Today was my first time going here and it was busy, but they were great.. I called ahead to see how long it would take for an oil change and they said about an hour. I wrote a detailed work order/plan, including a request for photos of the differential magnet, pan and gears for present condition reference (and this was done without any issue). The jobs were completed neatly, within estimated times (based on book times which I had read prior to bringing my 2013 GMC Savana van in). The price was well within normal expectations, both for the time and for the local area. I confirmed the work afterwards by examining the brake and power steering fluids, noting the work area under my hood clean and neat around the fluid storage sections. I also noted that, without asking, they filled my windshield washer fluid. Nice touch. :) I was promptly called when the job was finished and found my van doors locked when arriving, believe it or not something that too many stations fail to do. I was pleased with the work and feel lucky to have such a professional service station so close to my home.

The guy was recommended to me by a neighbors cause I had an ABS issue with my car. I called them up…read moreto see if they have a recommendation for a tow truck no answer. I live down the street so I walked up. The guy at the front desk moved beyond slow and couldn't even recommend anyone locally for a tow truck. He didn't even know what a tow truck was and he seemed lost. I know, Night Shift guys pumping gas may not know who to recommend. I got a tow after hitting google and had the car dropped off. Spoke to the owner the following day at 7. Explain the situation with my car with the ABS lights. He told me he'll look at it at some point during the day. That I just gotta give him time cause he's jammed up and to call in the afternoon to see if they had a chance to check it out. I called at 1 o'clock and a lady answer the phone told me they were just about to put the car into the bay to work on and call back in about an hour. I call back in an hour. The owner picks up and start screaming at me like a lunatic. I've never been spoken to such a way in all my years working customer service and dealing with the public; he was screaming at me so much my boss could hear him over the phone and we were looking at each other horrified. Like I told him I understand you jammed up I was just told by the young lady you were bringing into the bay in an hour ago and call and see if you figure out what the issue was. I can't get off the phone. He would not let me get off the phone screaming at me for over a five minutes and how they still did it look at the issue on the car yet. I called him back later in the day as I'm about to leave work at 4 and I told him I just need to know if you have an idea what the issue is and if I have to make arrangements for the following day for a ride; and again screaming at me like a wild lunatic to only call me a half an hour later and they fixed the car quoted me 300 when I got there it went up to 500 and change. And again he kept yelling at me that I wasn't giving them time and how dare I call. I refuse to do business with them again and I do not recommend them to anyone there is no reason to speak to a human being that way to carry on like a psychopath and as it is, I gotta take the car now to another mechanic this morning cause the brakes aren't working after what they did. Very poor customer service attitude, and I am incredibly angry and disappointed in the way I was treated and spoken to and that the amount of money I spent I gotta still take my car to another Mechanic. If I could get this place a negative star I absolutely would. I would never do business with him again. I won't even get gas with them again. I've never dealt with such horrible customer service.

I thought the water pump repair was a small job, but Hugo patiently showed us that the water pump is internal and requires a significant amount of time to replace. The second job was for replacing 3 engine coils and spark plugs. All the repairs were clearly explained before work was done. Prices were fairly set before work was done. Diagnostics were correctly performed before work was done. They are patient, fair, honest, and very experienced these are the most important factors when considering an auto shop. Look nowhere else, talk to Hugo and get your car problems solved quickly. What I like most about this shop is the texts and updates I got from Hugo. I have never gotten that type of service from any auto shop, or car dealer. I have used the affiliated auto body shop next door and they do good work. The car was detailed and looked better than new inside and out. There were minor trim issues, which were corrected on a second visit. I don't know if they paint on site, but the paint on the door matches very well under close inspection. If you can involve Hugo in your auto body repairs definitely do so he will make sure your work is done right, and fast.

Been coming here for several years…read more Love their service..between just a simple oil change to tire changes. And heat change, light change, Wheel rotator ( dunno the term, but u get the idea), belt change, towing my car. And many more services. I love how honest they are too. One night while i was driving home from work i realized the light inside my car was dark. I wasn't able to see my speedometer. And it was pretty scary bc just my luck i got lost driving and wasn't able to see how fast/slow i was driving on the highway. Thankfully i made it home. Took my car in the next day, explained the situation and Tom was able to fix it w.o charging me a penny bc it was some switch that was accidentally switched. Now you see, i bet if it was any other mechanic shop they would keep your car, have you wait and then later on charge you for a couple of hours for their man hours. (I know this from experience) i took my car in to pep boys one time in Queens they kept my car overnight. And lets just say the next morning i wasnt a happy camper! They also send friendly reminders of when your next oil change is almost due. Spectacular service. Def recommend! Thank you guys.

Every once in a while, I accidentally stumble upon a business that renews my faith in businesses…read more Tom's Brake & Auto is one of those. I showed up on a Saturday morning, hoping to just get an opinion about a brake issue so I could schedule an appointment for another day. I had been forewarned by a friend who is a self-declared car expert that this was going to be a major, costly job. In the end, I drove out of there after two hours with brand new rotors and pads, no more squealing from my wheels, and only a small dent in my bank account. As an "older" guy (like me), Tom is from a generation that truly appreciates the concept of holding on to cars, electronics, and other things for as long as they provide good service. Many other mechanics would have scoffed at me for still driving a 2011 Honda Element, making excuses for why they couldn't make my brakes stop catching and squealing ("You have to expect that from a 14-year-old car, sir"), but Tom treated my never-been-washed Element like it was a 2025 BMW. He's a very sociable guy, so I enjoyed chatting with him while he was working. Some might say he actually provides TOO much information, but I really appreciated how he explained everything he was doing, as it was pretty much implied from the beginning that the fix, as confident as he seemed, wasn't a 100% sure-shot. In the end, this relatively simple process of maintenance turned out to be a success, and I think he was as happy and relieved as I was. There are very few mechanics - including dealerships - that I have ever used more than once, but I will definitely be returning to Tom's for whatever my Element needs in the future.

I pull in this gas station because I can see it's full service with the guy ready at the pump. As he's fueling my tank, I ask if they do oil changes. He said yes but they close at 3pm and you should go now. I pull around and jump out. After telling the mechanic inside what I needed, he jumps in my car and gets started. 15 minutes top and I'm done. I ask about what oil he used. Your car needs synthetic, which is true. Then he comes outside and pops my hood to show me where it say my oil type just so I would know. 0/30W (or 5/30W after1000k) he replies. Gas + oil change + answer questions = jackpot,

So I brought it to a another mechanic and they told me it looked like the oil was never changed and the leak was my head gasket. Which is easy to diagnose.
