This was my first time coming to this Aveda Store in the Glendale Galleria, and it certainly won't be my last! Parking: Plentiful parking at the Glendale Galleria. Location: Second level (towards JC Penny), next to the Adidas Store. I came here to redeem my belated Birthday Freebie: 30ml (1oz) Bottle of Composition Oil (Retailed Value $3.75). This oil can be used for various purposes (see picture). They had four versions to choose from (One specifically formulated for just Men, Shampure, Stress-Fix, and Beautifying). I chose the latter since I love the combination of rosemary, lavender and bergamot scents. Furthermore, rosemary is the primary ingredient, which is great for improving scalp circulation and helps boost hair growth and thickness. Service: Upon entrance, I was greeted by staffer Amy W., who had offered me a sample of their Comforting Tea, which was delicious. Consisting of peppermint and licorice root, it tasted sweet and comforting (like a warm and plushy blanket wrapped around you). After my first sip, Amy asked if I needed assistance with any of the Aveda products before leaving me alone to browse the rest of the products. I liked that she wasn't pushy with trying to get me to buy unnecessary things or following me around the store. I did ask about the Composition Oils and she led me over to the cashier counter to explain each bottle's purpose and to see which bottle I would be interested in choosing. After that, I was browsing around the store. I was also able to redeem my double points coupon (part of the Pure Privilege Rewards Program). In addition, I also received a free Aveda Wooden Paddle Brush as part of my $65+ purchase of any Aveda products. I ended up purchasing another set of Invati Advanced Hair Care System. The store was having a 33% off all products and so I jumped at the chance. Staffer Amy W. commented that I made a huge killing in the store that day and hehe, yes, ma'am! I've been using the Invati Advanced Hair Care System for at least two months now and I definitely feel the difference in my hair. Not only does my hair look darker, it feels thicker too! There's also less breakage when combing my hair and less hair appearing in the drain after showering, yay! I also loved how fluid the shampoo and conditioner are. My hair doesn't feel tangled at all while showering. The smell is lovely and fantastic too! Lastly, the Scalp Revitalizer spray doesn't make my scalp itchy and/or irritated, and I loved how it tingles and cools on my scalp after massaging it in for about 5 minutes. I'm super excited to see how my hair progresses as I continue using this hair care system. Ambience and Décor: The store looks clean, spacious and aesthetically pleasing. I loved the service the teas the coupon codes so I can order products online the samples and the way I was treated and given respect and attention to my needs like a million bucks sadly times have changed and so have the workers. I was a victim of discrimination at this store by a sales associate named kaitilin platinum blonde with bangs . I'm a regular at the California shopping centers and I'm known as a purchaser and browser depending on if i get my moneys worth ! I've never shoplifted or had a criminal record of any sort so my attorneys can attest to that. I also have a severe medical disability I have severe diabetes and always carry a beverage with me because of my diabetes . I'm blind in one eye which is why I always wear sunglasses because I have a eye disease which I don't need to disclose to employees due to hippa. I walked in and a very verbally passive aggressive sales associate said how may I help you ? I said I'm having a break through acne on my face I'd like a complimentary skin consultation the sign outside says I can get "20 minutes mini facial "no where does the sign state online scheduling only !! she first seemed okay as I was sitting down looking at the mirror , Then as she saw me she must have recognized me as the eccentric shopper browser . She said I can't help you I need to assist other customers . I said mam with all due respect there are no other customers it was around 7:45 pm literally . It was only me in the store She got super irritated rolled her eyes and said you know what next time schedule an appointment I said there is no sign that says schedule appointments only other workers have helped assist me I knew this was a personal attack on me and discrimination based on all appearance. There is no one else here then she went on another tangent and started rambling about the past started saying you know we've seen you around at this store a dozen times before asking for services i said really you realize I only browsed in maybe 3 times since 2019 since the pandemic and I was a active customer purchasing online this time it was for skin services !! Regardless I had a right to be at the store seeking services I said no I haven't had a service here for skin ever not even before the pandemic she said even said yes but true you have been here before I said when 7 months ago she said maybe I said okay so what ?! but I never had a skin service done she agreed! I said no your mistaken I had not been at that Glendale galleria in over 7 months . She said I came into the store dozens of times browsing around minding my own business months ago I didn't realize that was a crime and that I was being shopper profiled. There are many Caucasian girls that look like me she said NO it was you GUARANTEED she said I am eccentric I'm the only shopper in the whole galleria that always bring "bags wear sunglasses and beverage "due to my disability which is shopper profiling I was very offended.!! She pretty much said and assumed I'm" poor and a "weirdo" and was discriminating me based on appearance being oblivious that I have a disability! I still gave her the benefit of the doubt even after she tried to have me rudely leave the store store. I was even willing to forgive her and ask if we can have a neutralized civilized apologetic misunderstanding conflict resolution approach . Because I like the store and just because she did a terrible thing doesn't mean I shouldn't have the right to still enter the store and seek services . I told my friend this situation I had called my friend on my cell phone at the galleria and told her the situation she then agreed I was definitely discriminated she called the store since her vocal chords are totally different then mine and she has a a strong upper side accent as I left immediately she put me on 3 way on the phone called the aveda store and Kaitlin picked up right away and said "aveda Kaitlin speaking how may I help you " my friend asked her "Kaitlin"if she can come in for a scalp assessment for dry shampoo usage a scalp consultation with a camera 20 minutes she said sure come on in !!! But I'll be closing in 50 minutes you have time ! I was for sure "discriminated " she never told my friend she needs to schedule a appointment so she was willing to help my friend with a walk in !! I reported this situation to corporate they are very well aware . I'm very upset with this sales associate . Im ideally planning on filing a lawsuit and suing the associate or store for violation and discrimination for Americans with disabilities act verbal abuse and emotional distress and shopper profiling . I actually filed a pending law suit and hired a attorney who deals with customer consumer protection and it is under investigation at this time!! I was feeling kind of down one day so I decided to claim my Aveda Birthday gift as a pick-me-up. Great decision because the DE-STRESSING treatment--and complimentary Aveda composition oil--I received really revived my mood. Century City closed down and Beverly Center isn't really worth the time to return, so Glendale wins not only due to default-and free parking-but for also having the nicest staff on hand. Kellie was extremely helpful when I had an issue with two products that weren't satisfactory, and she made quite an effort to make sure I left with new items that I would be happy with in the long run. Most of the items have samples available, so I'd advise to ask for them before purchasing a full-size bottle. Similar to Kiehl's sampling policy, but better products overall. I LOVE Aveda products and this store is an added plus to that. I was not much of a make-up person growing up but when I made the decision to start wearing more of it, I wanted something that was light, would not damage my skin by clogging my pores and putting a lot of chemicals into it, and had a store where I could get face-to-face contact and not just buy online. MAC was not an option for me, although it was popular, it just seemed to heavy on the skin. Aveda had reasonable prices and they gave back to the environment, along with being made with natural ingredients. Not only did it feel good on my skin, but it felt good to buy from them. Their point system is an added plus with each purchase. I feel like I'm getting one-step closer to the ultimate trip that made every purchase worth while. The customer service at the store is extremely helpful. I feel like the staff is always very knowledgeable and they make sure that you purchase something that you are completely satisfied with. They definitely know their makeup and the Aveda product and are willing to make suggestions based on what you're looking for. I have always left this store feeling satisfied with my purchase and feeling like I was properly catered to. Other than Sephora, Aveda is my "go to". I just wish there were more stores around for me to shop at. read more

I have been an Aveda customer for many years. However, I mainly purchased their hair product line and body lotion, until this weekend when I met their amazing sales manager, Kellie. I was checking out some of the new gift set and noticed a product line that I wasn't familiar with. When I asked Kellie what the product was, she generously offered to give me a facial. The experience was such a treat that I felt like I was in a spa. Kellie first inquired about my skincare routine, and then she hand picked up a few products based on my preference and my skin type. Since I have rosacea, she chose items that are suitable for my sensitive skin. Kellie then gently applied each product with care; the aroma is so pleasing that I felt like I was being pampered in a beauty salon. Kellie also took the time to explain the uniqueness of each product. My skin felt so rejuvenated after her treatment that I am so excited to finally have found a product line that not only has natural ingredients, but also makes my skin glow while I experience the amazing aroma throughout the entire customer journey. The young lady (red head) said I had to make an appointment. Though the sign did not state by appointment only. Being that I was the only person in the store I was very surprised. I've heard so many great things about Aveda & had never tried it before. I went into this location and Elyse helped me. I used "helped" very lightly as all she did was just point across the store when I asked if aveda offered a purple shampoo/conditioner & she wouldn't even come out from behind the register to show me which one even though there was no other customers in the store. Because of this, it took me a while to find the right product and 2 people got in front of me in line. Elyse talked to each of them for about 15 minutes at the register even though they just each got one mini product. She took her sweet time chit chatting with customers, not being mindful of other customers in line and that we had to wait 30 mins to be checked out. She needs to be more aware of time she's spending chatting and more helpful rather than just considering the one customer. read more

Because I'm going green and trying to use all natural products, Aveda is the perfect place for me to get my girly side pampered with no guilty conscience of polluting myself or the environment. They've got EVERYTHING from hair care (shampoos, conditioners, treatments, hairsprays, gels, etc) to skin care, make up, and "pure-fume" (made with essential oils instead of skanky chemicals). Now, I didn't exactly buy anything this particular time, but the salesperson, Cora I believe her name was, was still very accommodating to my friend and me. She even gave us a complimentary sensory ritual where she helped us determine our chakras and personal pure-fumes (mine was wisdom...yay me!) and followed it up with an amazing shoulder/neck/scalp massage!!(Note: That was part of the experience, she didn't just get really friendly or something.) Seriously, sephora should do that for all the make up I buy there. I already own several of Aveda's products and Cora made sure that I was on their mailing list so that when new products were introduced, I could come in and get free samples. Awesome! I like Aveda. I came in knowing what I wanted, and this woman was so pushy trying to up-sell me, but all she really did was upset me! When someone comes in, familiar with the line, knowing the exact products they want, there's no need to implement hard-sale tactics. Seriously. This isn't a used car dealership, it's Aveda! I won't return to this particular store, but I can't take off anymore stars because it was clean, well laid out, and I've been using the products for 10+ years. This Aveda is awesome! I've been coming here ever since I was a kid. They always give out their delicious complimentary tea and they generally have great service. The prices are a bit high but then again what can you expect, the store has never been cheap. But I always check online because they do give away free samples! And if you're a regular customer they send free offers in the mail on occasion. The birthday free product is the best! You can choose the customized bath salts, body wash, lotions, etc. I also really love the hair product serum for frizz. It's $32 a bottle but it's worth it. I've been buying the product for about ten years now and it leaves my hair shiny and smelling good. I would recommend this store for anyone who wants hair products for dry, brittle hair. They also sell cosmetics and lotions! They have some really awesome hand cream! read more

Aveda products are wonderful. I have thick hair that I grow my hair out to donate to "Locks of Love", so I only get it cut once every 1-2 years. Because of that, it can get dry and my ends get damaged. and Aveda products help keep it as healthy as possible. I especially love their Smooth Infusion shampoo and style prep, along with their Damage Repair Intensive Restructuring Conditioner. I am also obsessed with their Hand Relief Cream. I have been to a few Aveda stores and this one is especially awesome. The people who work there are super friendly and helpful. The size is large for an Aveda store (especially after they relocated from another location in the mall). The store is well organized and clean. And, the products are always in stock. read more

Aveda was currently advertising bold and bright hair dye colors for salon processing in their store, and I inquired about the products. Hip, hip, hooray for Amy at the Glendale Galleria Aveda Store. I walked into the store on 3 May 2017 about 7:45PM, and after a minute or two Amy walked out and greeted me. I told Amy about my problem (i.e. hyperpigmentation around my eyes) and she told me about two products that do well in combating/minimizing this problem. One product was Tulasara Wedding Masque Eye Overnight for around the eyes and the second product was Tulasara Bright (TB) for all-over coverage. Inasmuch as the difference in price was only $2, I purchased TB. I don't know if it was just "in my head" or if I "willed it so", but I seemed to noticed a difference the very next morning. Although slight, it "seemed" that the area around my eyes looked lighter and my skin felt "refreshed". Now maybe this was also due to the fact that I purchased the Botanical Kinetics Hydrating Treatment Lotion (BKHTL), too. Amy suggested this as a follow-up to the TB. In addition, she told me that I can put a sunscreen on top of the BKHTL, which was a win-win for me as I burn very quickly without sun protection and/or a hat. So, with BT and BKHTL in hand, I thought, "I better stop here, though I would love to shop for more AVEDA products." The last item Amy sold me on was AVEDA's Lip Saver. OMG, what a difference it's made for my lips. I have tried for years to find a product that helps my dry lips. EOS, doesn't do it. Carmex, doesn't do it. Chapstick, no way. Burt's Bees, doesn't do it. Finally, AVEDA's Lip Saver, has been a nice, welcome relief to my very dry lips. Finally, I have to give Amy props because she was kind and generous with a few samples that she gave to me--God Bless her!! It's rare to meet a beauty consultant (in my experience) who not only knows the product, is confident and comfortable talking with customers, and is personable. While I would love to say, "I'll be back again", I unfortunately live too far to make the Glendale Aveda store my go-to spot for the products.
