Oh, that's because the hoses come in packs of 2, even though Sharon needed 1 hose replaced, they were going to charge her for an extra part, that they were not going to use on her car. I know parts are expensive, but that's ridiculous. She told them that was too much and called around and M & S Auto's estimate was for 260.00. They recognized the dire need of a working Mom. They had compassion for her situation and helped her. They fixed her car in 20 minutes, instead of the Tuesday, originally stated. She had her car towed to Auto Repair Inc.1st. They did a diagnostic test on her car. They charged her 70.00 for that, and gave her the 700.00 estimate. When she wisely declined, she tried to pay the bill with her credit card over the phone. They refused to take payment over the phone, and refused to release her car to the towing company. She was sick, with 3 kids, I gave her a ride to the shop to pay in person. They made her wait around the desk, while the workers stood around, taking another customers info over the phone. One guy told her to quit asking questions. What type of men take advantage of a woman, who is obviously sick and struggling. Speak to her in a way that she comes out sobbing, at her wits end. SHAME ON YOU AUTO REPAIR INC. I suspected a leak as the coolant had been requiring replenishing over the course of two weeks. I also requested he check out my front end, my alignment had been pretty funky since an impact earlier that year. He found a leaky hose, which he replaced, then flushed the system as well as checking the fan. All of this was performed after he spoke with me with a verbal explanation of the issues as well as an accurate estimate of repairs and labor. When I picked my car up I inquired about the front end work. Tony's response was, ahem, quite frank. "You need struts on both ends, a new axle, something about a bolt....(I made that last one up), you need a new car". I expected something to that effect, I was hoping it would be a little ways away though. That directness was very much appreciated from someone who had everything to gain from a nickel and dime scheme. There could have been a replacement here and a repair there which led to an eventual small fortune being spent on a car that is not worth it. So I'm saving up and if my new car needs anything I'll be back!
