I hired them to fix a sloping issue on my roof. Initially, their subcontractors did the complete wrong job, not fixing slope whatsoever. I understand that mixups happen so I was patient. Then after multiple no-shows and one time they showed up when we couldnt do the job, they did work and claimed the job was complete. They did not put back the tiles, left trash all over the balcony, and tracked all sorts of mud in the house. I could live with this, but the next time it rained, water poured through the roof. Prior to them working on the roof, there was no water pouring through ever, so they literally made the problem worse. Their employee and someone who appears to be the head of their subcontracting crew came out and each had a different opinion on what the problem was. They claimed to have fixed the issue and offered to paint over the damaged part their leak caused. Already this was a terrible experience but i was patient hoping they would fix the issue. I paid the remaining invoice, but in the latest rain storm water came pouring through on multiple locations. I have really tried to be patient because I understand that home services is a tough business but at this point I cannot trust them and their cheap subcontractors to complete the job properly. And I have no idea how much mold and rot there is in my ceiling as a result of their shoddy work. I really hope they will make this right and I hate to have to leave such a bad review, but several months in I have a roof that is worse off than before and I simply do not know if i can trust them to fix the issue. read more

Post for chimney repairs. Austin Roofing and Construction did a great job, with quick service, and at a fair price. A woodpecker had gone to town on the trim of our chimney, and we not only needed someone who would repair it, but also install HardiePlank so that the bird could not do further damage. There were at least three groups I contacted who would not do the repairs. Austin R&C said they could do exactly what we wanted, and they got the repairs scheduled right away. The next day they showed up and got the job done quickly. They removed the old trim on all sides, installed the trim we wanted, and matched and painted the trim. Tim was one of the first tradesmen I worked with when I moved to Austin almost 7 years ago and he really set the bar for working with me as a trusted advisor for home maintenance. I experienced a leak in my hallway that was a pretty straightforward repair, but Tim performed an overall inspection of the roof which identified the need to replace a couple of turbines and make minor shingle repairs in other areas. As a result, my roof has been fine until this recent bout of storms, including our freeze back in February, has revealed a leak in one of the bedrooms. Gave me a crummy roof that didn't pass muster on several counts and clearly skipped several of the specific areas of decking I asked them to replace. They blamed it on a sub-contractor and sent a crew out to fix it and did a slightly better job. I inspected it again and it was still crummy in spots. They did a complete re-roofing of a residence which included installing new everything above the ceiling joists, i.e. rafters, plywood sheathing, underlayment, and a metal standing seam roof. One remarkable thing was when the estimator came out to give us a quote, they tried to get on the roof and repair the leak we were having before I even committed to buying the roof through them, despite the roof being in very bad shape and soaking wet from a recent storm.
