He was called out to fix the window on my van and without my knowledge brought an after market window that ended up not fitting in my van properly. I was never offered an option in picking which quality of window I wanted. After the window did not fit he suggested I leave my van torn apart, but that I still owed him a $50 service fee for "all of his hard work." I requested my van be put back together, before he received his payment. He came to my door with my keys, I asked him if my van was put back together and he then proceeded to dangle my keys above my head and state "You will not get your keys until I get my payment." I requested that he handed me my keys, as this was totally unprofessional and I was afraid this guy had other motives. He then proceeded to take my entire key ring, get into his vehicle, and drive into the road with my keys. I told him I would give him his check as soon as I got my keys back and all of the sudden he claimed he did not take checks. The police were called and the matter was resolved. The Mechanic lien law could have been put into place in a courtroom with the proper court documents had he chosen to do things in a legal manner but instead he stole my belongings and held them hostage until he got his money like the dirty crook he is.

Beware! Shoddy business practices. Very unprofessional. Had my windshield replaced a year ago…read more $1000 windshield. Warranty explicitly states stress cracks are warranted. Was driving in a parking lot maybe 5 miles per hour- the glass popped (that's the sound I heard) nothing remotely nearby to cause the windshield to crack. Stop by Seneco Glass as they did the original install. No one there to assess. Call them the next day- Rick says send me pics -did so, can't determine from pics - "bring in I'm here all the time" Text him- will you be there tomorrow? - his response "yup". Bring the car by (mind you, this is a 25 minute drive each time) Guess what? Rick not there all day. The lady says I'll have someone come out to your home and look at it- Okay, great. The guy does show and determines it's a stress crack and covered by warranty. Wonderful. Make an appointment to bring car in and have glass repaired. (Again, taking time away from work, also having another person follow me to bring me back home). Well guess who is there when I drop car off?- the elusive Rick- looks at glass and says-(I'll let you guess) that's right- Ricks says- "that's not a stress crack. It's not covered!" ll start off with this. No gimmicks. FOREVER WARRANTEE. (yea…read morereally) No "Time share" sales tactics. No telling me "My wife had to be there for the initial visit" (That is also a timeshare selling tactic) No Special "back to school pricing" gimmicks. No buy one get one free. No LYING and saying the competition makes inferior windows (Then when you see what Window universe does it is actually better than the other company) I got 18 quotes for work on my house 5 window quotes. so I am tired and cranky. I didnt call Window Universe intially. (my mistake) I had one company (Who I wont review) that was all the way up to getting a downpayment from me. They seemed good initially but I had to fire them when they didnt show up (it was a fourth offence) Too bad. Well I called Window Universe they came out fast. The quoting process was fast. The person (lance) who came out was very personable. Now I didnt realize this but their quote was 1500 less than the other guy I fired. Also Lance is a dialed in person. He called Provia on my door and he told me that the door I was getting was not compatible so we had to switch. The previous guy was going to give me that door with the side lights. (Was it going to even work??) yeah so there was that. The appointment took minutes. We also talked about basement glass block windows. Their prices. Right on the sheet AND they were really good about 1/2 what I expected to pay. So I am going to do that too before the winter. Anyhow when all was said and done Window Universe was less than the guy I almost used and Lance double checked he got the proper sized windows and sidelights. Great experience and I still have 3+ weeks before the windows show up. Ill come back and add some pictures after it is done. I know it is going to be great.
