The ugly was it resulted in issues with car computer system and fuel mileage. Had to pay $410 to dealer for diagnostic to figure out what was causing the errors and lack of mileage, but it pointed to the tire being the wrong size. The wait was about 2.5 hours or so. Had to take off for day to bring in car for tire replacement. The good was Dennis the Asst Mgr took call and offered to take care of issue the next day and likewise ordered the correct tire for me. Phil the Manager (?) took me in right away but it still took 2.5+ hours due to other cars in cue. No paperwork needed - a plus. When work was done there was no charge, I tipped the service person. My only other issue was the service person did not align tire pressure for all four wheels. Fortunately I have a tire inflator and did it myself. Car running great now. Bonus - there is a giant H-Mart in lot next to theirs and two restaurants/cafes (plus a seating cafe area inside H-Mart. A bit expensive but good way to kill time. Arby's is in lot on other side. Waiting area has a TV and coffee machine.

I showed up on a Saturday morning, hoping to just get an opinion about a brake issue so I could schedule an appointment for another day. I had been forewarned by a friend who is a self-declared car expert that this was going to be a major, costly job. In the end, I drove out of there after two hours with brand new rotors and pads, no more squealing from my wheels, and only a small dent in my bank account. As an "older" guy (like me), Tom is from a generation that truly appreciates the concept of holding on to cars, electronics, and other things for as long as they provide good service. Many other mechanics would have scoffed at me for still driving a 2011 Honda Element, making excuses for why they couldn't make my brakes stop catching and squealing ("You have to expect that from a 14-year-old car, sir"), but Tom treated my never-been-washed Element like it was a 2025 BMW. He's a very sociable guy, so I enjoyed chatting with him while he was working. Some might say he actually provides TOO much information, but I really appreciated how he explained everything he was doing, as it was pretty much implied from the beginning that the fix, as confident as he seemed, wasn't a 100% sure-shot. In the end, this relatively simple process of maintenance turned out to be a success, and I think he was as happy and relieved as I was. There are very few mechanics - including dealerships - that I have ever used more than once, but I will definitely be returning to Tom's for whatever my Element needs in the future.

I formally demanded my service records from Service Manager Aaron. Complete silence. PCNA ordered them to release my records. Still nothing. They're withholding my own diagnostic records. Why? Because they're hiding something. And they think they're getting back at me for complaining about their horrific treatment of a customer. PCNA reviewed everything and called it "the twilight zone." Corporate confirmed Gold Coast's version doesn't match reality. But PCNA is powerless - they can't even compel a dealer to follow directives. Can't even tell one of their recalcitrant kids to be nice and behave. So what exactly is their function? An illusory position that can't oversee anything. How embarrassing for Corporate. I have to admit Gold Coast excels at one thing - ignoring customers. I wouldn't step a foot in that place if they paid me. THEY THINK I'M GOING TO GO AWAY. I'M NOT. They looked over my car and told me that my repairs were faulty and to bring it back to the original repair shop. He was even nice enough to talk to the other repair shop for me to tell them what was wrong with the car. I wasn't charged for anything. They were super nice about it and wanted me to make sure that I didn't pay anything extra from the other place since it was clearly their fault. Ever since that experience, I've always returned to them! I get my oil changes done here frequently, had spark plugs replaced, inspections, all of that jazz. They've always been reliable, helpful, and friendly. Usually, my car(s) can be dropped off in the beginning of the work day and picked up by the end of it. (My boyfriend works really close by so he usually drops off the car that needs work). These guys are seriously the best! You won't regret coming in. They'll take care of you and your car. :)!
