After my check engine light came on and my car began overheating with RPM and speed gauge issues, I had it towed through AAA to AJ's--a shop recommended and affiliated with AAA. I explained the exact issues to the owner. A day later, he called to say the car was "all set" and claimed to have driven it himself to confirm. I picked up the car after paying $200--including a $80 charge for oil & filter (which I never would have done if I had known the price he would charge, my previous changes were ~50), $100 for "scanning," and the remainder was what was supposed to address the root of the problem (all he did was fill the coolant and that did not address the issue whatsoever). As soon as I drove off, I noticed an unusually loud sound. I pulled over to find the tailpipe completely detached and hanging off--something that was absolutely not an issue when the car was towed in. By the time I realized, the shop had closed for the day. I returned the next day (tailpipe taped on), and he blamed "natural corrosion" and "Mother Nature." Despite my car having no such problem before, he claimed it must have happened on its own during the one day he had it. He offered to pay and sent me to a muffler shop. En route, the check engine light came on again. I spent another $135 and five hours at the muffler shop, which not only fixed the tailpipe but also scanned my car for free and diagnosed a sensor issue within a matter of minutes--the likely root cause of the overheating and gauge failure from the start. I returned to AJ's, expecting accountability. Instead, he denied saying he'd pay, refused reimbursement, and only after persistent pressure, begrudgingly handed me $50. During this conversation, he actually bragged about owning a multimillion-dollar business and claimed $135 was "nothing" to him--yet refused to make it right. That evening, my car overheated again, and I ended up stranded on the highway, having to get towed AGAIN. I realized the owner or whoever had worked on the car MERELY CLEARED THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT, WITHOUT ACTUALLY ADDRESSING THE ISSUE. I later brought my car to a reputable shop, and they diagnosed and addressed the root issue. In total, I lost over $300, wasted three days, got stranded again, and had an absolutely unprofessional and careless experience. I can't speak to others' experiences, but I urge you: DO NOT bring your car here. You'll likely leave with more problems than you came in with, and deal with an arrogant owner. I couldn't care less for the owners response which I'm sure he'll do to save his reputation, but I hope this saves others from his SCAM of a business.

This is an old-school style shop with an owner who will give you a completely honest assessment of what your car needs..... and what it doesn't need. My story is mainly about Awareness, Advisement, Cost and a real recent repair that I had done to my car by this shop on my 2006 Toyota Avalon in Dec of 2022. The starter on my Vehicle wasn't working right. I brought it to Quins for a brand new replacement. As an awareness, pricing around for a 2006 Avalon Starter replacement is under 180.00. Pretty much all mechanics will "Mark" Up that price with an additional $100.00 to 200.00 dollars then tack that on to labor costs. In my case my starter replacement and labor somehow shot up to $500.00 BUCKS at Quins? After barked a while on the phone with the mechanic on that amount being ridiculous the mechanic tried to come back with another ridiculous indication that he had to go through the manifold to get to the starter. This is why one should know their car, this is because my old mechanic changed my starter many years ago before this replacement at Quins and never had to go through the manifold to get to the starter. Matter or fact he did the job right in front of me by getting it underneath. The labor on my starter was not even close to an hour not even close to 30 mins, and I got my answer on how long the job took when i calibrated my digital car clock to the exact time of the day. This is because a lot of mechanics do the job of replacing a starter by disconnecting the battery and after I reset the clock in my car it was off by only 20 mins to me indicating the real time it took to do the job. So as an Advisement, cut your overall cost by buying the part first then have Quins put it in because then you'd only be paying for the labor. Let me conclude by saying that I think the mechanic realized he got caught in a mix up and dropped the price by 100.00 bucks when normally this job should have ended as a $300.00 and under price for my job. Between a rock and a hard place I need my car for work I paid $400.00. So yeah I would recommend Quins if I had to get something fixed on my car but note they can BE VERY EXPENSIVE if they have to get the part instead of you. Most mechanics don't want the customer to come in with the part so they can mark up the price on the part, but Quins thankfully doesn't do that offering the customer a bit more savings on the bill. 1-Star Review…read more Extremely disappointing experience -- think twice before working here or trusting this shop with your vehicle. I'm writing this as a former employee who genuinely came to this shop ready to work hard and do my job. I'm a husband and father who was working to provide for my family, and I always tried to keep God first, treat people with respect, and give customers the best service I could. I showed up early, worked hard, and made sure customers were getting in and out. I wasn't hired to be somebody's personal helper or to simply agree with everything another employee said. I was hired as a mechanic, and I take pride in my work. Unfortunately, one employee, Manny, seemed to have an issue with me from the beginning. I felt like I was constantly being treated disrespectfully and expected to act like a yes-man instead of being allowed to do my job as a technician. If I disagreed with something or had a different opinion, it wasn't welcomed. What really disappointed me was management's response. Rather than hearing both sides and recognizing the work I was doing, my boss chose to take Manny's side and let me go. I actually have the text messages from my former boss confirming that Manny told him I wasn't right for what he was looking for and that he was letting me go. That's what makes this experience so frustrating. I wasn't fired because I didn't want to work. I was working. I wasn't fired because I didn't care about customers. I cared about them. I was fired because I wasn't willing to let another employee push me around or treat me like a dog. As far as my experience with Manny as a technician, I also witnessed things that concerned me. There were situations where sensors were unplugged and parts were being changed without what I considered proper diagnosis first. In my opinion, that's how customers end up paying for parts they may not have needed. A good mechanic should diagnose the problem, test the system, and then replace what's actually defective--not just throw parts at a problem. Manny also seemed unwilling to listen to another technician's opinion. Everything had to be done his way, and shortcuts seemed more important than proper diagnosis. I know the mechanic I am. I know how hard I worked. And I know the way I treated customers. Losing this job isn't what bothers me most. What bothers me is seeing a hardworking husband and father who was trying to provide for his family get thrown away because management would rather keep one employee happy than recognize another employee's hard work. I wish the owner and the shop the best, but my experience taught me that being a hardworking, respectful employee doesn't mean much if management has already chosen sides. Customers deserve proper diagnosis. Employees deserve respect. And neither should have to kiss anyone's ass to get it. 1/5 -- I would not recommend working here based on my experience, and I personally would think twice before trusting my vehicle to a shop where this is how things are handled.

I went to this auto repair shop for a vehicle inspection, and unfortunately, my experience was very disappointing. The manager/owner was rude and disrespectful. While I was waiting, I noticed the employees standing around talking and the owner even came out to ride an electric skateboard in the front of the shop, so I politely asked if the technician had finished the oil change on the car ahead of me. Instead of answering my question professionally, the manager/owner told me I could "stay or go." I found his response dismissive and unprofessional.
