I have had several amazing experiences with Kevin and the group at Grunion Fabrication over the course of several rather oddball projects. The first project that he tackled for me was the design and installation of a roll cage that was designed for SCCA and NASA club racing and track days in a Volkswagen Scirocco. Kevin did an amazing job of doing the research ahead of time to build a cage that not only exceeded the rules, but fit very tightly inside the car to allow clear and easy access between the A-pillars and the entry way of the door bars. The work was top-notch, the welds were amazingly done and the price was fantastic. The second job that Grunion Fabrication did for me was on converting my car to a full air ride setup. The vehicle in-question is a 1989 Volkswagen (seeing a pattern here?) Syncro Tristar Double Cab, which is a very difficult vehicle to convert from traditional coil springs and struts to bags. He had to build custom mounts for the air bags and do the measuring and verification of the shock mount, and was able to do some really amazing work to hide the compressors and the lines. He also built and entirely custom set of bumpers, sliders and an expedition rack onto the vehicle. When it was completed, he went out of his way to provide me with storage of the vehicle while my mechanic was tied up. All in all, they are a great company that I would highly reccomend to anyone who is looking for a company that has tremendous attention to detail and only uses the best parts. I've been a customer of Grunion since the beginning of 2006 and I would have to say that I've always had good to excellent service. As a fulltime fabricator I tend to notice a lot of DIY customizers get into projects way over their head. And instead of blaming their workmanship they blame the company that provided the part. I recommend getting it done right the first time. Although it's fun to work on your own cars leave the fabricating to the professionals. This is what they're paid to do. They were very helpful in the beginning, not sure what happened afterwards. The initial contact with this company was nothing but promising vibes. After a few other email/phone call exchanges, total opposite. So the husband and I ordered some air bags from this particular distributor, we received the orders in a timely fashion, what failed us, is that there were two defective/damaged goods. The way it was packaged couldn't lead us to think it was the delivering process. Must've been the company itself. Husband contacted them to explain, one guy was helpful and said they were to send another one to us and have us ship back the damaged one. We called to do a follow up since we haven't received the replacement after. Week or so and someone with poor customer care service didn't bother to assist in any way and just had a nasty attitude about it. Finally got the replacement, sent off the first one. They received it and apparently it wasn't a warranty issue. So this is where it gets more upsetting, for the second damaged air bag. WE as consumers have to take the loss in having THEIR products replaced due to the poor packaging on their end. Not exactly sure how they do business but obviously they might be doing very well that they don't care if this is upsetting a potential long term customer. Nonetheless, business will not be conducted with them in the future. There are other companies who appreciate business and has good customer service. read more

Worst customer service I have experienced in a long time. Apparently business must be pretty good, where they don't want to waste their time helping you purchase the correct items for your project. No big deal for me, there are other local places to buy air bag parts and line. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else, so you don't waste your time like I did. read more

One of my Viair air compressors had an issue - I thought it should be warranty - Grunion took it apart and found that it had been full of water- at some point I must have backed my boat trailer to far into the lake. They were extremely helpful and had the parts needed in stock to repair it. Win!! read more

So I contacted Grunion in regards to some performance socks. They sent a link to the order page after spending extensive time explaining to me the process in which they are made and why different weaves are used in different places on the pair of socks. It was amazing. He also mentioned that they were made in America which made me feel good. I am new to performance cycling and I was looking for a pair of socks. Horrible customer service. Over priced restocking fees. Not a lot of knowledge on products they sell. Will not buy from this site again.

I ordered (4) slam air bags online and (2) of the (4) came damaged. Grunion has replaced (1) of the (2) damaged airbags but has left me hanging on replacing the 2nd airbag. I've been nothing but nice and patient with them and have been left on the back burner. Not sure if I will continue doing business with Grunion. I wonder if the Grunion staff would be happy if they were in my position. If you pay full price to order something, you would think you should get a non damaged product. So hard to do good business now a days. Someone is always trying to get over on someone else. read more

Bought shocks from Grunion and they wound up letting go after two weeks. They will not take them back and issue new ones instead they told me I have to contact the manufacturer. I reminded them that they were just two weeks old and that I purchased them at Grinion and expected them to warranty the items they sold. I will never buy from them again. read more

I ordered a 4" dropped axle. It came while I was working out of town, several weeks passed. I was test fitting the spindles and noticed slop in the kingpins. I put a mic on the holes to find they were 11 thousands over the kingpin size of .812. I emailed several times to ask what the normal size of the bore was and never got an answer. I then went through ebay as that's where I purchased the axle. I received an immediate response. They wanted to know what spindle I was using. How stupid is that . If they knew anything they should know the spindle has nothing to do with an oversize kingpin hole. Then they said I received the exact axle I ordered. I then informed them that I did not ,but that was not the issue. This seemed to get their attention. They sent me a drilled axle at a cost of 369.00 and I paid 248 for a solid axle. ( now on sale for 224 as they must have realized their selling defective axles) Now they wanted a picture. I tried to send a pic ,but being somewhat computer illiterate the pic did not go through. I am certainly capable of seeing a series of 1" holes drilled through the axle. All of a sudden their description of the axle I ordered changed. I think someone has a problem with having to be right. all I wanted to know was the standard size of the kingpin hole . I will bore and sleeve it and they can kiss my a## and I will do business with local reputable companies read more

Started out great,fare price included shipping and fast delivery.1 inch lowering spring was 2 1/4 inch lower than the stock spring from same manufacturer. I bought both sets from grunion sent pics of the car carefully showing the difference in installed height. Purchased intem thru EBay but Ebay is little help as well at getting resolution. Grunion refused to acknowledge the discrepancy and and likes to refer to there "returns" policy as there authority. They agreed to a refund and to wave 20% restocking fee, but insist I pay return shipping on a part clearly not performing as described. they still will not acknowledge the issue and accused me of have a non stock car. They have never seen the car in person to make such a statement but have seen the pics of my very stock car????? The return shipping cost on my end is not worth the time and cost on my part over a 110 dollar purchase. They have lost another customer over a simple fix especially after I bought two sets from them. after the 1" lowering spring was to low I did my part to make sure I and the car was not wrong and purchased the stock set before asking for refund including shipping. Just my opinion but the customer ate it on this one . I have a set of one inch lowering springs for a 55 chevy that will lower your car two and a quarter inches lower than a new stock spring. I have been building and modifying cars for over 30 years and understand clearly how these things work or don't. This time it's a no brainier and Grunion won't own up. read more
