[Update] LOA reached out to me after seeing my complaint. They acknowledged that the placement of the scuppers could have been handled better and agreed to issue a refund for the gutter installation. In addition, they assured me that they would send someone to inspect the ponding water if the issue worsens during next year's rainy season. I appreciate that they took customer feedback seriously, and as a result, I've updated my rating from 3 stars to 5 stars. Context: I recently bought a house with a flat roof. This flat roof has 3 major areas. Because the original roof was poorly done, I decided to replace 2 parts of the 3. I hired LOA to install a 135mil TPO roof for this residential house. They came and installed the TPO from October 21 to 25, 2025. The total project costed $18,280. As I just bought the house, I paid the full amount out of my own pocket. My experience with LOA was a bit mixed. I will start from the positive side. Their price was competitive. I got 3 roofers to give me quotes for 80mil TPO and all had great reviews on both Yelp and Google. The highest quote was around $24K and the lowest one was around $16k. LOA's original quote ($16680) was in the middle but was very similar to the lowest one. Additionally, their sales representative was very responsive and helpful and that was one major reason why I chose LOA over the lowest one. After I decided to hire LOA, they even offered me 135mil if I added $1K because they had some leftover 135mil from another commercial project and I decided to take it. Basically the experience before the actual installation started was very positive. However, after the installation actually got started, the experience was mixed. First of all, they changed the crew just a couple of days before the installation because LOA got a big commercial project and that crew was assigned to that commercial project. But they told me the new crew was also experienced and ensured that I didn't need to worry about it. But what happened next didn't seem to show the new crew was that competent -- Initially I was told the whole installation would take 1 day, but in fact, it took the crew 5 days to complete. For me, taking longer time to complete the installation was not a big issue because I'd rather them do it right. Later they told me one of the reasons why the new crew spent so much time was because the new crew actually replaced all 3 parts of the roof rather than just 2 parts. This was a nice surprise since they didn't charge me more for that. But apparently there was a communication issue between LOA and the crew. Additionally, because of the installation delay, the weather changed and we got a bit of rain before the installation was fully completed, but they told me the roof was mechanically sealed so I didn't need to worry about the rain during the installation. When the rain actually came after the entire roof was installed, that was when the problems began. The first problem was the placement of the scuppers: two of them were positioned right above my wooden deck. Whenever it rained, water poured straight onto the deck. After I complained, LOA explained that the original roof had been designed that way. Although they could have positioned the scuppers in different places, they said they simply followed the original design since I hadn't specifically asked for changes. I found this frustrating -- I'm not a professional roofer and as a new homeowner I expected them to use their expertise to warn me about potential issues like this in advance. Unfortunately, they didn't consider the bigger picture when installing the roof. Anyway, as I felt I couldn't entirely blame LOA, I decided to spend additional $600 for them to install a gutter to redirect the water away from the deck. The second problem was ponding water. Even 36 hours after the rain had stopped, I could still see standing waters in at least 3 areas of the roof. One of these spots (number 1 in the photo) was exactly where the original roof had issues. Even worse, two of the ponding areas (number 1 and 2 in the photo) were located on the seams. I raised this concern with LOA again, but they said they wouldn't worry unless the waster remained for more than 4 days -- despite the fact that information from other roofers' websites suggests ponding water could be a concern if it lasts 24-48 hours. LOA told me they would eventually come back and apply some lower-grade TPO over the seams when they had leftover material from other projects. I don't know when they will do it but for now, I'll wait for them to do that since it's not the rainy season yet. I hope it will address the ponding issue. I also plan to monitor the roof during the rainy season in May and June to see if the water persists for more than four days. read more

I recommend LOA without reservation. We very carefully researched who to work with to replace our shingled roof with a metal roof. So expensive and I wanted to make sure we were getting the best quality AND the best value. LOA delivered both. We got estimates from 3 companies. There wasn't much difference in terms of price but LOA's proposal was very straightforward and clear. They were able to start work more quickly than the other companies. Both crews (the one removing the old roof and the one installing the new one) worked quickly and made sure to protect our property as it was all going on. They left our yard spotless. I've had some shifty contractors. These aren't those guys. Johnny knocked on my door after a hail storm and guys, I've got some solicitor fatigue because people knock ALL the time. He stood at a respectful distance and asked if he could take a look at our roof. I had shingles everywhere in my yard so I already knew it was damaged. But he was the first guy to actually want to LOOK at it; they usually give you a card and go off to set an appointment, but the salesmen are far removed from the process of repairs and insurance claims. Johnny got on my roof, showed me the damage, and told me that he believed we could file a hail claim. So I did. And when my adjuster showed up, Johnny came back and pointed out areas of damage that they might otherwise have missed. In truth, him not being there probably wouldn't have gotten my claim denied, but him being there to advocate for repairs definitely helped his own cause and didn't hurt mine. The adjuster approved the claim and I got an entire new roof, decking, vents and.... Gutters. LOA doesn't do gutters, but Johnny pointed out the damage to mine and got it included on my claim. He brought me samples for the gutters and I was able to choose colors that complemented my new roof. The roof was installed within a week of receiving my claim summary and was done in a single day. His crew was out there from 7am to 8pm in 100 degree weather with smiles on their faces. There were two guys looking in my lawn for nails with magnets. The only trash I had in my yard when they finished was a plastic water bottle cap. The gutters were installed two days later by ATX gutter installation and that guy was amazing too. I've never had such an easy installation of anything in my life. It's more difficult to get my husband to take out the trash than getting Johnny and his guys to put on a new roof. Jack was one of the best experiences I've had when working on a big home project like a new roof. First off, he's just an easy going, funny, nice guy. Second, he worked his butt off and was an amazing communicator. I swear I called Jack and before I hung up he was on the roof taking pictures and getting an inspection going with my insurance company to help get hail damage covered. Within a couple weeks, Jack had facilitated the whole thing with insurance and his team and our roof was replaced by an awesome team along with some replacement soffiting, new gutters, and a new vent through the roof for our dryer. He even went around with a big magnet making sure every last nail was picked up. Have yet to find a single nail! We can't say enough nice things about LOA Roofing & Construction and our contact Arthur. Like a lot of people in Austin, we had some hail damage on our roof from the recent Spring storms. After putting off repairs due to a high insurance deductible, we noticed a leak in one of our soffits during some rain recently. We already had a roofer picked out, who is a close, personal friend. However, with several days of rain in the forecast, we were in a hurry to at least patch whatever hole was allowing water to damage the soffit and our guy wasn't available. I emailed Arthur on a Friday evening, and he responded almost immediately and offered to help us temporarily patch our roof. Johnny Wenberg and the LOA roofing team are terrific people, and I am so grateful that we crossed paths. I had scheduled 4 different roofing companies to assess my house damage. They all had 5 star reviews and they all had the same underwhelming assessment of my roof EXCEPT for Johnny. He was the only one who had confidence we could file a claim. He was the only one to find and show me hail damage. He was the only one who wanted to meet the insurance adjuster on inspection day...in rain or shine. And on that day he drove at 7am in pouring rain to my house to meet with the adjuster. Our appointment was abruptly rescheduled 4 hours later, and Johnny still came to the 2nd appointment. After approval, Johnny thoroughly explained the next steps. He has been very attentive, honest, conversational, and informative. When we were ready to start, the team was very flexible with time and could get us scheduled just a few days out. On the day of install, the crew worked nonstop under the brutal Texas sun for 10 hours straight. Johnny sent photos and updates throughout the day. They did a fantastic job and cleaned up thoroughly. I'm a perfectionist so I usually do things myself. Installing a roof is beyond my skill level so had to search for a company to take care of it.
