5 stars for my potato tornado, should try some other stuff too lol. Tastes like pakoras (iykyk)

Service was quick and I loved that we could order less sugar on our drinks. My cousin and I both got a drink at 50% sugar and they were perfect! I got a matcha and he got a tea and we both love it. Lots of space for sitting and they also have some games to play. Would go back

One of my favorite places to go to get homework done. A lot of seatings. They serve food, dessert, and drinks. I can sit here for hours. They also have a parking lot but get ready to do a little off-roading. They always decorate for the holidays which is super cute.

    Mango POMELO SAGO TARO BALL/杨枝甘露芋圆

Ambiance - modern, great for small & large group hangouts looking to grab dessert/a bite Service - order by the kiosks & staff will call your name to grab your food, expect 5-15 min wait depending on your order Food - love their desserts, mango pomelo sago taro ball is a must get (all the topping textures combined with a silky smooth mango coconut base)

This place leveled up!! They used to have ONLY desserts and drinks. But now they have a wide variety of entrees and street food. Took some time to actually decide what to eat bc there were too many delicious options. We ended up getting the crab meat and pork soup dumplings, cabbage with vinegar sauce, and duck blood w pork intestine vermicelli casserole (more adventurous choice). All were super delicious and flavorful. overall we left really surprised that they expanded their menu outside of sweets and killed it. We love a local restaurant that can do it all. They still seem to be working out the dining process and we were offered another table's food twice. That said, our meals did arrive in a reasonable time. Highly recommend this place, it's pretty casual with good Chinese music. This area is pretty easy to commute to. They also have a parking lot but sometimes hard to find a spot there esp over the weekends.

Osmanthus Milk w/ Osmanthus Jelly and Boba Milk Tea Donut
    Generous Y.

3.5 rounded up because one of the drinks wasn't for me, but probably a user skill problem (of my order). Wanted boba and was drawn in by the gimmicky donut cups. And you bet I got one to add to the collection. Ordered delivery, going with a classic milk tea and then feeling adventurous. Ended up regretting the second drink, but the classic milk tea was solid. Boba Milk Tea Donut - had to get the classic drink in the donut bottle for the experience. Surprisingly easy to drink from a donut and the cup has a small, flat bottom. Boba was one of the best I've had in Chicago on my boba tour. It's the perfect chew with a bounce as feedback on each chew with a light sweetness. Flavor could be better with better marination, but it's already better than most other bobas. Classic black tea base with evaporated or condensed milk to be more Hong Kong style. Though I think most Hong Kong style milk teas taste the same, so it's harder to compare. Osmanthus Milk w/ Osmanthus Jelly - I was shocked by this drink because they have actual osmanthus flowers resting at the bottom. The cup label ended up saying "Wine Osmanthus" and there was definitely a wine aftertaste, not sure if alcoholic at all, could be from the flowers emitting a floral flavor. Overall, did not like this drink because the flowers were soggy and their flavor overpowered the drink. The milk and jelly were great by themselves, so I enjoyed the top half of my cup.

Really yummy mango pomelo shave ice dessert. Good texture and flavor, enjoyed it lots.

This place was PHENOMENAL! Everything we got was great! Service was awesome, food and ambiance was on point! I went with my friend Dani went and it was amazing. We started with their lychee rose drinks served in a cute donut shaped drink holder with a strap! It was cute and so tasty! Must get it if you go! Then they have a wide variety of hand made dumplings. We tried the pork and leek dumplings and the soup dumplings and they were amazing! We also had the seafood lo mein! This is another must try! It was delicious! Even though we were stuffed we still got dessert! The mango snowflake dessert was fabulous! A mountain of shaved ice, with condensed milk and fresh mango! Absolutely perfect! If you are in Chinatown, seek out Autea! It's a little off the main Chinatown square but they have a robust menu and so worth the visit. Nice big dining room too!

Been back twice already within a week. Initially came because I was craving bingsu but ended up trying their food options and was pleasantly surprised. You can order in person or via kiosk/mobile. They have self service reuseable utensils and plates and games station but they still bring food and utensils to your table if you dine in. The food is cozy and warm. They have soupy casserole dishes, crispy rice with braises, dry stir fry options, and smaller snack dishes. All are perfect for an individual to dine or friends to share. Most entrees have veggies, meat and carbs rolled into one dish. They also have some combo specials that include a free drink sometimes. I got a crispy rice entree with an osmanthus milk tea. Their milk tea and other dessert options are also great and unique. Lots of fruity and floral options. The store is gives cute cafe vibes and sometimes hosts small businesses owners to sell merch. The only downside is the parking situation. They have a lot but it's usually very full.

The size of the shaved ice was HUGE. Great value and good for 3-4 people. I wish they were more generous with the pomelo though, they didn't give us much. Overall tasted good, nice atmosphere, and quick service. Board games and crane machines are available, and different TV shows are on display.

Almost 2 years later and this is still my favorite go to spot for shaved ice!! I also really like their drinks. They have plenty of options to choose from. Their decorations are also nice. They should be open until midnight every day

AUTEA has become one of our go-to spots in Chinatown, especially on hot summer days. Their shaved ice is refreshing and full of flavor. The shop is clean and welcoming, and the staff are friendly. I also like that they have board games available, so you can hang out and play while enjoying your shaved ice.

Whenever I'm craving for snow ice dessert, I'm glad to know there's a go-to place to get one. Plus is it has its own parking. Personally I prefer the mango over strawberry. Strawberry comes with red bean. I typically like red bean bingsoo but the red bean wasn't good.

We saunter up to our chosen restaurant only to find a sign on the door that says, "closed for private event." Did I mention I was hangry? My husband suggests Jake Melnick's. It was within walking distance ... did I mention it was raining that night? And I was hangry? I was game for anything at that point. We arrived and waited probably four minutes for a table. A couple of the adults ordered a beer, the others ordered a Coke. We ordered a large pretzel and our mains. The pretzel was so good. All the meals were outstanding (a sliced brisket sandwich, some wings, chicken tenders, onion rings and a burger). Service was great. It was a little loud when we first arrived as there was an intense Illinois State basketball game on but as soon as the game ended, it was much quieter. We really enjoyed our meal at Jake's!

I had the single cheeseburger and it lived up to the hype. I learned that the single burger is actually a double and the double is actually a triple. I was recommended to add an egg and bacon to the burger and I'm glad I did. Each bite was a glorious burst of flavor. The bacon is epic. Thick juicy slices. The cheeseburger was perfect. I didn't need additional condiments and that never happens for me. The fries were good too and came with a delicious aioli. For beverages, I loved my Arnold Palmer. I also tried a cocktail--the Long Island Iced Coffee. It was pretty strong. I added a shot of bourbon cream to it and that sweetened it up and made it perfect for me. Unfortunately, I didn't have room for dessert. Cute restaurant. Cozy inside. They have an outdoor patio as well. If you don't have a reservation, be prepared to wait. Excellent food. Excellent service. Jennifer took great care of me and made great suggestions. It's pricy but it's worth it.

The process of getting seated through a busy period, and the service throughout was excellent. But as often happens with me, the food didn't live up to the hype. My wife and I were picking up my brother and his son from O'Hare at around 10 am on a Saturday. We had dinner plans with our uncle, but had not planned anything in between. The flight came in on time, and once confirmed we all had the time, my brother suggested going to Chicago to try Au Cheval. He knew about their location LV, but none of us had tried their original location in Chicago. So we drove into Chicago, arriving at the restaurant at 11 (it opens at 10am). There was a check-in stand set-up outside, where someone was taking names/phone numbers to put on the waiting list. We were quoted a 45 minute wait, and got the text to hurry back after about 30 minutes. There was a line to put your name down on the list, so we skipped that by going right in. The friendly hostess seated us in a booth, with a nice view of the kitchen where they were making the burgers in mass. The waitress explained that a single burger meant two patties (each patty is 4 oz, so basically a half pound burger), and a double meaning three. My brother and his son both ordered a double cheeseburger ($19.99 each), and I got a single with added sunny side up egg ($21.48). I wanted my wife to be able to take a bite, so asked for everything to be on the side (sauce, dill pickle slices, and grilled onion bits). We also ordered french fries ($8.99), cooked in duck fat. In the meanwhile, followed a fellow yelpers suggestion and got two Allagash Whites ($9 each) for me and my nephew. It's a really good beer that I've had many times during happy hour, and goes great with rich, greasy food. My wife got something else: the General Janes Chicken, which is their version of Korean Fried Chicken ($24.98). She enjoyed it (the coating was still crispy, and the sauce had that pronounced kochujang flavor that we like). Everything is a la carte here (except for the complementary pickle spear with burgers), so she shared in the ordered fries. Food came out together and was served hot. There is a mandatory 3.25% surcharge, and payment is taken at the table. As mentioned, service was excellent throughout. To be honest, I'm not the right person to judge a burger like this (I like it backyard style, with a lot of lettuce, tomato, onion, and pickles...and mayo/ketchup). But my brother and nephew are (they have tried many, many burgers all across the world, and don't like too much toppings on their burger), and they said the burger was just OK for them. I liked the frites (cooked in duck fat)...very light in color, but still crispy on the outside. However, nobody else really ate them, saying they weren't great. It's unusual for me to be the least critical after dining, but I'm sure it had something to do with the observation that I didn't have to pay for it (since it was my brother's treat).

Listen, listen, listen, Linda, the onion rings; Do Not Change Them!!! Don't you dare switch to those battered, frozen, chain-restaurant rings of bull-s. These are the good rings. Now, the wangzzzz. I'm not going to pretend these are the absolute best wings in the entire city, but they are absolutely in the "I will randomly crave these on a Tuesday" category. The meat could use a little marinade situation to bring more flavor inside, but that crispy coating holds up to the sauce like a champ. I like it, I like it, I like it. Extra points for a buffalo sauce that actually has some thickness to it and isn't just "here's some hot sauce, on a wing being called buffalo sauce. Now, I am going to need to try some of the other wing sauces, but if they hold up too. I would rather come here than go to some other well known wing spots. I heard off this place from an Instagram video from a food blogger. There wasn't initially seating when we first got in, but the bartender/hostess helped us make a makeshift table. We also didn't have a chair so she had to go find a chair and she found one so really appreciate her hustle. The wings came out pretty quickly, the honey barbecue wings were really sweet, and came with a substantial amount of sauce. The ranch was impeccable. It was not too thin and came with celery. The birds nest hot sauce was relatively hot for a medium. I was definitely feeling the spice after two or three. I think there was a little too much sauce on the wings for me, personally, but overall very good. The volume is really loud because everyone was there for the game, so we kinda had to yell over each other to have a conversation.
