It was around 10:00 PM, so I searched Google for the nearest repair shop and found The Car Doctor. Even though they were closing, one of the employees took the time to help me drop off my car. That alone showed me they genuinely care about their customers. The next morning, my car was fully diagnosed, and they clearly explained the issue and gave me multiple repair options without any pressure. Since replacing the transfer case is a major job, I was told it would likely take a few days. To my surprise, I received a text message the very next day around 5:00 PM saying my car was ready for pickup! I honestly couldn't believe how quickly they completed such a big repair. So when my local mechanic couldn't fix an issue that cropped up with my car in September, I went out of my way to bring my car from NW to Auto Tech's Trinidad shop. My car had a P1454 check engine light (fuel tank pressure sensor/EVAP system issue). Auto Tech did a diagnostic and recommended replacing the sensor for $519. They said they weren't completely sure it would fix the problem, but they warned me that if I took the car to a dealer, the dealer would want to replace the full EVAP system for at least $2,000. I trusted Auto Tech's advice and authorized the $519 repair, but the check engine light came back on the next day. Auto Tech then advised I replace the rest of the EVAP system, quoting me over $1,500 just for the parts. I decided to get a second opinion from the dealer anyway. For a $195 diagnostic fee, the dealer identified a clogged fuel vent tube, cleaned it out, and fixed the problem. This tube is attached to the same fuel tank pressor sensor Auto Tech replaced -- meaning that Auto Tech never took the time to check for a blockage in the immediate vicinity of the part they replaced. When I called Auto Tech to provide this feedback and express my disappointment with the misdiagnosis, they blew me off. They insisted they had been right all along, offered an obviously insincere apology, and hurriedly got off the phone. I am deeply disappointed with Auto Tech and can no longer recommend them due to their failure to properly diagnose this issue, bad advice about how much a dealership would have charged, and dismissal of my feedback.

No, they were all low as though no one checked them when serviced. Then wiper fluid light which I've never had before as long as it's serviced regularly - again as though no one topped it off during recent service. Finally I go to another mechanic for an oil change who said the oil looked neglected and suggested I get it changed more often. I just went in for an oil change at Nielsen's three months ago. So I'm pretty suspicious of the expensive repairs (suggest reading other reviews on this). But feel sure they were not doing the routine maintenance I was bringing it in for while charging me thousands for expensive repairs.

I never feel like anyone there talks to me differently or charges me differently for being a woman, which is a stereotype you hear about mechanics (though honestly I've dealt with that more with HVAC techs, but I digress). When I dropped my car off on a thursday evening for a friday appointment, Rich called me back an hour later just to let me know he had looked at it already and didn't think it was anything to be concerned about but would do more work in the morning, which i really appreciated. When I was leaving after picking up my car I spoke to a woman who had been going here for, I think 15 years and said Rich takes great care of her antique car. In February 2026, I discovered a deep scratch on the hood of my vehicle following a car wash. I immediately brought it to an employee's attention and asked if he could remove it, but the scratch was too deep. Rather than make an issue of it, I gave the business the benefit of the doubt and paid out of pocket to have the damage professionally repaired. Fast-forward to October 27, 2026, and here we are AGAIN. Another scratch on my hood, in almost the exact same location! TWICE. SAME BUSINESS. SAME AREA OF MY HOOD. I take pride in maintaining my vehicle, and the last thing I expect after paying for a car wash is to leave with damage that requires professional repair. What makes this particularly frustrating is that I've continued supporting this business, even after the first incident, because I genuinely appreciated their service. I've spent several days trying to locate management's contact information to address this latest incident directly. I'm now formally requesting that the business take responsibility for the damage and cover the cost of repairs.
