This place is terrible!!!! Do not bring your car here!!!! I took my car in, they replaced the engine (5k)!! I left with my entire car shaking! I called and they said "we told you the mounts needed to be changed out." First of all; they never told me about mounts and second of all, why wouldn't you replace the mounts when you replace the engine! They go hand in hand! I took back to get the mounts fixed, which they charged me another 500 for, and I left with my car still shaking!!!! They screwed up my entire car!!! I am disputing all charges!!! I've already given these guys a five star review in the past. I've had auto tek do over 10 repairs over the last 10 or so years. Jay and his team are phenomenal. I've come to really trust these guys. I can tell you with a lot of experience from them that they don't rip you off. They do great work. Most recently, my car had smoke coming from the engine and exhaust and instead of charging me for an expensive part from the dealership, they found the bolt that I needed from inside their shop and save me money from having to buy the entire package. They've done stuff like that quite a few times, keeping my cost low. They once had to replace my turbo and BMW was going to charge me $9700 to do it. They found a used turbo, put a three year warranty on the part and charged me $2,900. That was close to $1000 cheaper than the next cheapest guy in Antioch. read more

If I could give ZERO stars, I would give 0. As soon as I walked in, I was wondering about the turnover. Joe has sadly passed away so that main mechanic is gone. The manager was replaced by a new woman manager Fay, who knows nothing about cars and no history of being a mechanic. That was my first clue that it wasn't going to be a good experience. You got this vibe as she hovers over the employees were uncomfortable as well. First, I went to ask if I had a check engine light on I know it won't pass smog so what do I need to fix to pass smog. Last time, Joe used a device to check the codes( free) , but this time they said I had to still do a smog check and that way it will bring up codes to see what is wrong. So ok, received codes. from the failed smog check ( cost me 78.00!). They said they needed to do a diagnostic test for 135. Timing chain was misaligned and needed to be changed. 1800. For that but if you go in, bill may be higher if you have to change other things. Oh, and they said I needed to replace the engine!!!! WTH? I said it drives around fine, I haven't had any problems except with the smog check? Well, they reset my check engine light so now everything has to start all over and the car has to be driven through a series. Last time two years ago, the mechanic who was good drove it around and got it to pass smog. This time they said they would drive it as well. They kept my car for 7 days(2 were days off- Sun and Mon) and told me they were driving it around but could only do 30 mins a day. That is why they still had my car. Finally, they called today and said still needed timing chain and it couldn't pass the smog as the check engine light went on when he drove the car. So I picked up the car, but I had written down the mileage of my car prior to leaving it with them and it was 143,709. When I went to get my car which had all these big branches on top of my car and hitting my car where they parked it so I haven't checked it for scratches yet( reminds me I need to do that), the odometer read 143,712. So they drove only 3 miles!? That is about 3-4 minutes worth of driving! I addressed that with them ( they already took my money for diagnostic fees and smog check so about $ 213.00!!!)! Then of course the story keeps changing as they backpedaled. Oh now they just drove it around the block and once the check engine light came on they had to stop! So then why did you have my car for a week, telling me you were driving it for 30 minutes because it was so busy and no man power and then today you drove it and the check engine light went on? I also asked another mechanic elsewhere and he said if the timing chain was broken your car wouldn't move and shouldn't affect the smog check so I don't know who is right?! They said it was misaligned and showed me the report so I don't know? BUT what I do know, was their story did not add up and what they showed me was probably the original smog check that didn't pass and the error codes that came with it and charged me a diagnostic fee not by actually checking it, but by reading the original smog check report ( I will tell my experience and you guys come to your conclusion!) and the state is using them as a STAR smog check which leaves us customers vulnerable! Oh, and one more thing, NO communication at all. When they said they will call you, they never do! And you have to call them each time to ask the status. And honestly, Fay being the manager, is useless because she doesn't understand what is being done, cannot answer any questions about the car, just tells you the technician will call you or repeats what the technician says but if you ask any questions, she is dumbfounded. This business has seriously gone downhill from when I went there before and gave them glowing reviews! And forgot to mention, due to Covid, I wore rubber gloves driving the steering wheel which my gloves were dark black afterwards and they left a dirty rag on my seat. Just an overall horrible, terrible experience all the way around! ETA: On top of that, someone there BROKE my middle console cover/slide. It looks like someone was looking for something in the compartment? Half of my compartment cover/lid when I slid the cover out is completely gone! It was there when I brought it in bc I always close that middle cover to lay my cell on there! I am sooo mad- and I don't even know if anything was taken in the compartment?! But there must be some reason someone was looking in there! So I am just posting about my experience here, you can come to your conclusions. read more

Stay away from this place. It's obvious they don't know or understand what they are doing. They can't understand the diagnostic results.

I always brought our cars here. But this will be the last time I will do that. I took my car in for a ac repair. I ended up having to get my alternator belt replaced at their recommendation along with the ac belt. Got it done cost 300$+. Took the car out for a drive I hear a metal clank sound and the ac stops working. Next day I check and the ac belt is off. I take it back to them they say they will fix it at no charge. Now I leave it with them a few days go by and I call and they now tell me they have to wait for the part to come in. I unassumingly say ok and wait, now what they didn't tell me was that they where waiting for the ac tensioner. Found that out later after the fact that it was the ac tensioner(they failed to actually say what it was but denied it). So a month and a half go by and finally the part comes in gets it installed and a day later my break and battery light come on. Looking it up online it says that is a sign of alternator failure. I take it to them as they have been the only ones messing with the alternator left and right to get to the ac for a month now and they say they would have to charge me 160$ to just check it. Needless to say, I said I'd think about it but yea no way I was giving them my car again. Their front desk lady is horrible at communicating and to be honest with you I really think it's horrible they let her bring a child in with her. I was forced to send my car after the alternator died to another shop after this and their mechanic says that they left pieces of the previous belt in the car(picture attached) and he was shocked to find a self locking bolt that they where forced to break. They where also really surprised it took them so long to get the ac belt. I would also like to to add that I called them to ask about pricing and then when I said no, they called back offering a lower price. What also makes me suspicious is that they replaced the ac belt tensioner for free which to me says something. I legit don't get how service went down hill so bad but needless to say 300$+ to them and 490$ to the other shop has me pretty mad. Never again. read more

BAD.. BAD.. ! My mom got her car diagnostic for Belt Tensioner. She went to Auto Tek and got replaced for 250.00 My mom was happy with the amount and bringing the car back home, after a day when she start the car she heard there's a loud tapping noise . Before the car was brought to the Auto Tek she did informed Jay that the car had a new Alternator and new car battery all she has to replace is the Belt Tensioner. She drove the car back to the Auto Tek shop and ask them why there's a tapping noise . Jay was helpful and told my mom they did changed the Belt Tensioner but they did not know why there's a tapping noise, he told my mom to leave the car for them to check . After 4 hours Jay called my mom and informed her the problem was the AC Converter that needs to be replace and it will cost her 1000 dollars. My mom said the car was diagnosed for Belt Tensioner and now she has to come up for 1000 dollars for AC Converter she told Jay she doesn't have a 1000 to get the AC Converter fix and she will pick up the car. Upon picking up the car at Auto TeK , my mom was so stressed that she has to pay for 185.00 for diagnostic check which she wasn't informed from the beginning .She told them, she doesn't have 185.00 for the diagnostic. Ending up with the agreement of paying 185.00 and will credit towards the future car repair. This is so sad that my mom as a senior needs to barrow money just to pay Auto Tek and get her car back. Auto Tek should first inform my mom and ask her if she willing to pay 185.00 for checking the car, instead of checking the car and charged her after. Business is a business but not like deceiving your customer. I would not recommended this Auto Tek repair shop. I don't think the problem is the AC Converter. My mom AC / Heat working good nothing to do with the tapping. Auto Tek doesn't know or guessing? Tricking my mom for money !! Shame on you !!! Do not Trust this Auto Tek.. read more

I just bought a Honda pilot and the timing belt broke. I took it to Auto Tek. They offered to change the engine out. I didn't have the cash at the time. I asked them to just fix it as a favor. From the front desk to the management, they were helpful towards my situation. They total $$ came at $700 more than quoted, and the owner waived the extra $700. I don't know of any shop that would do that. I am impressed with these guys, and they have my loyalty... read more

Do not take your car to this place. Very dishonest and unprofessional. I needed a transmission they gave me my car back worse than what it was when i brought it there and with new problems. Now my rack n pin is messed up power steering is messed up and they say i have a blown head gasket. None of these problems exsisted till i took it here to autotek now im forced to take legal action and spend more money to get it fixed right. They admitted to throwing my alignment off but won't admit or fix my rack n pin which they messed up. I highly recommend you do not go here. Especially for major work like transmissions and engines. I DO NOT RECOMMEND COMING TO THIS PLACE!!... I had work done here And had to bring my vehicle back four more time after because it wasn't fixed correctly ...! The 3rd time I left it I dropped it off at 8:30 right when they open didn't hear from them all day so I showed up at 5:00 pm to see my car in the same spot it was sitting all day NOT BEING WORKED ON. I asked do u think it can be the part that u original changed when I first came in off top oh no it's not on us it's not our part we changed. It's the car The Dumb lady that has obviously no idea of what she's doing says, We need to keep it over night, so they can work on it first thing the next morning. After it had already been there all day.. so I say I guess Not hearing back anything again the next day I go there again at 2:30. So now it's been there a total of 16business hours Still noting being done I tell the lady give me my car back I'm going somewhere else. I found these guys when I called around to a few different places to replace my transfer case on my 05 Gmc Yukon. Auto Tek was a lot cheaper and the quality of work was very good. I haven't had any problems. I thought I heard some noise coming from the transfer case a few months later and they looked at it & found out it was my rear differential NOT the transfer case they installed...they didn't even charge me for that( like most shops would.) They are very personal and work with people. I will never go anywhere else. I have referred people and brought my wife's car down here also. I drove around on a Saturday looking to get my car smogged at a STAR station. Every place was a 2 hour wait. My husband found this shop and I was in and out in 15 minutes. I was given a quote for a transmission issue-price was super competitive! Charlie is great! The lady at the front desk was amazing and so friendly. Had my car towed to the shop Friday afternoon needing my starter replaced. The car sat there all Saturday without being touched. There was no communication on the delay. I had to call to to find this out. Closed on Sunday. Monday I brought the starter myself top speed up the process. They didn't start working on my car until Monday afternoon even they promised to start on my car first thing that morning. They didn't even do the other minor things I needed checked out. I have just moved to the city and decided to try them out as possibly a new mechanic. I had a coolant leak and thought it was the radiator but wasn't sure. The first guy I talked to told me it be about 500$ worse case scenario. Then the owner came, he informed me that they would have to run a 200$ diagnostic check to figure out what was wrong, and then they would go from there. I always received free diagnostic checks, as part of the overall servicing of what needed to be fixed! But anyway... I later received a call, saying it was my water pump housing and that they wanted to replace all my belts and everything they had to remove to get to the housing they wanted to replace (RIP OFF) I told them to fix what was broken , After they fixed it they charged almost 700! For one water pump housing (100$) defiantly won't be going back! Avoid this scam read more

We where traveling from out of the area. And went to O'Reilly's to get an ac belt they (O'Reilly's) over sold me stuff i didnt need. Vince at Autotek was amazing they put my belt on and then said i needed engine mounts they didnt charge me for that. Then they did a full ac systems test and recharged my system for me. Two minutes later they say there's a check engine light on. No light on when I brought it to them, and the they say "that will be 40.00 bucks". Big shout out to Jay for hooking me up with Tires for the Nissan that has some special sized tires. I went to the dealer and they wanted $190 per tire, then I went to Costco who wanted $150 per tire. I was at my wits end because that's ridiculous! So Jay gave me the price of a lifetime, $450 for 4 tires mounted and balanced, wonderful... Ok so it took all day but it was my fault for not paying attention. They had told me to come in after 3 but I though oh I'll go early so I can be done early. Well they had ordered the tires and they didn't get delivered until 2pm. They did get me out of there by 3. The shop is small but it looks like they do every kind of repair, not just tires. They only charge $40 for a smog check too. I also appreciated the computer in the reception area, I was able to read email and what not while I waited. Not only did they have my car for 3 days but the day after I got it back my check engine light came on, I let them know and they said they need my car back to figure it out? I took my bought at auction car into these guys after going somewhere else and that place gave me an outrageous price for repairs. Auto-Tek said the price to fix my scary exhaust leak was going to be $100 less than the other place. They called after having my car for that problem, to tell me that they found some damaged wires to my cylinders. It was going to cost about $300 more to fix. I can't afford that I told them. Went to pick up the car with the fixed exhaust, come to find out they repaired that faulty wire, free of charge. I will still need to replace it eventually, but they kept me safe for the time being. My 2002 Chevy Suburban didn't pass smog and of course not having the $ to even diagnosis I took my car back several weeks later and Auto Tek was quick to get my car in (with no appointment). They called me with a diagnosis the same day. After giving me a quote the still shopped around for the part (EVAP Canister) for lower prices which they did find. They were quick to order the part and get my car back in working order so I could drive it around for a day so my car can pass smog (the re-test is free).
