My battery died in this heat wave and the last thing I wanted to do was go buy a new one, install it and have it not be the issue. Good thing I decided to go up to my neighborhood auto zone first! Immediately was greeted by a very friendly, sharp looking fella named Gilbert. He first away came out in this 108 degree weather to check the battery, it was bad but he still wanted to make sure the issue wasn't with the alternator so we checked that too before I bought a new battery. Turns out it was just the battery so I bought it and he quickly installed it. In and out in 20 mins. Happy customer but even happier that I met Gilbert! A+ guy!! Thanks so much! read more

Everyone at this Auto-zone was helpful when I rolled in to change out my spark plugs, but I especially wanna shout out Gilbert! This man took the time to show me how to trouble-shoot my spark plugs AND my ignition coils. I went in to buy new wiper blades for my car. I expected to pay a bit more than what I saw online, but they were both exactly the same price. $6.99 and $7.99. I asked the nice guy behind the counter if he could please test my battery because it died (leaving Renfest... Ugh!!!) several weeks back and I wanted to be safe. He did, and informed me my battery was bad, at 12.7%. Initially I was put off and a big irritated; suuuuure it's bad. I'm a girl, it's your little machine, etc. Then he suggested I check to see if the last battery had been purchased at AutoZone and there might be a warranty. Sho nuff, my battery had been purchased at Autozone! Woohoo!! Free new battery! If you bought a battery with warranty here less than three years ago and have a bad battery, you get a new one. Sweeeeet. Oh and he put my wipers on :) don't be alarmed by the location, the people inside are super nice. Much better than the O'Reilly in the HEB shopping center. read more

I went to Autozone to buy a battery, and to install it for me, since from what I read they offered that for straightforward installs. The person who helped me installed it incorrectly, with the clamp reversed so the whole battery could have come loose, but was telling me it wasn't a big deal, and I'm pretty sure he would have let me drive off that way if I didn't check. Since I wasn't doing the install, it looked like maybe the battery was the wrong size, so I asked to return it, and he said they couldn't, which seems to be a lie from the return policy on their website. Only after I went inside to ask about that did someone else come outside, immediately see the clamp was reversed, and helped get it fully installed. I suppose the experience might have been fine with another person, or another store, or more importantly without any installation help from them because it seems like it could literally be dangerous. read more
