Stayed in a suite in the main hotel. There is a lodge part where guests can also stay.
Postives: The air conditioning worked well. The mountain views were beautiful from this room in particular and the hotel is a sweet and quaint place to stay. Very comfortable bed. Breakfast offered the next morning. great bagels.
Negatives: There were an excessive amount of bees outside of our room. Bees were coming INSIDE our room, one was dead when we got there, and 2 were killed by my husband within the first 10 mins of us being there. (and no, we did not have the windows/doors open)
This is probably an easy problem to rectify and for the safety of the guests, i think its important to get this taken care of.
Also the lack of mirrors in the room was sorta odd, a small one in the bathroom was the only one, and a full length one would've been useful.
Lastly, and probably most importantly - Upgrades were offered to the guests staying in the lodge to move over to the main hotel for the same price they were paying at the lodge, but upgrades were not offered to those already staying at the main hotel, who would've paid more for their rooms than those at the lodge. Not sure why management would have it so the guests who paid more for their rooms, would end up with a smaller and therefore more expensive room than those who opted for the lodge.
That being said, an upgrade was eventually awarded to us, but only after we called and inquired about it.
I believe this is a huge oversight by management, and is not the proper way to run a hotel and something for the Apple Tree Inn to keep in mind going forward.
I would recommend this hotel but attention to details does make a difference, thus- i could only award them 3 stars. read more
