Five stars are not enough of a rating that Paul and his auto shop truly deserve! I originally found Paul's shop from this very page, now that I've been to him for literally years and my second car, I need to share what a great experience I have every time I'm there! Not only is Paul friendly, but he treats all his customers as actual people and not just a business expense. I'm the furthest from knowing anything other than the basics when it comes to cars but Paul has always taken the time to explain to me what is going on and will show me the issues he came across. I just left his shop not too long ago and he took the time to walk me to my car and show me the tires and explained to me that I will need two tires ASAP or else I'm going to run into some trouble. To some this isn't a big deal BUT, I was just at the dealership a month ago to get my car an oil change (I know, should of went to Paul) but to also have a recall taken care of. The dealership claimed they checked out the car and everything was okay but if you looked at my tires today you would be AMAZED that they even let me get off the lot. Paul is superb! I wanted to have Paul check on an Escalade i was trying to purchase from a dealer in the same city. After looking at reviews from yelp, I wanted a 3rd party used car inspection done. Reading from the Carfax on the vehicle, one thing caught my attention immediately. The Escalade even though a CPO, had "engine mounts" replaced at less than 14,000 mile. When I relayed that info to Paul, he pointed out that it's very odd. He was right. The car was in accident even though it had a clean no accident Carfax report. A used car inspection is a must by a competent and courteous mechanic like Paul. I highly recommend Paul. If we have any issues with our cars, we will go to Paul's for sure! Tried Paul's based on Thom's review. I was considering buying a used Volvo from a dealer in Freeport and had the dealer bring it to Paul to look it over. He found a fuel leak, noted that the tires didn't have much life left, and discovered that one of the rear seat belts wasn't working. He performed a very thorough inspection for under $50. When the dealer said he would repair the fuel leak, Paul offered to check the repair for me for free. I didn't end up buying the car. Paul saw it in the dealer's lot a couple days later and called me to see why the deal didn't go through. Very friendly, very thorough, very honest. My rear struts on my car finally went. I shopped for recommended brands to use so the ride quality didn't suffer. He told me the brand to use which I heard great things about.
