Roast beef on pumpernickel bagel
Mary B.

Picked up couple of bagels and roast beef on a pumpernickel bagel... which included a side... I chose cole slaw...all good service!

Nice staff, very accommodating but it takes a long time to get your sandwich. It was Sunday afternoon, they ran out of some items and offered to substitute different items but the panini still came out wrong, it wasn't even pressed or made hot, head scratcher? My wrap was fine and had sufficient meat for the price. Be careful, there is more than one bagel place on Wellwood Avenue and it confuses lots of people, even us since we had a gift card and oops it was for the other store.

Everything Bagel with Cream Cheese

I read the mediocre reviews but still ended up eating breakfast here. Toasted everything bagel was very good. Crispy on the outside, soft on the inside. I came here early on a Saturday morning and there was no line to order. As I was eating, I noticed that the line got really long, and people started complaining because they were waiting for half an hour. I'm glad I got there when I did. Coffee was good too.

"Manually" toasted bagel with butter
Tamara G.

Mediocre bagels. I ordered an everything with cream cheese, which had a more than enough for me. I also ordered an everything toasted with butter. Took longer than it should have , just for the girl to come from the kitchen and say "I apologize for the wait, I had to "manually" toast the bagel". I didn't really question it but at the same time wondered and even said to my daughter... "manually toast the bagel? What does that even mean??" Just to get home and see what she meant was throwing it on a grill? This bagel was NOT toasted!! See pic. My daughter said it tasted burnt. I would have rather the girl say she wasn't able to toast it and I could have done it myself at home!

We picked up a half dozen assorted bagels (everything, egg everything, cinnamon raisin, and sesame) and a half pound of lox spread. The bagels were just alright - decent flavor but flat, tough, and hard to chew. The texture improved after popping them in the toaster, but they still gave our jaw muscles a workout. The spread was yummy, and we appreciated how the girl at the counter threw in some extra slices of lox for us.

When you order a bacon and cheese, apparently you have to be specific that you want more than one egg and they never put the cheese.

Dirty Torn bagel

Bought a plain bagel this morning - got it home & opened the bag and found this nasty inedible gross mess. The side of the bagel is torn and the bottom is black. You should feel ashamed you gave this to someone to eat, it looks like someone dropped it on the floor.

This is their "Extra Cream Cheese"! Definitely NOT a NY Bagel Shop!

This is their "Extra Cream Cheese"! I HATE Cheap people! I never complain about their prices or the fact that they ALWAYS Charge a credit card fee whether it's $10 or $100! The problem is there's no consistency! One employee makes this Garbage and another with make a Real New York Bagel Store Poppy Seed with Extra Cream Cheese. Most NY Bagel stores would consider this "Light on the Cream Cheese!" They don't even offer a side salad with the deli sandwiches anymore! I once ordered an egg sandwich on a croissant, instead or telling me they don't bake croissants, they took the prepackaged croissant they sell next to the chips and candy(the nasty ones the bodegas sell), and made my sandwich with that. It tasted nothing like a croissant, just fake butter and the plastic wrapper it was sitting in for weeks. There's always egg shells in the last few bites of your egg sandwich. I have yet to get a soft "Fresh Backed Bagel" from them after going here for 11 years! I only come back because my kids request them, but I'm going to bring them to a real Bagel Shop tomorrow to show them the difference! Enough is enough.

This is what they call a "Western Omelet Breakfast", my 6 year old son would have made this better. Nothing is cooked but the eggs.

I wish I can give 0 starts, this place sucks now. I'm a daily customer Monday - Friday and I'm just tired of getting to work and seeing the crap they put together. I don't know what happened to this place, but this is the last time they see my face in there. I will not be going back to this place. I hope someone new comes In and can run the place the right way. Also they never answer the phone, like get it together it's 2022

The service was fantastic; our server was very attentive with drinks and took our orders promptly. The whole family loved the food! We ordered the Huevos Rancheros, almond pancakes, cannoli French toast, eggs Benedict, a grilled cheese sandwich, and the Salvadoran platter. Everything we get here is consistently delicious, zero complaints! The drinks were great too, including the watermelon juice, regular coffee, and lattes. We couldn't be happier with the service and the food. I will always recommend My Grandmother's Kitchen for brunch!

Cozy Brunch Spot with Decadent Treats!…read more I stopped by Brownstones with a friend and we were blown away by the flavors and portions! The mocha latte and chai egg nog latte were perfectly spiced and rich - loved the festive twist on the classic latte. Food-wise, everything was a winner. The Nutella crepes were indulgent and chocolatey, the chocolate chip pancakes were a chocolate lover's dream, and the original pancakes topped with fresh fruit were absolute perfection. Speaking of which, the pancake stacks are SERIOUS - we ended up sharing and still left satisfied. Service was warm and attentive, and the atmosphere was inviting. Definitely a spot I'll return to for brunch treats and girl time with friends like Mayra and Mia!

I also like their sandwiches like BLT, and also Avocado toast. They also have seasonal dishes which you should definitely try! This time, I tried their seasonal french toast bites which was a peanut butter and chocolate French toast bites, and was delicious! The portion is big so it's definitely sharable. This brunch place gets pretty crowded and they don't take reservations so I would recommend you going in the morning when there is less crowds. If you haven't tried this place yet, you should definitely try!!

However, once we finished eating, our plates were taken away and we were immediately asked to pay the bill, while other customers around us were still seated and talking without being rushed. The treatment felt inconsistent and uncomfortable. Additionally, when I paid using Apple Pay, another server was telling the manager to "check their license" to make sure it matched the Apple Pay due to "fraudulent cards." I have used Apple Pay at many establishments and have never been asked to provide identification in this manner. The interaction felt unnecessary and made me feel singled out. To make matters worse, my chicken was still pink inside. I chose not to complain at the time because I did not want to create an issue, but looking back, the overall experience was disappointing. I hope management reviews how situations like this are handled so all customers feel equally respected and comfortable.

Brixton - Babylon, NY…read more My friend and I visited Brixton on Christmas Eve and had a wonderful experience. The small plates were thoughtfully prepared, the cocktails were creative and well balanced, and the staff was attentive and clearly hardworking. These are one of the tougher reviews to make. It is easy to be enveloped by the plethora of great…read morerestaurants in the competitive nature that is NYC, but when you venture all the way out here to Babylon, NY, you have to change that mindset a bit. The Brixton is a beautiful restaurant with very relaxed and casual vibes. The word around town is that their drinks are awesome. What about their food, though? They originally would not seat us in the middle of the afternoon because most of the empty tables were reserved. We had to request to sit outside, which was empty, before they decided to serve us. Odd that they did not even offer that to us. The General Tso' Cauliflower was the only great thing served to us. It is incredibly crispy and flavorful. You almost forgot that you were eating a piece of vegetable at times. The Short Rib Brisket Sesame burger was shocking. $18 for two White Castles-sized sliders. It was easily consumed, and I was left much to be desired. This is most definitely an appetizer item, not an entree. The Chicken Waffle was good. Nicely deep-fried and packs a lot of flavor. The waffle looked dubious. If I had to guess, it might not be mad fresh to order. Essentially, it's 3 drumsticks/wings over a possibly frozen Eggo waffle. I would recommend a second dish if you are looking to get full. The Steak frites and Eggs Benedict were the final dishes served. It is hard to mess these dishes up, but the ribeye was nicely seasoned and cut up. The dishes were nicely displayed. Overall, this is just an OK experience. When the deep-fried cauliflower appetizer is the most memorable dish here, it is quite alarming. Portion sizes are on the small end, and none of the flavors for the entrees really stuck out. Perhaps I will come here strictly for the drinks next time.
