for a good fresh product but this is the last time they steal my money. Stay away from this place !!!! read more

My family has been coming here for years- even before they moved to a new building as it was one of our favorite places to get a bagel on LI. Now the store is chaotic, run by unfriendly staff and unhelpful management. After placing an order this morning, another customer who received a coffee without the lid being properly attached accidentally spilled SCALDING HOT coffee all over my sister, burning her arm, leg, side and feet. The staff stayed unmoving and staring until someone came to mop the floor and counter with a dry mop. Nobody offered to help my sister who was clearly burned. The owner was sitting in his office the entire time. And then our drink order was messed up because staff was distracted by the chaos. And of course when we got home, the bagel sandwiches were subpar at best, lacking the texture and flavor we used to love. Thoroughly disappointed with my experience here and probably will not be coming back. read more

Pretty bad for a New York bagel. No fluffiness at all might as well eat a grocery store bagel. But the coffee was good.

I always love when our family brings these up to us on holidays. It was great to finally come myself. This bagel shop is clearly loved by all as it was packed when we arrived. The bagels are delicious! I ordered 4 dozen as I was taking these upstate for different friends and family. I asked for one dozen assorted in each bag. One bag had 6 plain and 6 egg. That's not really assorted. I ended up having to mix the bags to get an actual assortment for each family. We also didn't get any of certain flavors even though I asked for assorted. Next time I have a large order I will write down exactly what I want before I order and share the paper with the cashier. They were quick to serve us even though we came at a busy time and had a huge order. The space was very very clean. Because of other reviews, I watched the glove usage and they were good about putting on fresh gloves after handling money. All in all, I loved my first Long Island bagel shop experience! read more

Not from the area, but stopped for a quick bite. Nice people, good quality food, fresh juices, and a nice selection. Would recommend.

Excellent selection of bagels. They are warm to piping hot almost every time I visit. I go for the plain bagels and will occasionally have a scrambled egg with bacon on a bagel. You really can't go wrong here. As a bonus, they also sell Boylans soda. read more

Love this place, some of the best bagels around. Good prepared food and sandwiches. People are friendly. We order from there damn near once every weekend. But for the love of god, at least twice a month something is forgotten, missing, or wrong. It's quite frustrating because who feels like having to drive back, wait to talk to one of the workers who are busy as hell, only to go get something dumb like the cream cheese they forgot or an egg sandwich or whatever. I dont know. I might just be whining but it's annoying. Like, I get that it's crazy busy and hectic with all the web orders but damn. read more

the egg cheese with hash brown and hot sauce on ciabatta bread was amazing. This is going to be my new local place I go to for a very excellent egg cheese sandwich. They have earned my patronage. I should have known better when I saw how filthy this place was but how could a plain bagel with butter ever be gross? I found out! A bagel with a big nasty bug in it. This store is so concerned with patrons of other businesses using their parking lot when they should be worried about their own filth! And they should be really worried about the board of health. The workers also looked miserable. read more

This place having 3 stars is a crime. This is the best bagel place on the south shore. Trust me i have tried them all. Im also no armature i owned a bagel store a while ago & ran restaurants for years. This place is legit. read more

This place is still hanging in there after being affected by two fires. It's been around for years and was my go-to bagel spot; lines stay long, especially on weekends. I can't recall having an issue as my bagel usually prepared as ordered. They do be heavy on the jelly, butter, and cream cheese. Probably why they charge so much -- a reason to give you your money's worth. Either way, it's good, but one may say there are 'better bagel' spots than this in the area. read more

I tried this place for the first time today and I will definitely be back!! The iced coffee was fresh and HUGE. The bagels here are amazing and always fresh. Everyone likes their bagels a different way so if you like light, airy and slightly dense but not too dense, this place is for you. I love that they have a discounted dozen on Wednesday's unlike other places. Some of the staff here are friendly, others, not so much; depends on who is helping you. I came in here recently and ordered two bacon, egg and cheese's. When I got home with my food and took a bite, I realized they put fried eggs. I'm not a fan of fried eggs and wasn't asked how I wanted my eggs cooked. Had I known the norm was fried eggs, I would have requested scrambled. I also ordered my mom the same and she doesn't eat fried eggs so that was wasted money that could have been prevented just by asking a simple question. I ate it anyway but at least the coffee was fresh and delicious. read more

The staff is rude. They don't know how to deal with customers. They don't communicate. Never again.

The bagels are not much different than other bagel places but definitely on the pricier side compared to other places. The service is the main problem. Every single time I have ordered and left I open my order only to fine at least one item is incorrect. How hard is it to remember if it needs cream cheese or butter? It's ultra frustrating because I have never had this issue at any other establishment period. The amount of help they have and the fact it is always crowded and a long wait makes you wonder about efficiency. I've given it multiple chances and just not a fan. read more

Love this place, every time. Love the bagels, i go for the flagel with egg over medium and American cheese. Toasted always
