The only reason I'm even giving this a three star is the reception I receive from the staff and the drinks themselves. I do not recommend this place as a peaceful, relaxing environment. The temperature in the shop was uncomfortably warm, and when I asked about the AC, I was told it was out of service. That's the second time I've been told that in a two week period. If you're going to offer people a calm, work friendly environment, AC is sorta a necessity instead of the fans they use to just continuously blow hot air in my direction. read more

Today my son had set his drink from Ava down next to his aunt and his mother at the park, and a man walked up, sat down, and took his drink and began to drink it. My fiancee confronted him and asked if he had taken our son's drink and he smirked and sarcastically asked if she wanted it back. She told him no, and asked if he enjoyed being a dick and taking drinks from children that other people had paid for, to which he replied "yeah, I guess I do". Our son couldn't understand why the man would do that. How do you tell a kid that some people are just mean? My sister-in-law, not able to stand the injustice of it and my son's disappointment, went back to this coffee shop and got him another Italian soda. I had a business meeting here. The place was fairly busy for a mid-afternoon Tuesday meeting. Given the heat wave we're having now, I was thankful we were inside. The person I was with got a raspberry italian soda and I had an iced coffee. Based on the look of her drink, that won't be something I try. My coffee was fine. The pastry counter looked very enticing. I look forward to going back to try the cannoli. It was pretty expensive and busy. Came here on a Sunday to work on a homework assignment since the Beaverton library was closed at the time. I knew they offered free wi-fi so that was a plus. It was somewhat crowded but I was able to snag a window table with an outlet nearby. I was here for several hours at least and during the whole time there was always a line and a constant flow of guests. The employees worked pretty hard to keep everyone moving. I got a raspberry italian soda ($3.70) which was not very good, not very flavorful, and a turkey an cranberry sandwich on sourdough ($7.95) which was good, but I would have liked to have more ingredients on it. I believe it was just meat, cheese, lettuce and cranberry sauce which is exactly what I ordered but it was somewhat disappointing. I still enjoyed both things though for what they were. The four star rating speaks mostly to the whole experience. The inside is very warm and friendly (as well were the staff) and there is nice outside seating as well. They had two water fountains on either side of the building that were fun to watch and get distracted by. This place is always packed. As a 24/7 coffeehouse with free wifi, it's one of the very, very few places near Beaverton or Hillsboro that will cater to cramming students, kids breaking curfew, and other late night get-togethers. They sell a variety of desserts and sandwiches, but both the food and drinks are way overpriced compared to other coffee shops. Nonetheless, the iced coffee will do the job, and they have a good variety of teas (the jasmine pearl is good). The actual parking lot is cramped, but you can park in the bank's parking lot across the street after 5pm. read more

Review still stands. Noisy, and lately, obnoxious as hell (not even an expensive headset can drown out the childish atmosphere, noise, or bad live music that is supposed to be soothing?). The WiFi is a HUGE disappointment so no longer go. I will be on the net just fine until a few hours later and then I can't get on the Internet no way, no how even though others are and I was doing fine earlier. We are both techs and have run the gammit of troubleshooting, having them recycle the router - nothing. Getting work done on my computer is much the reason I go, so why bother? I have screaming speed at home, and can brew better coffee. This is a good place to study if you can't in a dead silent library. I've only been here when there wasn't live music so I was pretty productive. The music they have playing can be a tad loud. They offer free wifi which is nice with some outlets. I've only had the tea here and let's be frank, you can't really mess up that badly on tea. I have yet to try the food. Having a coffee house option is just an excellent addition to the highly residential area. I love that there is fast Wifi here, pretty fast on the 5 Ghz with 2.13 mbps download and 3.41mbps upload. The SPANISH CREAM LATTE is delicious with a nice aroma of coffee liquor (according to the barista) but I think its just coffee syrup to increase the coffee flavor. The SERVICE was not the best. The female barista that helped up obviously was not very engaged and didn't really want to be there. First when I order "for here" she gave me a paper cup. I had to ask for a ceramic cup. My bf had brought his own cup and there was left over coffee and she didn't bother pouring that out and rinsing it. I asked but she didn't hear. I just gave up. My latte was good, but done sloppy. I recently moved here, and was going through some seriously withdrawals from my old coffee stomping ground. I happened upon this place after walking back from a farmer's market one day. I fell in love! It has free wi-fi, live music and incredibly delicious pastries. I have yet to try a sandwich, but I've heard those are yummy too. I've been a consistent customer here for several years since moving to this neighborhood. I really love their mochas, though definitely on the pricier side. Most of the staff are friendly, especially during the week. Unfortunately today I had a very negative experience on my pickup order with an unfriendly and rude staff person (woman) that actually mocked me to another customer also picking up an order! Ava Roasteria is obviously a coffee place, and even though I'm a tea drinker, they do have a few loose leaf teas that I'm happy with. It's a nice place. . .very pleasant atmosphere, and very spacious. I didn't try any of their food, but they do have made-to-order sandwiches and salads, plus pastries and desserts. There is a small parking lot in front too, but considering the capacity of the restaurant, the parking lot probably fills up fast when it's busy. Plenty of street parking in the area though. I'm impressed that they stay open until 3:00am! So with such late hours, free wifi, coffee, tea, and all kinds of food, this is a great place to sit and relax for awhile. read more

Ava is my favorite local (Beaverton) coffee shop to plug in and get some work done. They have free, fast Wifi, and lots of tables inside and out, with outlets handy. It's also open 24 hours a day. Not to mention that their coffee is insanely good. The baristas take their time creating the perfect cuppa joe, and for that I thank them. The atmosphere is classy, comfortable, and nice to look at. The bright, clean interior was nice if only there had been a spot like this in Evanston when I was in school or in Kendall Square when my husband was in school as opposed to the rather dingy spots we both studied at. Come here a few afternoons a week to grab an ice coffee or cold brew. I prefer coming here than going to Starbucks where the coffee is almost always burnt. The coffee here has great flavor and is consistently great. I have had the veggie sandwich as well which was delicious and a good portion for the price. Although it is a bit more expensive here than any corporate chain, I'd still pick Ava any day. Ambience is nice, appreciate the ash trays on the tables outside and the abundant amount of outdoor and indoor seating. Never have a problem finding a table or outlet to charge my devices. Great ambiance. New Progress Ridge location is excellent in terms of setting. Very good sandwiches for a nice lunch. Was (and continue to be) shocked by the lazy service. I have come in several times to find every vacant table covered in dirty plates and dishes, resulting in no place to sit, and several lazy, gossiping high school girls behind the counter displaying very little in terms of customer service and pretending not to notice that every table was covered in filth. Glad I found this place which is 24/7! I ordered the campfire drink with dark chocolate ! It was on their old menu, but I was still able to order it. It was perfectly sweet, but not too sweet. The dark chocolate was savory, but not at all bitter. I'm all about those leaf designs and they made it. Also got a chocolate macaroon and it was to die for. All of their desserts looked amazing but my diet only told me to get one soo.....the macaroon one called my name.
