Battery Buyer BEWARE! I would highly recommend to avoid buying batteries from AutoZone due to their ridiculous warranty policy. I purchased a battery with an extenda warranty and upgraded gold status that failed after just 2 1/2 years, then it was prorated and up sold a platinum battery with a four year warranty, which has now failed after only 18 months. Taking the battery back to the store to exchange because it had a four year warranty. I was told that the warranty off of the new battery doesn't matter because the warranty only matters from the original battery purchase date?? What that means is they sell you a battery and then warranty it continue to give you bad batteries that have no warranty, therefore after... Buy once cry once so spend a little more at a more reputable place like Napa or your local service shop or even Costco for that matter and avoid the ridiculousness of them, not honoring warranties on batteries that are garbage to begin with! read more

This review isn't as much for AutoZone as it is for the landscapers that they hired to clean their parking lot. This morning I just spent $25 washing my truck with the goal afterwards of spending money at AutoZone in order to wipe down the interior and shine the tires. The landscapes proceeded to blow dust and trash and dirt all over my truck following my wash, even though I waited for them to stop and let me drive past once I was in the lot and they proceeded to blow all the debris towards my truck which ultimately led me to take my business elsewhere. The lack of common sense here is astounding. My goal was not to slow them down. I just want to make my vehicle nice. My entire wash now seems like a waste of time and this hour and a half out of my day. I will not get back. I feel like this is a really easy fix the people paying these guys need to educate them on common sense, or have them get their work done before the store opens. read more

Decided it was time to exchange battery. New car battery was still good, but in Arizona, average battery life is 2 years. If you hear the click click, it's a sure sign your battery is cooked. Called AutoZone, they had the battery and it was a bit cheaper than the other auto parts store that did not have the battery. AutoZone doesn't usually install if it takes 30 minutes, but was told to come in and they could check it out. Zach was the person to see when I got in the store. Battery guarantee was 3 years. Wonderful and surprisingly delightful. My car has started overheating and I needed to get a new radiator cap to see if that was the issue. While I was there I decided to rent a Coolant Pressure kit in case it wasn't the radiator cap. The crew working there (Nick, Spencer & 2 other gentlemen, sorry I forgot your names) were absolutely delightful. You can tell they really like their jobs. I took my car there because my battery wasn't working well. The tech came out and used the diagnostic tool to determine if I needed a new battery. Matthew was great he looked me up in the computer and apparently I had purchased my battery and a warranty on my last visit. Matthew installed a new battery at no charge. I called on Saturday Morning around 8 to get an ignition cassette for my car. I was told they did not have it in stock and would order it from the Hub. They said it would be in around 3. I called around 4pm to see if it had arrived and was told to check back after 7. I called again and the gentleman who answered the phone scolded me for calling too much. He said they would call me when it came in. Sunday morning around 830 I called again to see if it would be in today, or if I needed to make other arrangements. The gentleman on the phone said "You called 10 times yesterday it's not here" I told him that it was supposed to be there yesterday to which he replied "F#%@ off!", and hung up the phone. I have had problems with Autozone stores in the past, but this truly takes the cake. read more

Keith is the friggin best!!!! He's very knowledgeable and kind. Last night my battery light came on. I went to an autozone on my side of town before work. They were not friendly and it seemed like it was a task helping me. I asked one kid where the jumper cables were and he just pointed and said there lol I was like where ? And he just said over there and I had to just search for myself because I didn't know where "there" was (I'm going to leave them a bad review after what happened next) The machine said my battery was bad but it was at 94%. I asked if I should take it to a shop and he said no it should be fine you won't get stranded. And he didn't know why the machine said bad battery. I'm driving to work and then all my lights turn on. So I told myself I should drive to a different one. I made it to this location and Keith came to the rescue. My battery is actually at 49% and my alternator is more than likely messed up. Keith explained to me the issue in a way I could understand and then he asks me to start the car. Then I go to start it AND IT DOESNT START. He checks the voltage on both the battery and alternator and it's extremely low and losing as I step on the gas Luckily Keith was very helpful and there's a shop behind this autozone. He walked me over and spoke to the guy there and asked if they could help me out. They were able to get me in asap and Keith helped me purchase an alternator. Keith went above and beyond and I'm grateful my car broke down at this autozone. read more

Wait till you hear our experience here today! We took a battery in to replace it. We were unlucky enough to have Cara "assist" us. She asked us for our phone number to look us up in their system. I asked if there was still any time left on the warranty for the old battery? Cara said "no, it expired last year". I looked at the screen and said "that can't be right. It says we bought it in 2007....the car is a 2012." She said "that's what it says." I told her it didn't make sense that we'd bought it in 2007 when the car didn't even exist then. Why would we buy a battery for a car 5 years before we OWNED the car?" Again, she shrugged her shoulders and said "that's what it says." Wow....impressive, no? It occurred to us (not HER, who works there every day) that maybe it was listed under another number for us. Using a different phone number, she located the correct battery (which showed a 2014 purchase) and said "there might be some warranty left on it" and then, said nothing else at all! I asked well, how we could find out??? She was then prompted to look it up and said yes, it was still under warranty. Our experience with Cara was the worst I've ever seen here. We like this Auto Zone but Cara has zero interest in assisting customers and came across as unmotivated and uninspired. If it said something in the computer, well, that was it; Cara couldn't think beyond that on her own. Still shaking my head over her insisting that we'd bought this battery 5 years before the car was even manufactured because "that's what it says (in the computer)." Really??? read more

Terrible customer service!! Doesn't even deserve 1 Star today 8/24/2020! I waited in line for over 10 minutes watching the staff chat about their weekend. After announcing that we (me and several other customers) were waiting for assistance and to check out the staff turned and said be with you in a minute and turned back to their leisure conversation. After 5 more minutes I left and decided to call to see if they were open for customers or were the employees just going to continue their weekend catch up huddle. If there is one thing in this world I hate, are fricking know-it-alls!! I ordered a fuel pump from Autozone in west covina, not that long ago, IT FAILED ON THE WAY TO PHOENIX AZ this new years "weekend". Where to start...... I called the store I usually deal with here in Pasadena, He gave me this Autozone's phone number, and told me that they handled commercial accounts, and had the fuel pump in stock. I called, and Tara answered the phone....EXTREMELY NICE GIRL!!! THANK YOU FOR YOU HELP!! (hence the one star). Granted this autozone is damn near 25 miles away from where we were staying, and my buddy drove me over there. When we got there, Tara was really quick to help us out...but then...out of nowhere, comes this "commercial Manager" I think his name was Tom....I told him of the problem I was having, and telling him that this was the second time THEIR fuel pump had failed... what it was doing, was not marking correctly how much gas my truck had....I filled up the tank with 80 dollars, and it told me that I had 6 miles to empty....we would start to drive, and maybe 15 minutes later...it would shoot up to half a tank, then....5 more minutes, it would shoot all the way up to full! HERE'S WHERE IT GOT DICEY, THE FIRST THING HE DID, WAS SAY TO ME..."OH, THE FUEL PUMP IS GOOD, ITS PUMPING FUEL RIGHT? "yes" THEN THE PROBLEM IS YOUR TRUCK, ITS NOT READING THE SENDING UNIT ON THE FUEL PUMP!! CHECK YOU WIRING, OR TAKE IT TO A CERTIFIED 12 VOLT SPECIALIST!! HELLO!! WTF DO YOU THINK I AM!!! I DO 12 VOLT FOR A LIVING BUDDY!! DAMN NEAR 15 YEARS!!! So I started to explain to this know it all, that its not the first time it has happened, it happened once before, and logically, its not possible...my OEM fuel pump failed, because the pump went out.....not the fuel pump sending unit.. Whats happening here, is that Autozone is selling 2nd hand products, I am never buying from them again...and as for Mr. Know it all...my buddy, who was with me, is a 28 year mechanic, I have been a 12 volt installer for 15 years....next time, just shut the hell up and sell me what I need. I understand you want to stand behind your company, but I wasn't there to argue with you, I was there to get my damn truck fixed so I could come back to California.... Just a quick update, both of the fuel pumps, that i bought from autozone, came apart inside my gas tank....the first one, came out in 4 pieces, the second one came out in 2....what kind of crap are the selling over there....if this pump fails, I think a lawsuit is in order, I can't be dropping my gas tank every 6 months because of this crap!!!
