I'm sooo disappointed! I had this place starred on Google because I read about it in one of my Oregon travel magazines. I had just spent over an hour at the Social Security office and this place was literally 2 minutes away. All I wanted was a little peace and chai latte. Is that so much to ask? I have been using Grub Hub for 4 years and this is the best coffee place I have ever had. The turkey sandwich was amazing. The best turkey sandwich I have ever had. The cafe is next to Beaverton City Library, so that when I'm don't studying at the library, I can head to Ava for more study time with tea and sweets. This place is always packed. As a 24/7 coffeehouse with free wifi, it's one of the very, very few places near Beaverton or Hillsboro that will cater to cramming students, kids breaking curfew, and other late night get-togethers. They sell a variety of desserts and sandwiches, but both the food and drinks are way overpriced compared to other coffee shops. Nonetheless, the iced coffee will do the job, and they have a good variety of teas (the jasmine pearl is good). This is a good place to study if you can't in a dead silent library. I've only been here when there wasn't live music so I was pretty productive. The music they have playing can be a tad loud. They offer free wifi which is nice with some outlets. I've only had the tea here and let's be frank, you can't really mess up that badly on tea. I have yet to try the food. Having a coffee house option is just an excellent addition to the highly residential area. I love that there is fast Wifi here, pretty fast on the 5 Ghz with 2.13 mbps download and 3.41mbps upload. Great for those who work from home and want to change the scene. The drip coffee is a little water down. The SPANISH CREAM LATTE is delicious with a nice aroma of coffee liquor (according to the barista) but I think its just coffee syrup to increase the coffee flavor. The SERVICE was not the best. The female barista that helped up obviously was not very engaged and didn't really want to be there. First when I order "for here" she gave me a paper cup. I had to ask for a ceramic cup. My bf had brought his own cup and there was left over coffee and she didn't bother pouring that out and rinsing it. I asked but she didn't hear. I just gave up. My latte was good, but done sloppy. Ava Roasteria is obviously a coffee place, and even though I'm a tea drinker, they do have a few loose leaf teas that I'm happy with. It's a nice place. . .very pleasant atmosphere, and very spacious. I didn't try any of their food, but they do have made-to-order sandwiches and salads, plus pastries and desserts. There is a small parking lot in front too, but considering the capacity of the restaurant, the parking lot probably fills up fast when it's busy. Plenty of street parking in the area though. I recently moved here, and was going through some seriously withdrawals from my old coffee stomping ground. I happened upon this place after walking back from a farmer's market one day. Come here a few afternoons a week to grab an ice coffee or cold brew. I prefer coming here than going to Starbucks where the coffee is almost always burnt. The coffee here has great flavor and is consistently great. I have had the veggie sandwich as well which was delicious and a good portion for the price. Although it is a bit more expensive here than any corporate chain, I'd still pick Ava any day. Ambience is nice, appreciate the ash trays on the tables outside and the abundant amount of outdoor and indoor seating. Never have a problem finding a table or outlet to charge my devices. Ava has been in this location longer than 3 years (my first coffee was 3 years ago) and they have never disappointed me. Pros: Good coffee flavors, as a person who always drink mocha I would say that they have very good white/ black mocha. Good location (it is surrounded by tons of good restaurants), GOOD DESSERTS as well. Their cakes and muffins are always fresh and tasty. Very nice and relaxing view to help the people who want to study staying focus. Cons: Little spots of parking (street parking), not good Italian sodas and non-smoking inside. Not to mention that their coffee is insanely good. The baristas take their time creating the perfect cuppa joe, and for that I thank them. The atmosphere is classy, comfortable, and nice to look at. Ava has become my go to place to study and work. Lots of indoor and outdoor seating with many outlets available and a wide range of open hours. Parking can be a little difficult since there is no dedicated lot. I have loved all the cakes, tarts, and strudels I have had here. Haven't tried the sandwiches yet since the food is a bit pricy for my frugal self. Glad I found this place which is 24/7! I ordered the campfire drink with dark chocolate ! It was on their old menu, but I was still able to order it. It was perfectly sweet, but not too sweet. The dark chocolate was savory, but not at all bitter. I'm all about those leaf designs and they made it. Also got a chocolate macaroon and it was to die for. One of my go to places for coffee when I'm in the area. The fact that is open 24 hrs comes in handy as well. If you like dark chocolate their dark chocolate mocha is quite good, I order with half the chocolate though However I think place has gone down hill a bit, hence the 3 star rating. I was there the other day and they told me they were out of chai. "It was back ordered". It had been this way for several days they shared. Great ambiance. New Progress Ridge location is excellent in terms of setting. Very good sandwiches for a nice lunch. Was (and continue to be) shocked by the lazy service. I have come in several times to find every vacant table covered in dirty plates and dishes, resulting in no place to sit, and several lazy, gossiping high school girls behind the counter displaying very little in terms of customer service and pretending not to notice that every table was covered in filth. Torn on this place. 3rd order from here. 2 delivery, one in person pick up. The coffee, regular coffee or mochas are pretty good. The dark chocolate mocha is so far my favorite. This order was delivered 2 coffees and a dozen assorted cookies. We got 11 cookies, one white triangle cookie short. Either the place screwed up or the driver ate one. Shrug, cookies were cheap. The cookies were all very soft. The thumb prints are usually my favorite, the middle didn't taste like anything other than sweet generic jelly no ohh this is raspberry or strawberry. At least they weren't super sweet. The chocolate we're also very soft, very much for a chocolate lover but really way too sweet for me. The triangle were more firm but still soft (a good balance) and held together well with all the powder sugar when bit. Weren't exciting but ok not something I'd buy on their own. As assortment probably a good combo. I have had better cookies at bakeries so if this place is trying to push as great bakery and coffee ehhh I'd give an OK bakery and good doctored coffee. If I want real Italian great coffee and pastry I go to Piazza Italia or Caffe Umbria they know how to make an expresso macchiato and I can drink their coffee without sugar and flavor in to mask the bitterness. We'll probably still now and again get mochas here but definitely not sandwiches again, a chance might try a different cookies or dessert especially if get delivery but 90% of time we'll grab Black Rock or Human Bean coffees first.
