I write to you now from the 4WP waiting room, where I continue to throw more money at 4 Wheel Parts…read moreto continually create my dream 4Runner. I've spent $12,000+ here in the past 6 weeks, and it's the most fun I've ever had spending money. I've gotten compliment after compliment on my "rig" as well as being initially offered $70,000 for my 9-year-old ride before the person realized it was just a decade old 4Runner souped up by 4 Wheel Parts Austin. Let me tell you what I appreciate most: service. You'll notice I haven't written a Yelp review in a decade, but these guys deserve it. If you've ever worked in business with a proper team dynamic, you'll recognize it too. But I'll put names to it, so you'll know who you're dealing with. -------------------------------------------------------- KIRK -------------------------------------------------------- This guy's the big deal manager and the first person I dealt with. I discussed what I wanted to do and asked if it was even possible with my setup. He helped me create a reality from my vague descriptions. Exceedingly nice to deal with and one of the most genuine and empathetic people I've recently come to be acquainted with, as I've seen through interactions with me and the occasional even more difficult customer. -------------------------------------------------------- ANDREW -------------------------------------------------------- Andrew reminds me so much of my best friend's younger brother, which is a compliment in the highest regard. He's helped to explain many things to me and has even advised me away from spending money in certain places both in-store and online that he thinks I would ultimately not be satisfied even though it would bring money in to 4WP (e.g. rock lights). I trust his recommendation as a result and have bought some latest and greatest items most wouldn't have known were about to come out and thus would've settled. -------------------------------------------------------- JOE -------------------------------------------------------- Joe is smart.... like, really smart. These guys are all so passionate about off-road vehicles that you'd think that's all there was to them. But I got to speak German with him, we shared recommendations for some of our favorite but lesser-known meals/restaurants in Austin. He's a quick-witted, honest-hearted manager that I look forward to interacting with. -------------------------------------------------------- OSCAR -------------------------------------------------------- Oscar is a man of conviction and sincerity. I only first chatted with him when my two-day install was going later into the evening. I've since spoken to him many more times but have full trust in him professionally and personally. -------------------------------------------------------- EVERYTHING ELSE -------------------------------------------------------- I don't know or recall the names of the other people to thank, as often they've been behind the scenes in the install bay. But they've worked long and hard into the evenings for me on a two-day install that might should've taken three days, but they knew how excited I was to have my ride back. -------------------------------------------------------- VENDING MACHINE -------------------------------------------------------- The most hippy-dippy out of stock overpriced hunk of metal I've witnessed. It's actually impressive how bad it is. You want Coke or Pepsi or Dr Pepper? Nope, you'll have to settle for "Cosmic Stardust" whatever that tastes like. Worst vending machine in all of Austin, "Come and see!"

When a dealership won't stand behind its own offer on paper, it raises serious concerns about transparency and professionalism. The lack of consistency and communication made the entire process feel like a waste of time. Buying or selling a vehicle should be straightforward and honest, and unfortunately that wasn't my experience here. I would recommend getting every offer in writing before making any decisions. Based on my experience, I won't be doing business with this dealership again.

Overall, i would 100% not recommend you bring your classic Mercedes to Ben's…read more My situation was truly an unfortunate one. I brought my car to Ben's for a diagnostic on June 3rd. I was assured they would do a full inspection and would let me know of any findings. I gave them some time to reach out to me, but never heard anything, so i called a couple weeks after bringing my car and was told they're still trying to find the issue. I had no problem waiting, but i was getting 0 communication. I called again for weeks and finally heard back Mid July that my car "has suffered some kind of catastrophic failure resulting in very low compression.... In any event it is going to require major engine work or replacement of the engine to get the vehicle going again." As devastating news as that was, I understand this is what professionals of 20+ years said it to be and as someone with 0 experience trusted. Once my car was ready to pick up my bill was $848, far from the $300 i was quoted. I then asked why my bill was so high & I had thought the inspection was $300. They told me due to all the testing and time, my bill came out to that. Mind you, I never once was communicated about the car needing further testing and if I could approve that. Now time passes, I look for engine replacement quotes. The person recommended in lockhart is about $15-$30k to swap & rebuild. Unfortunately, it's was too over budget for me, so I list my car for an insanely low price knowing the new owner will need to replace the engine. A lovely couple purchased my car & lord behold FIXED the engine in less than 48 hours. The new owner noticed the piston rings were stuck and got the car running again. Mind you, this is someone that learned how to work on cars from home & fixed it himself at his home garage. Not only that, they called Ben's before purchasing to get an idea of what was wrong, & Ben's told them the same issues they told me + also said that I did not want to pay for further testing on the car. Which is completely false & quite literally lost me my car, thanks to their "diagnosis". It is beyond me why these "professionals" couldn't communicate properly, all it takes is a phone call. Or properly diagnose my vintage Mercedes when this is supposed to be a speciality of theirs. Maybe it's my fault for trusting them as a mechanic.

So coming back home from work I stopped in and told them. One of the guys drove around the parking lot with me so he could hear it too. Since they were still slammed for the next couple of days, they asked if I could come back on another day. Which of course I said yes to. I've always had great service with Firestone. They've always taken good care of my car. I trust them completely. I've been coming here probably for 4/5 years now.
