For years, this AutoZone was my go-to for parts and supplies--both personal vehicles and my small business fleet. I spent roughly $1,100-$1,900 monthly at this location. In my last visit, I purchased roughly $600 in light bulbs. Three packages arrived tampered with--the bulbs had been swapped before being restocked. I returned those three packages to exchange them for the correct items, totaling roughly $25 in returns. Apparently this raised a red flag with the new Store Manager, Brandon, who accused me of being the person who swapped the bulbs. This is completely false. Instead of investigating or addressing this directly with me, Brandon banned me from the store--and I didn't even find out from him. I learned about the ban from two part-time employees. The District Manager has yet to follow up or explain what triggered the accusation or decision. Years of loyalty and thousands in business mean nothing when management doesn't communicate professionally or investigate before punishing a customer. I will not be returning. read more

If they don't have the part you need they will search for other stores in the area and you can either pick it up there or they will deliver it to that store for later pick up. Everybody I dealt with there is very friendly and ready to help. They usually have enough staff so you don't have to wait very long for help and to check out. My wife and I were driving home (Gilbert) from our weekend trip to Flagstaff. We accidentally pulled off on the wrong exit and ended up on thunderbird. At our first stop light since leaving flag, our check engine light came on in addition to being unable to accelerate. We were able to idle into a parking lot to start looking up diagnostics before realizing autozone was 100 yards away. We were initially assisted by a nice man who ran a diagnostics test. He recommended a few things to try which unfortunately did not work leaving us stranded about an hour from home. I began filling out my information for road side assistance through my insurance app when another employee, Vicky, came over to help us. I don't know why or what made Vicky come over to help us as she had seen we were already assisted. She asked a couple questions about what happened but I wasn't hopeful based on the diagnostic test results. Right as I was about to click submit for roadside assistance, Vicky said "oh you guys owe me big time" with a smile on her face. She had texted her friend who was a mobile mechanic and came to the store in less than 10 minutes. This was all on a Sunday afternoon where every mechanic around us was closed or unwilling to help until later in the week. Andre Lavoie (602) 577-3457 was able to work on our car right in the lot, find AND fix our problem. He saved us hours of waiting for a tow truck and even more time/money if we would have had to go to a mechanic. We are beyond thankful for Vicky's kindness and willingness to help. She went out of her way to help us when she easily could have kept to herself, continued helping other customers, or just said "sorry, we can't help you". She's the angel on thunderbird and we're beyond grateful for her service. Vicky, we know you haven't named your Jeep, so we're recommending Angel! read more

Ladies and gentlemen, do you ever walk in to a AutoZone confused? Stressed? And the worst thing is feeling clueless? If your answer is yes to any one of the questions then you have came to the right place. Nathan and John took the time to ask me questions of the vehicle. When I was unsure Nathan went out there to check the car. Also they both explain what I needed. I never once felt embarrassed for asking questions. In fact I was even told "you will never learn if you don't ask." Which honestly made me feel so much better for asking my questions. Went in the other day to exchange an oil filter wrench I purchased at another location for a different one. Online said it was in stock and available for curbside pickup so we drove to this location specifically. Was assisted by Roger who was rude from The beginning and seemed put off to go the extra step to help us. Also seemed annoyed that we presented the item to exchange when we were done shopping. Was told to "Next time bring the return immediately to the front because there is a lot of theft". Never had this issue before but ok. Once we were being rung up he immediately started to flat out return the item and didn't explain why he couldn't exchange it. When we kept pressing him why he barked back that the "system wasn't letting him". Ok fine - but explain this calmly. Needless to say no need for such a hostile experience. Also worth noting, almost no associates inside were wearing masks. Only one associate had a mask on. read more

I went here to get some supplies for a tune up. I got home opened my plugs to find they were the wrong plugs. I saw the employee select my right car on the computer, so she must have picked the wrong product from the shelf. I packed them up and took them back to the store. As soon as I walked up to the counter, the employee was telling me that she didn't have enough cash to give me a refund. I paid with a debit card, so the employee said she could only give me cash. Cash she didn't have. She told me to go to another Autozone. So, they sold me the wrong plugs, and it is now my responsibility to drive around and find a store that has cash. What a horrible store. I have an old Mercedes that is going to take a ton to maintain. It is Phoenix. There are plenty of auto parts stores. read more

"OK Car Battery, but great service" Had my battery changed. This is the 3rd battery I have gotten from them. The first lasted 2.5 years and the warranty allowed me a free replacement. The second lasted 3.5 years, but I was able to receive a prorated discount. Manager helped me with the battery insert and even with all the corrosion on the screws and nuts he was able to eventually put it on. Friendly service. read more

The "Check Engine" light and another icon in my 2015 Nissan Versa Note lit up on my dashboard last evening at a huge intersection. I couldn't accelerate, but moved at 3 m.p.h. with my flashers on. Fortunately, I made it to an AutoZone close by. Chris ordered a battery for me, and Ron installed it in the rain this morning, both happy to help me out. Since it's Chrismas Eve, I feel blessed that Auto Zone is ubiquitous in Phoenix, with many employees who help turn an "emergency" into a pleasant experience. read more

I really hate going to places like this, but if I have to go, Auto Zone is my top choice. They have car parts of every shape, size and color and the staff is extremely helpful. You can tell them what kind of car you have when you get there and let them know what you need and they can use their computer to look it up for you. They will either show you right where it is on their shelf or if they don't have it, they will order it for you. They will also recommend products for you and they will sometimes help you install said product if it's an easy job. An employee put a battery in my friend's car for her even. Talk about service! If you bring in your old car battery when you are ready to buy a new one, you'll get $10 off your purchase too. read more
