Just wanted to rekey everything and he proceeded to give his "professional recommendation" to go to Home Depot and buy all new same keyed locks myself. I paid $59 just to get the guy out of my house. I will NEVER call this locksmith service again. Think twice when calling this company. I lost my only car key on a bus during a weekend trip. After reseaching, I ordered some transponder key blanks online. When my keys arrived on a friday afternoon around 5, I called about four other locksmith companies. I was actually able to reach Austin Mobile Locksmith unlike the others. I believe I was speaking with the owner, he was proffesional, attentive and was able provide a quick quote for the services. Austin Mobile Locksmith came out to the the location of the car within a couple of hours and began work. Little did I know that my 1998 GS300 Lexus had a rather complicated process to produce a new funtioning transponder key. The owner himself came out to assist one of his techs at around 9ish with some specialty tool needed for the job. They were at it till very late. They were able to complete the keys and let me drive off the next day. The work was affordable and way faster compared to the price of having the car towed to a dealership and having the dealership create new keys. I wouldnt say it was inexpensive, so be mentally prepared. Austin Mobile Locksmith delivered the value to make the service worth it. They picked up, showed up and delivered! This is the real deal- quoted the (very reasonable) price on the phone, showed up when he said he would, and was fast, courteous, and professional. BUT DON'T BE FOOLED BY OTHERS! Before calling AML, I had called some nameless service that showed up on a Google search. The dispatcher took my information and said she wouldn't be able to quote the job but the tech would when he arrived. I said no thanks. I then contacted AML, spoke with Heath who provided the quote and said he was on his way. But then I received a call from "Justin" who said something about another tech getting tied up and that he was on his way. I asked if he was with "Austin Mobile Locksmith" and he said yes, but something didn't add up. I asked what the business phone number was, and he couldn't provide it. So I called Heath back up at AML and he confirmed it definitely was NOT his company. The next day I got a call from the same company Justin was working with, asking about what service I ended up using. I didn't provide any additional information, but did ask them more about their company. He said he was with "Pros On Call". He was reluctant to give a business address, but finally said it was 111 Anderson Lane D200. I looked it up and Pros On Call seems to be listed at D201. Who knows, might be a legitimate business, but I told them it sounds like a scam. Not only does Austin Mobile Locksmith know their own phone number and address, they are also licensed. My teenage son locked his keys in the trunk of his car and was very anxious to get them out and get on his way. He called me to get advice on what to do. I called Austin Mobile Locksmith because I saw their $10 service call ad. The lady explained that it was $10 to have a tech drive over and then tell my son what it would cost to unlock his car. I specifically ask what the price range would be and since he drives a very common make and model of car I thought I could get an idea what this would cost my son. They lady answering the phone stated that it would be a minimum of $35 but it would depend on how much labor was involved. I gave them my son's contact info. And waited for an update. A few minutes later I get a call from my son. He is calling me from the car and said he just paid this guy $150.00. What labor? Really? They guy was five minutes away from him! It took the technician TWO minutes to open the car! The ad and the conversation with dispatch were deliberately misleading. They charged a naive teenaged college student $150. I believe this warrants "sharing". I told my son to quit school and become a locksmith! read more
