They not only stayed open later so I could get it fixed immediately, they fixed it for free! If I could give a 5+++ I would! My family and I have been going to Mr. Luis for YEARS and he is without question, the best around! He's honest, he's fair and he does an AMAZING job! He really cares about what he does and you can tell in his work. Dealerships charge you an arm and a leg, "sell you" and could really careless... Mr. Luis is the complete opposite. We've considered him our little blessing and we're so incredible thankful he's our goto guy. Great service and very reasonable! I asked a lot of friends about an honest mechanic and I ended up turning to yelp and found Auto Tech! I got a cheap estimate and was told to bring the car the following day. He called me a few hours later and said the problem was a little bigger than he had thought but still manageable. I ended up paying under $300 to replace the alternator bolts. I thought it was very reasonable and the service was great! Definitely returning if I need to! read more

I found these guys here on Yelp and went in for an oil change. I also asked them to give me an estimate on whatever needs to be done on my brakes. They've been making noise for a while and I assumed I needed work done on them. The oil change was done several hours before they had estimated (I went in without an appointment), and they asked why I wanted an estimate on my brakes as they have 50% life left on the front and 30% left on the back. I obviously don't know a lot about cars and they could easily have taken me for several hundred dollars and I wouldn't have been any wiser. This kind of honestly is hard to come by in car places. I was referred to this place by another yelper and after reading the reviews gave it a shot. I needed to have my side mirror and battery replaced on my 4Runner. I dropped off the car when they opened and within an hour I had a call back with estimates on cost and how long it would take. Their labor costs were very reasonable and they didn't over charge on the time these repairs took. Their shop is very simple but you can tell that they're focused on getting the job done. Things are first-come-first-served, so be prepared for that. Frankly, it's worth the wait and I'll likely be back. I'd probably give them 5 stars if they opened a bit early and stayed open until 6 or 6:30. It's tough to get out during the day when you're working. read more

These guys are great. They seem to really know what they're doing and they're fast and friendly. I've had front brakes replaced, tires rotated, and some other maintenance work done, as well as some general troubleshooting. The experience has always been positive - smooth, efficient, and I felt the price was reasonable and fair. They don't charge for problem visits/diagnostics, only for the actual parts and labor they perform, and they always call me to tell me what's wrong and give me the quote before they do any work. The location is very convenient, and since I have a zone sticker they just park the car on a side street when they're done and I pick it up after work. I'll keep giving them my service as long as I'm in the neighborhood and in need of a good mechanic. read more

Good honest business with friendly service. I've taken my car there for problems large and small. Thought I had a leak in my tire- they couldn't find and didn't charge me. They could have told me they patched it and I wouldn't have known. I also took them a problem the honda dealer couldn't figure out. They couldn't find it either but unlike the honda dealership - they didn't charge me. Eventually turns out I didn't have the symptoms/condition right and therefore they couldn't replicate the issue at the time. They've replaced a headlight right away on a rainy day. These guys are the best. The service is great, they really know what they're doing, and the prices are super fair. I've never doubted that they are giving me a fair price or giving me the best advice in terms of what to do/how much to spend on part that was needed. Also really quick- they don't do appointments, you just have to drop off (I always get there a little before they open) and give them your key, tell them what you want done, and leave your number. Luis and Miguel are the most honest, hardworking, helpful (they came and pushed my car into the garage once) mechanics I've ever known. They down-sell what the car needs. They kept my 1998 Honda running until the bottom rusted out in 2013. I now have a 2007 and they are on their way to another 15 years. I should have written earlier but I have taken them for granted until they saved me once again. I hope the rent from gentrification in Adams Morgan doesn't drive them out. read more

Seriously, I would give these guys seven stars if I could. My car had been acting up and I was able to pinpoint the problem to be brittle vacuum hoses on the intake side. So I went to these guys to see if they'd sell me a two-foot piece of hose so that I could get the car running again. One of the guys jumped out and went looking for a pice. After he found a piece and handed it to me, I asked how much I owed them, he simply waved his hand and said "we'll take care of it next time." I recently moved to Silver Spring, MD. I had to do the Maryland car safety inspection and my car didn't pass due to the ridiculous rusty muffler. Anyway, I went to a few stores in Maryland, and all of them quoted me around $500 for a rear muffler pipe exchange, before TAX! I found Auto Tech Service on Yelp and decided to give it a try because of these good reviews. I am happy that I went to this auto store. The owner and mechanicians are very friendly and helpful. The price was good too. They charged about $300 which includes $90 labor cost for the muffler which is reasonable. I recommend this store because it provides good service and people are honest and friendly. The only drawback might be the limited space. It is located in a busy residential area, and not much space for customers to park their cars. My suggestion is to go there early, especially on Saturday. There is no cafe stores near by to sit in while waiting for your car to be fixed. read more
