I can't rave enough about Hanagans! From the moment we went for an inspection til when we picked up the car it was top notch customer service! We needed a new door and it was on back order for a while but that was no fault of Hanagans! They kept in constant communication with us providing updates along the way which we appreciated! Everyone is so friendly, knowledgeable and welcoming which you don't always get in this field of work. Will happily use again for some of the maintenance items needed on our car as well!! read more

I tried to contact them. Instead of simply making an appointment, they sent me some link for their computer estimate system. It did not go through, I had to ask them again, then it turned out that it uses my phone, I have to make a pic of the damage, etc. It is not convenient and not secure. Their employees can use any system they like, but this is not customer experience I expect. Thanks, but no. read more

Hanagan's does excellent work! We took our car after experiencing some very minor damage to the front bumper. The team was prompt, professional, and did great work. I strongly recommend bringing your car here. read more

Terrific. Easy, online scheduling for a free estimate. When I got there , everything was on time, and Jim was straightforward about what made sense in terms of repair and what might not be worth it, given my 15-year-old Honda. Repairs done wonderfully. Entire staff was very pleasant. Didn't think I'd be raving about a body shop, but it was such a good experience. Highly recommended. read more

We've taken both of our cars to Hanagan's in Silver Spring, MD for many years, and they have earned our trust and respect! They are willing and able to help with insurance claims, and they really make the process so seamless. Also, the quality of their work is exceptional; each time we've visited them, we realize that if we didn't know what work they did, there would be no evidence that work was needed at all! Paint color has always matched perfectly, you can speak with them about OEM parts if that's your preference, and they do not price-gouge or recommend work that really isn't necessary. Everyone that works there, from the folks at the front desk to the technicians, is highly professional and knowledgeable, and they take time to explain their approach to your repair. I highly recommend Hanagan's!! read more

Kind, reliable, and thorough staff! I dropped my car off to them to get the oil changed, tires checked, and brakes checked. They took care of everything by the next day and it's back up and running in tip top shape. Highly recommend and will be back! read more

Hannigan's is THE body shop for my family and everyone that's asks. I will continue to send people here because of their warm customer service, realistic expectations, cost effectiveness, and respect for my pockets! My mother was told she needed to have a laundry list of things done at a different shop. Sent her to Hannigans and they provided her with a more truthful explanation of her needs and warned her against companies that may take advantage. I trust Hannigans. 100%! read more

This is a family run auto body shop that has been in business for over 60 years. They gave us an estimate that was less expensive than some of their competitors. The entire staff was warm and friendly. We got our car back in one day. Tim drove my husband home from the body shop since I wasn't available, that is service well beyond what we expected. The car looks great. I highly recommend Hanagan's and will continue to send anyone else. All in all this experience was great. read more

I very much appreciate good work and fair treatment when my car needed more than expected. I felt like Jim Hanagan was fair, reasonable, and honest. He seemed straight up and transparent. Work was quick. read more

I did a search on Yelp to find a auto body shop near my job after a cab driver hit my car. I found Hanagan's, and I am so happy I did. From the very first time I walked in, I got that old school feeling. They just seemed like they know what they are doing. The atmosphere is real layed back, but not in a rude sort of way. I received an estimate in 15 minutes with a smile. They even put a quarter in my meter so that I wouldn't get a ticket while I waited. Two weeks later, I scheduled to bring my car in. They ordered my parts with a $300 deposit the day before I dropped it off. I took my car in on Wednesday, and it was ready on Thursday evening. They even offered me a ride back to work which is a couple of blocks away. I paid approximately $1000 (actually the cab driver's insurance) in total, and my car looks better than before the accident. Happy Customer! 5 Solid Stars! read more

Very pleased w the paint repairs they did. Seamless paint job, perfect color match. Will go back to them if the need arises. I was very pleased. Can't weigh in on how the estimate was in line w other businesses but this is not a place you go to and have someone say they can do it with a touch up kit for a few hundred dollars. It is high quality work done by professionals. They do the job right. For purposes of full disclosure, I did not have dents repaired, just paint. No insurance was involved. read more

This is a great family owned body & mechanic shop. They have been in business for many years. Located in the downtown Silver Spring area, their shop staff are friendly, reliable, reasonable and honest. I have had work done from the body shop which always comes out completely done with no issues. Many different cars and trucks, so they can do it all. Work with or without insurance claims. Amazing family business - reliable, great customer service and great quality! Highly recommend their services!

My 2011 Camaro SS was rear ended. This was my first time taking my car to this shop. I heard many good things about repairs, turn around time, and attention to detail. All of those things were true when I took it Hanagan's body shop. I was greeted by a very friendly staff as soon as I entered. They gave me an estimate of 3 days and ended up fixing it in 2. I was very pleased with the work, detail, and customer service. Highly recommended!! read more

My first time getting car repairs since moving to the area and couldn't be more satisfied, especially with their communication and honesty. I spoke to Anthony, who immediately came out and, after providing a detailed estimate, made sure I had no questions before I left my car there. They texted me every other day letting me know the status of the car and it was available exactly when they said it would be. Happy to report the car came out looking great. They even provided a small refund on the cost and labor of a small cosmetic part they had originally quoted that had come off in the collision (they were unable to obtain it from the manufacturer due to longterm backorder), a part/cost I would never have noticed had Anthony not been adamant about the refund. TL;DR: Great service, very honest, and will be back with any future needs. read more

They took my poor baby that had $6000 worth of damage from a rear end and sideswipe and brought her back to new. They were recommended to me by my director and I am thrilled with the work they did. Now I don't want to have to take my car in for any more body work in the future, but if I need to, I know who to call. read more

I had an excellent experience with Hanagan's. I found this shop through my auto insurance, and was happy to see the excellent reviews. I did a lot of research before dropping off my car, which still had temp tags at the time of the unfortunate incident that required body work. I wanted to work with a Porsche-certified auto body shop, but none of them had nearly as good reviews as Hanagan's. So... 1. Customer Service- Excellent. I walked in first thing on a Monday to drop off my car without calling ahead. The woman at the front desk was very helpful, and even called my insurance company to speak with someone when I was unsuccessfully negotiating my drop off on my own. Paperwork was quick and easy. 2. Car Service- Excellent. The Hanagan's team was quick, efficient, flexible, and HONEST. They kept me up to date with phone calls and texts throughout the process. Parts were ordered for my car the day of dropoff, and the car was ready for pick up first thing Fri am. I am very happy I found Hanagan's, and will definitely do business with them in the future (but hope I won't have to). read more

It can be heard to find a good auto mechanic, but I was very pleased with the service I received at Hanagan's. I took my car here a few years back for a minor auto repair. This place is a little hidden gem, tucked away on a nondescript street just down from the downtown Silver Spring shopping district. IIRC, the shop was a little on the pricy side, but the quality and timeliness of the service could not be beat. I also remember waiting inside on a couch in a clean, well-lit waiting area while my car was being serviced (though I'm sure that's no longer allowed during COVID). read more

I scratched the side door of our car (2002 Acura MDX) in a parking garage. The estimate was over $1,000 which wasn't worth it because the car is so old (over 200,000 miles). Instead, I asked them if they could just try to make it look "less bad" for a couple hundred bucks which what I was willing to spend so my dad wouldn't keep mentioning the scratch when we visited. They ended up covering up the rust on the wheel well which definitely helped with appearances. They weren't, however, able to do much with the other dents and scratches on the door so they ended up not charging me anything. read more

I needed 4 new tires but I didn't want to break the bank, I decided to try hanagans and I was blown away. Kevin the owner was extremely helpful and down to earth. So was the rest of the staff. This experience felt wayyyy better and different compared to big chain places I've been to in the past. Very quick, efficient and no pressure on getting different tires or up sell me anything. Asked me what I'm looking for? If I had a brand preference or just looking for something affordable. They worked with me and took care of me. I will absolutely be coming back. If you need new tires don't bother looking at other big chain places. Just go here, trust me read more

It doesn't get better than Hanagan's and their people when it comes to taking care of you and your car. Last year, my car was annihilated while parked along the street. Hanagan's was a choice covered by my insurance, so I chose them. Holy smokes, I couldn't have made a better decision if I had tried. Sean took my car in and stayed in communication with me throughout the whole process. He kept me appraised of what certain insurance procedures and timelines were, and emailed (per my request instead of phone calls) me updates regularly over the month it took to do all the repairs. My car came back looking and feeling brand new. Since this occurrence, I have returned twice, as well as sent my husband and two close friends. Every single visit has been nothing short of ideal. Customer service is top notch and friendly. The waiting room is clean and comfortable. There's always laughter in the room. They are honest, and kind and willing to take the time to explain mechanical things to us car dummies. I always feel so well cared for when I am here, and can not recommend any business more highly than I recommend Hanagan's. read more

Hanagan's cares about its customers, a fact which is exemplified by their quality work and excellent customer service. I originally took my car there for some body work after an unfortunate run in with a column in my parking garage... I was new to the auto repair process and didn't know that you should call ahead to schedule a time to get an estimate. They were able to fit me in anyway and I only waited a few minutes for the owner to take a look at my car and write up an estimate. One of the best parts of the experience is the communication preferences form that they give you to fill out when you drop your car off. They ask how and when you would like to receive information and updates, either by phone email or text and whether you would like daily updates or just notification when the work is done. I think this small step goes beyond just providing good service as they make you feel that your time is important too and that they want to minimize the inconvenience of having work done on your car. They also worked seamlessly with my insurance company - USAA. The location is a little unusual, although it is an easy walk to the Silver Spring metro. It is on a block with a dozen other auto repair shops and a little hidden however the building is clearly marked and there is metered parking nearby. I have recommended Hanagan's to friends and family and my sister has used them twice for minor body work on her car, even though it is not a convenient location for her she and her husband have been so impressed with the service and value using a trustworthy company that they feel it is well worth their trip which I think is saying a lot considering how many other auto body shops there are in the area. read more

Recommended by my usual car repair place (Murray's), Hanagan's did not disappoint me. My car was rear-ended, and the repair cost was covered by insurance (or will be, eventually...) so they naturally spiffed it up a lot more than I would have payed for, had I been paying. Of course they fixed up the bumper, replacing the cover and repairing a lot of other incidental damage; they also gave the car a thorough washing (it was really dirty when I brought it in) and vacuumed it out. Beyond all that, they straightened out a dent in one of my panels that wasn't caused by the accident, because they don't like to paint over dents. For free! Woo. By a quirk of fate, a bird flew into the side of my car on the highway about a month ago--loud clonk and then it actually fell inside an open window onto the back seat. I kept finding feathers in weird places after that--in the trunk, tucked into crevices in the dash. After I took the car to Hanagan's, no more feathers. No more bird crap on the inside of the back window. They didn't mess with the blood stain on the seat, but I don't blame them. (Ew, I know. It was much worse to actually have to get the bird out of the car.) I can't comment on prices, since I wasn't trying to be frugal, but I hear from others that they're fair. They're one of the oldest auto body shops in Silver Spring. If you need to have insurance work done, I can't recommend them enough (they're an authorized repair facility with State Farm, at least; not sure about other agencies). They have a night-time drop-off slot, but make sure to bring an envelope to put your keys in and something to write on it with. Parking is on the street. read more

I can't say enough! I got my car repaired here after a car crash. I felt terrible that my car was so banged up, but the guys at the shop made it a seamless repair. I was told it would take about two weeks, but I got my car in 10 days. It was pricey, but I only had to pay the deductible. And my car...She was in tip top shape! Or so I thought! A week later I was leaving church, when my car decided it wouldn't start. I called AAA and they showed me how corroded and hideous my car battery was. Mind you, I got this car a year ago, supposedly brand new battery in at the time of purchase. The battery was corroded down through the battery cables. I was quoted $900 from koons ford in silver spring. I went on a limb and called Hanagans to let them know, though I wasn't sure if it were caused by the car crash. They checked her out and fixed her for half the price! I will never go anywhere else. I felt safe and valued as a customer and am raving about them to all of my friends and family! read more

I am very satisfied with Hanagan's. I used their service to repair my car last year and was very impressed by workmanship. My car looked it was never hit. 2 weeks ago, my car was hit while it was parked. It was damaged significantly and needed to be towed. Even though my car is still in the shop, I am very satisfied with the service provided thus far. Julian and Jimmy answered all my questions. Jimmy called back today to let me know the repair has been delayed by a day--I appreciate that kind of service. read more

I was referred to Hanagan's by my auto insurance company, USAA and even though they are all the way in Silver Spring (I live in Adams Morgan), I decided to take a chance. They are FANTASTIC! My Acura vehicle was damaged in a hit-and-run incident and damaged was on the passenger side of my vehicle. Hanagan's was one of the preferred repair shops listed by my insurance. I decided to use Hanagan's and am very pleased I used them. The whole process was seamless. They kept me updated on every step, and took time to explain to me the work they would be doing. The estimated repair was time given was a week, and the work was completed within the estimated time. When I picked the car up, it looked like new, again. I would recommend and definitely use Hanagan again...if needed. read more

This place is AWESOME! Great and timely service. Jim is phenomenal and ensures quality work!

Excellent experience with Hanagan's. They did an estimate for me and worked with me as I tried to navigate the insurance stuff. Their prices seemed fair and were in line with other estimates I received (within 10%). Most importantly, they did a great job on my car and it looked as good as new. And they did it within the stated time frame. I worked with Sean, who I think is the son of the owner. He was really knowledgeable. It's definitely a family business and they all seem to be very dedicated. I will note that a few days later there was an issue with an electrical component. They told me to stop by at any time and they took a look and fixed it (it hadn't been fully reconnected after the repair) in less than 15 minutes. Sean also gave me some advice on fixing an unrelated issue, which was helpful. They have a cool little text messaging system that gives you an update on how things are going. I appreciated that. Nice touch. Hopefully I won't need any repairs again but if I do, I will definitely use them! read more

I took my BMW 328i in for a low beam bulb replacement. I had looked on Youtube on how to do it and while I could manage, it wouldn't be easy because the easiest way to do a simple bulb replacement probably involved removing the tire to gain better access to the panel in the wheel well. I arrived at 8:15 at Hanagans and Sean took a look at it, said have a seat, have a cup of coffee (complimentary) and I'll get one of the guys to replace it for you. Half an hour later, Sean returns my key fob and says I'm set to go. I ask him how much? NO CHARGE. I go, really? Can I at least pay you for the replacement bulb. Sean says it costs a couple of bucks just remembers us if you need any other work. I will do so. Where does one get that kind of service in today's world?!! Kudos to Hanagans!!! read more
