Victor was great last night. Took me in at 5 pm because my splash shield underneath my car was ripped off with all the flooding in Scottsdale. Fixed me right up and I was out of there in no time great service!! read more

They try to take advantage of people that don't know cars much here . Took our car in for a $300 repair that we prior diagnosed, We are picking up the car right now. Hopefully they didn't do nothing to it to make it run bad it was running perfectly fine when we took it in. We just took it in for a change of sensor then they're telling us to replace the whole manifold. Beware here. We will also update and let everybody know how their car is running to see if they do stuff like that. read more

After 3 more touch up visits, It is still not fixed. At the last visit they sent it out to a more specialized place for a week and even paid for a rental during the time. I ended up still in the same place. Every time they assured me everything is fixed and I will have no more problem with the coolant cycle. It leaked again after my 10 mile commute to work. They charged a lot of money and it is still not fixed and I have no money to bring it somewhere else. They burned through a full tank of gas as well and got it back to me on reserve. I can not say that they don't give it an effort but I expect to get it fixed after a first second try for the ridiculous amount they charged for just the coolant cycle. This place is absolutely not recommended. read more

Amazing customer service, we called in the morning and they had us bring it in and fixed it same day at a cheaper price than the other places we took it. They also quoted us a price that turned out to be more expensive and they took a loss and honored the quote price! Jason was so accommodating and helpful, would recommend them to anyone looking for excellent customer service and great prices. read more

I went to Sun Devil in Scottsdale on San Victor for a simple oil change. Regular price is 49.99 but I had a coupon for 39.99. The man at the counter was going to charge me 5.00 for an oil filter because I needed a special kind for my 2010 Ford Fusion. So the total would be close to 50.00 for my oil change. Sounded like a bait and switch to me so I walked out. Been going there for years but no more. I've heard stories about Sun Devil before and was warned about this place but I never had a bad experience there until today. So beware Folks read more

this place is no good, poor customer service, uninformed employees, and just rude. my wife went in there for an oil change with a coupon and by the time she called me i could tell by her voice she was flustered. she doesn't fluster easy, they didn't accept the coupon, and I'm actually glad cause after I spoke to kurt, I could tell he's very much hes an "I'm right, customer is always wrong" type dude. not saying customer is always right, but he needs some customer service classes or something. glad they didn't touch my car and we will gladly take our business elsewhere, its no wonder why they only have 3 stars. read more

I was receiving a check engine light and the windshield wipers weren't working. Sun Devil Auto quoted $1400 to replace the computer. I refused the service and took my vehicle to the Ford dealership. They fixed it for $250 with no replacement parts. It's been working great. read more

Well to start things off... horrible service! The prices there are outrageous. I needed my engine checked for the exhaust leak in there by a guy named Justin. He was absolutely horrible.. and to top it off, he's having an affair with my wife! He said, "That night I knew I found my soulmate." I am outraged. To say the least, I am never coming back! read more

TERRIBLE! Came her a month ago to get an overheating issue fixed. Paid nearly a grand for that and the problem continued. Took it in today and they tried to charge 195 for a diagnostic that WOULDNT GET WAIVED WITH SERVICE. what a scam. do not come here save your money and time read more

All I have to say is this location consists of a bunch of hustlers!! They told me I needed brakes and rotors after an oil change. One guy told me I had 1-2 mil left on my brake pads. When I called back to confirm, they told my over the phone that I was touching the metal (never said in person) and they said I 100% needed rotors which would have cost 1200 total with pads, rotors and labors. SO glad I got a second opinion from brake masters who said I did NOT need rotors and I made it just in time. My husband was going to get his oil change here but we will definitely not be back. Don't waste your time, energy or money at this place. read more

Ripped off for $1070. Check engine light on. Truck brought there on 3 different days for a total of 24 hours. Check engine light never went off. Horrible diagnostic skills. Replaced wrong parts. Went to another mechanic issue fixed in 1 hour for an additional $500. Spoke with manager Bill who blamed their incompetence on me and lied. I told them on 2 occasions the brakes were getting hard to apply. All 3 times I picked up the truck after they had it for 8 hours the check engine light came on again quickly. They said they test drove it which was a lie. My safety was compromised due to their incompetence. read more

Hello to everyone reading this.  I cannot give this company enough credit for their professionalism and care for their customers. We live in San Antonio and were in Scottsdale to visit our son. As were saying goodbye to our son, we noticed  a good size puddle under our Jeep.  We reached out to Sun Devil Auto in Scottsdale and they immediately stepped up to help!  4 hours later, we were set to head home when we were ready. Thank you so much to the team; Beau, Justin and Jonathan Lathrop! You all are the best!  THANK YOU AGAIN FOR YOUR HELP! read more

I was very happy with the service I received here. I had a oil change and filter done along with a inspection. It was fast and friendly. I place is nice and clean. And everyone I met was friendly giving you warm feeling. read more

WARNING: Don't allow this shop to complete any repairs on your vehicle - they are just looking to take your money! I spent $1,000's of dollars here, got taken advantage of, and lied to. This is a long story I'll try to shorten up: I brought my vehicle in 6 months ago because it was vibrating a little at freeway speeds and more when I'm braking - they GUESSED it was my front brakes & rotors. After replacing those and a leaky axle part I still felt the same vibrating that prompted me to bring it in initially. They drove it two separate times and told me they didn't feel the vibrating and everything on the car looks great. Additionally, there was a squeaking in the front end they just told me "I'm not sure what it causing that and we couldn't find the issue but we think it might be the struts/mounts, the only way for us to know is by actually replacing them". I didn't replace them because they didn't even know for sure that's what the problem was Forward to months later, my two front tires that only had 30,000 miles on them are shredded and wearing incorrectly. I bring the car back to Sun Devil and tell them there is DEFINITELY still something wrong since my tires wore out in half their expected mileage. They proceed to tell me my front bushings need to be replaced and my rear brakes and rotors also needed to be replaced. After the bushings were replaced, the squeaking and vibrating in the front end that had been going on for 6 months was completely resolved - that was the issue the whole time but was not properly diagnosed so I proceeded to ruin tires because of the lack of properly educated mechanics. Had the bushings been diagnosed and replaced when the vehicle was first brought in it would have saved me a couple thousand dollars. I had a brake warranty so declined for Sun Devil to replace the brakes and rotors. When I brought it to the other shop, they informed me I had 7mm of brake pad on the rear brakes and my rotors looked perfect!!!! How infuriating to find out Sun Devil wanted to charge me over $400 for a service and parts I DIDN'T EVEN NEED!!! What kind of business tries to steal hard earned money from their customers? After calling the shop to complain, my significant other went to the shop to speak with the store manager who proceeded to tell us we would need to contact his boss regarding the situation. We were then given the WRONG EMAIL ADDRESS for his boss and had to call back to get the correct one. Once the email was sent to John Erickson, I received a voicemail stating he was on vacation and would get back to me upon his return Tuesday, May 9th. I STILL HAVE NOT RECEIVED A CALL FROM JOHN. My significant other and I have several friends and family members that use Sun Devil and it is very discouraging to find out we can no longer trust that this business cares about their customers - they simply care only about the paycheck. read more

0 stars. Go anywhere else! I brought my car in because my A/C wasn't blowing cold. Ben, the sales desk rep, was smug and carried an air of career criminal as I gave him my information. After the diagnosis, Ben (Winkler) called me saying there was only a leak, and he'd call back with a quote for the work. 40 minutes later, he calls back and quotes me $2250. I asked for it to be itemized and why the cost was so high since I just had a new compressor put in last summer. He now is saying I need a new compressor and a liquid line ordered from California. Once I came back in to speak with Ben and the technician (Alexander) to look over the quote breakdown, it was apparent they were trying to price gouge me. $850 for a part that costs ~$350, a fascinating 200% markup! I pointed this out and seeming to enjoy my distress, Ben and the tech go on to say he doesn't price the parts, and I swear to god, even says "also it's 3:00PM". Why does it being 3:00PM on a Tuesday mean I should pay more for parts/work that couldn't possibly be done by day end!!? Immediately after leaving, I drove down the street to the Scottsdale Sun Devil Auto location to get another quote. Listed off the part numbers from Ben's quote to the rep, and the price is down by $500! I did not use either Sun Devil Auto for my repairs and after going to another mechanic for a second opinion, found that there was NO leak, I didn't need any of the parts Ben/Alexander listed, and I just needed a recharge for the A/C system. Wouldn't trust these guys with a car, EVER. read more

Your business is terrible. I brought my car in with a simple electrical problem and you tried to tell me I needed $1800.00 in useless parts. I knew this was not the problem at all. I took my car home and disconnected my battery for one minute, reconnected, and then magically all of my dash lights reset and everything was back to normal. You have lost me as a customer forever... We were customers at Greulich's and have now found our shop for all our needs. Purchasing a car for my teenage son and came to Sun Devil for a pre-purchase inspection. John the manager is so helpful and educates you on every detail of the inspection. He runs a great shop there with honest mechanics and so incredibly helpful! Justin, the mechanic was so thorough, patient and kind. You will not be disappointed in this shop! We live in Peoria and will travel here for all of our vehicles. Thank you! Jolene Ware read more

Have been taking my cars here for oil changes for many years, can't beat having someone do your oil change for less than $20. They also rotate the tires change oil filter and do a in dept inspection which is included. The only thing they don't do is wash your car. Make an appointment and you are done is an hour. Just use your judgment what needs to get fixed because they will recommend items that can wait. Will be back again for oil change read more

Sun Devil Auto is one of the best and honest auto repair business around. We had a bad experience on the freeway my wife's 2013 Jeep Patriot's clutch went out, after dealing with what to do and where to take the car, we decided to take it to a well known auto parts and repair place, after they gave us an astronomical quote that was higher than the valued of the vehicle, and after talking to them I didn't feel to much confidence on these people. Then my wife remembered taking her car to Sun Devil Auto for rear break repair, were she dealt with John and she had a good experience there. So we took it there and the service was unmatched, the price was right, the treatment was great, and the car is like brand new... These people are great, next time you need anything done in your car, from an oil change to engine repair trust them and take it there... read more

These guys are the best! I came in for a brake inspection, and they were so friendly and helpful. Even while the shop was busy, they were attentive and made sure I knew everything about the inspection. The facility was clean and the staff was super organized. The guy at the front helping me out was awesome (sorry, I wish I could remember his name!) I will definitely come back next time! read more

I took my car because the start didn't work well and they checked a bad connection that the air conditioning filter had. The one who attended me began to argue with me that it was the freon and I told him that it was not.... That it was something badly connected. They ended up charging me almost double the price it costs elsewhere to replace the starter and the worst of all was that they took all the Freon out of my car, to want to charge me $760 more for it. Terrible service and usurers in the price. I DON'T RECOMMEND THIS PLACE AT ALL!! read more

Sun Devil Auto, no matter which location you go to in the Valley is always going to provide excellent service. I have been to 3 different shops around the Valley since I have lived in Phoenix for the last 3 years, and each time has always been met with great service, as well as prices that many other places just can't compare to. I recently went in to have my wheel bearing replaced and while most places cost roughly $400-$500, Sun Devil auto was able to provide the wheel bearing replacement as well as an oil change, tire rotation, and tail light replacements for a little under $350. If payment is also an issue, they also allow for you to pay for the services through an installment plan (Shout out to John for showing this to me). It really depends on the time, but at least everytime I have brought my car in, it has not been busy. It seems like the employees are not only courteous and friendly, but they also work pretty efficiently in making sure that you get your car back within a reasonable time frame (2-3 hours). If you don't mind waiting, they also have a TV which is nice, a lot of other shops generally have old coffee and old magazines to go off of while you wait, so it's nice that this Sun Devil Auto has a TV. If you are unsure as to whether it will be busy, rather than just dropping in, I would recommend calling ahead of time and scheduling an appointment at least a day or two in advance, and they will be more than happy to accommodate you. Overall, 5 star service with this shop, and always come in here for a tire rotation and oil change. read more

They mis diagnosed my vehicle and tried to tell me I needed 1600 bucks worth of repairs when it was something much simpler

Scheduled an appointment online for my check engine light. Went in and dropped my car off and got the receipt back with the work order and all they did was change my oil and rotate my tires and the check engine light is still on. Yes, I did agree for both but I assumed it was going to be that PLUS checking what caused my check engine light. Pie $60 for an oil change and still need to find out what's wrong with my car. Will not be bringing my car back to this location even with the convenience of it being no more than a 2 min walk away Update: added star for response from store. Ended up taking my car to Econo Lube N' Tune & Brakes right next to the Fry's and my experience with them has been nothing short but amazing. brought my car in at 4 PM on Friday before they closed at 5, got my car (with the check engine light diagnosed and fixed) the next day by 11:30 AM. You won't get that with Sun Devil Auto. read more

This is where I always took my car & have referred multiple people. Will no longer be a customer & will let everyone know the awful experience I had this morning. Jonathan was extremely disrespectful & rude this morning when I was asking questions about pricing & previous work done on my car. Proceeded to say to me - 'you keep adding on questions.' Well yes Jonathan it is your job to answer questions about my vehicle your place of work has worked on & is about to work on since you're the one working the front desk at this current time correct? Second time in less than a year my car is shaking when it breaks. Was replaced 5 or less months ago with an oil change done at this location. Carlos told me it was under warranty & did not charge me for said repairs. Carlos made no note of the break change Jonathan says. Seems like that would be an internal error made by your team & im unsure why me asking about said repairs caused Jonathan such a fuss this morning. Two weeks ago when I got my oil changed & asked them to look at the breaks Ben calls me & says you need new tires. I said I just got new tires at discount because my tires were never rotated on my last oil change AT THIS LOCATION! - which shredded them so thanks for that extra cost as well due to your shops negligence. So how could I need new tires? Ben's tone changed quickly & said it's the rotors you should just get the life of your rotors out even tho he knew the car was shaking when it breaks. I asked do I need to do the tires as well? He says no you should go back to discount you have nice tires get more of these when you need them. Great. Confusing. Drove car for two weeks shaking became intense when breaking. Called Saturday to book appt. Ben says it will be $375 WITH LABOR! I asked this morning will this be this price & am I able to apply this coupon & sent Jonathan into a tizzy with my questions about this. It's literally your job to answer my questions! Don't work the front desk if you're so bothered helping clients! Cancelled my appointment on the spot & walked out after the way Jonathan spoke to me for asking questions about MY VEHICLE. Never coming back to this location! Awful! Terrible! read more

I had a headlight bulb out in my car. I took it to Sun Devil for an estimate and was told that it was no "easy task" to change the bulb in my car. I was quoted $140 and told it takes .8 hr of labor. Since I am a 70 yr old retired female this seemed extremely expensive. I went to Mach One Automotive where the owner Greg changed the bulb in 2 minutes and only charged for the bulb-no labor! He said "I wouldn't charge labor for 2 minutes". I returned to Sun Devil to ask about the estimate and was once again quoted $140 and told that is the standard company charge!!!! Wow. That's $70 a minute. A brain surgeon would change it cheaper. I will now take my business to Mach One on Cave Creek Rd read more

My husband did not have time to fix our Jeep during this busy holiday season. He called and told them what the exact problem was and got a quote over the phone. They said they could get him in that day. Once he dropped it off we got a phone call 2 hours later with two additional problems; first problem was they overlooked that they had to take the gaskets off to make the repair and THE SECOND WAS THE FACT THAT MY JEEP WAS LIFTED AND THEY DIDNT HAVE A MECHANIC TALL ENOUGH TO WORK ON THE GAS LINE WORK!!!! This is not a joke, had to wait 2 extra days for a taller mechanic. DO NOT GO TO THIS MECANIC! They should be ashamed!! I'm not mad just extremely disappointed.
