Honest, Great and Reliable service! I've trusted my MB CL 55 AMG whip to Ray and his team for some time now. I love my ride but as most MB owners know.....The repairs can be a "Bi#%ch!" and joys of owning one can come at a steep price to maintain. Also, the inner workings of these things require great skill and knowledge. It is the kind of car that you can't put in the hands of just any ordinary mechanic shop. I stumbled onto this shop one day after being frustrated with a bad MB dealer experience and repair shops that always seemed shady / untrustworthy. The kind of places in your gut where you know you're getting "jipped or they are trying to take you for your money!" I've never had that feeling here at District Line Auto Service, nor any bad experiences. Ray, the owner, has always provided an honest assessment of what my car really needed and takes the time to explain the issue in detail. You can be confident that the work will be done correctly. In my experience, I have found their quotes and repairs to come in at almost half the price of the dealerships. They are fast at getting the work done right.... the first time around. Mostly all my repairs were completed within hours or the same day; if the parts were available. If not the case, Ray keeps you informed and communicates with you throughout the process. I took my 2014 Volvo XC90 to this auto shop because my car was leaking coolant. I took my car back to shop 3 times for the same problem, the shop kept saying it was a line, so a couple of lines were replaced. The fourth time the coolant leaked, I took my car to Volvo dealer to be placed on diagnostic machine. Dealer said thermostat was leaking. District Line said they had also "put car on diagnostic machine". I took car back to District Line, to make repair for which I had paid for and was told I would have to pay for thermostat replacement. read more

A very pleasant first experience using District Line Auto Service. I had a couple of coolant lines that ruptured and needed replacing. I called as soon as the the shop opened and Ray said he could look at the car the same day. I was delayed a few hours in getting the car towed, but once it finally got there Ray went through diagnosing, ordering, and repairing the car in about 6 hours. I've been going to this auto shop since I moved to DC 4 years ago. Ray and his team are very reliable, transparent, and efficient. I've gotten oil changes, starter replacements, and brake replacements here. Fortunately I have not had too many issues with my car, mostly regular maintenance (aside from the starter issue that ray was able to identify and resolve after I went to 3 other places, including the dealership). I rarely write reviews on anything...but this mechanic shop is by FAR the best one I have dealt with. I have been going to them for almost 5 years and they give fair prices and explain everything that is wrong and the priority in which you should fix things. The ownee even showed me how to check my oil levels so I wouldnt have to come to him unnecessarily to check them. I would recommend them to anyone who needs to have any type of mechanical work done on their vehicle. There's a certain dread that comes with car maintenance, especially as a woman that doesn't understand much about cars. Are they going to up-sell me on unnecessary services/ maintenance? Will they charge me fair prices? Will they take care of my 'precious' (*Smeagol voice)? And most of all, is this going to take up my whole day?! This is why I love District Line Auto Services!!!! They don't do any of that s*%#!. I've been to this location a couple of times so far with 2 different cars in different stages of the car life cycle: one luxury car at 10 years old needing multiple repairs with 150k miles AND one fairly new needing a standard oil change. For the old car, the store manager/ owner? repaired the most pressing issue I had and helped me come up with a plan to stagger the remaining fixes to lessen the financial blow. For the newer car, I just wanted an oil change but was nervous about my brakes. He did the oil change and checked my brakes. No problem was found. I paid 38$ total and went on my merry way! The prices have always been fair! The service is amazing!! Annnnd depending on the service you're getting, you can be in and out in about an hour (oil change on a Saturday, brake pad change on a Wednesday). This is a small operation, so don't come in here expecting some Midas or Meineke 20$ special. But definitely know that you're getting off with amazing, knowledgeable service and great prices! I don't trust many people with my car with but I do trust Ray! He is the utmost in honesty & trustworthiness which is not something seen these days in the auto industry. I had been taking my car to Honda dealerships for repairs and NTB for the occasional oil change. However, I was burned by a shady NTB mechanic that tried to tell me I need some expensive repair for "an oil leak" & it was going to cost as much as $500. I knew it was BS since I've never seen any visible oil stains in my garage. I guess they thought they could get over on a female. I promptly said goodbye & was on my way. I was then referred to him by a friend who has been taking his car to D.C. Line Auto for over 10 years. My car has been served well & for a lot less than what the dealers charge. I will continue to take my car (a very well "seasoned" Honda Accord) to Ray and I'll even take any new car to Ray as well because at least I know I won't be taken for all my cash. read more

Jin (aka "Jim") will listen to your problems, get the staff right to work on it, and call around to find new or rebuilt parts at the best price. I have seen them come out and fix small problems for people who just dropped in, and then not even charge them. They try to repair parts if they can, rather than just replace them; and they are willing to find innovative solutions. They never try to sell you anything extra. Had to take my car back to them 5 times because they never fixed what was wrong with my jaguar xj6. I had to report them to the better business bureau because the owner, kept charging me everytime i brought the car back after I told him my car is still cuttIing off after 10 minutes of driving. They gave me every excuse in the book. The owner lacks integrity and seems to be a mechanic just out to make a fast buck. After the 5th time bringing car back the owner yelled at me and said: " You know bring the car back here anymore." I sensed he knew he did not have the expertise to deal with the issue effectively and fix vehichle so he wanted to get rid of me. He did not want to refund me either not even a portion of the over $1000.00 I have paid him. His manager Ray is a "yes boy who covers for the owners lies the old good cop bad cop routine. i went to another mechanic and he fixed issue in 2 days I have not had a problem in 4 months since the new mechanic took care of it. In 2014 I brought a 1997 VW Golf to District Line Auto, and in 2016 I towed a 1996 Toyota Land Cruiser -- each had been sitting in a garage for more than 7 years! In each case, District Line brought the vehicles back to life, starting with an realistic estimate for the work, walking me through what needed to be done, and gave me a fair price. Today in 2018, both cars running well, and I now use the Land Cruiser overseas. I have found both the owner and the manager each to be clear, direct, and trustworthy in all aspects including advice, labor, price, and quality of work. I highly recommend District Line Auto Service for your car repair needs! I have a 15 year old Volkswagen Jetta and I have been taking it to Volkswagen service centers for all of my service needs. For a few months now I have been hearing an unusual rumbling humming noise coming from my vehicle and getting low gas mileage. I took it to 2 different Volkswagen service centers and they told me that either they didn't hear any noise or that it was just noise in the exhaust pipes and that gas mileage changes in the winter and I should just use a higher octane gas. Eventually my check engine light came on. I searched and found that District Line Auto Service has great reviews so I decided to try them. Great Choice! Mr. Ray Gombo, Service Manager, and his team did a multi-point inspection of my car, checked the diagnostic codes, did a fuel pressure test and determined that my fuel pump assembly needed to be replaced along with a few other repairs. Mr. Gombo was very professional and gave me a detailed explanation of the required work and the estimated cost. The repairs were completed quickly and efficiently and I had my car back within a few days. I feel that they care about doing a good job for their customers and I plan to go back for any future repair needs. I'm a single, female who has tried many auto service companies in the area and this is by far my favorite. I have taken my car there for a radiator (which at the time I didn't know I needed), air conditioning problems etc on different occasions and have always received exceptional service. Are they super cheap, no, but they are fair and honest. My car is pretty 'aged' and there are times when I admittedly get paranoid. Being that I am a regular customer, they will sometimes listen to the issues I think i'm having, take a look, tell me I'm being anal and send me out the door without a charge.
