Great tour guide. She was amazing. A lot of info about Austin you wouldn't get on a typical tour

I went on the real Austin tour today, alone. Well, I came out with a bunch of friends. Trace was amazing. I cannot imagine having a better guide. I highly recommend this experience. read more

Loved the itinerary--we saw a lot of Austin in a short amount of time. It was great to be able to go inside the Texas Capital. Our tour guide, Max, was fantastic in knowledge and energy. read more

So much fun and Ike was pretty entertaining for our tour guide. Def recommend for tourists and locals.

I went on a scavenger hunt with Austin Detours as part of a work trip. This one of our fun planned activities together and was my favorite! I was initially worries that since I didn't know much about Austin it would make it difficult to participate yet each activity was tailored in a way no matter what your knowledge was, you could be apert of it. The leader of our group was Kandace who I immediately was having a fun time as soon as I met her and our other leader was Trace. I am super impressed with their leadership styles to walk into a group no knowing the dynamic and launch us into a fun filled afternoon. Trace was very knowledgeable, fair and kept our whole group on track while Kandace had me laughing in the back of the bus for hours. Honestly her wit was something to be reckoned with. Their bright personalities had me on a happiness high that lasted the rest of the day and their commitment to making sure we had our best time in Austin was deeply appreciated. I've never met employees before that were so genuinely commited to their mission whole heartly. We walked away with stickers, recommendation cards, they steered us in the right direction for quick amazing BBQ, all around will not forget. Highlight of my trip. Thank you Kandace and Trace! read more

We were a group of 6 friends visiting Austin for the first time. I contacted Austin Detours and Danielle was very kind and helpful in deciding that a private tour would be a good idea since Austin City Limits was going on that weekend and roads would be busy. Kendalin was our tour guide for our private tour of Austin. Kendalin was fun, knowledgeable and engaging. She provided a great overview of Austin's city and history and great tidbits of info to places we might want to explore on our own. Thank you again Danielle and Kendalin!! read more

Had a short time in Austin and wanted to see the highlights. Joey was an awesome guide, knowledgeable, had brunches of info and trivia, until he briskly brushed aside a lost traveler, not with our group, that asked him a question. Your guides are ambassadors to the city and for someone to not take the time to answer a fellow travelers question, is a bad look. It really made me see Joey, Austin Detours and the city, in a different light. Taking a moment to help someone who was lost shows compassion, kindness and caring. read more

Little did I now that Austin is the music capital of the U.S. So...on my 1st visit here I needed direction and Austin Detours provided just that. The tour went to 3 different venues for music. Of course THE fav was the 2 step bar. So much fun dancing with the older men who are REALLY good at dancing and friendly. The education was great while traveling in the van and of course no issues with driving and finding places as they is what they do. Such a great experience, thank you! read more

Really fun breakfast burrito tour of Austin. Easy and yummy way to get a feel for the city and its culture.

Austin Detours came through for us. We were looking for a custom tour from Austin to Fredericksburg, to visit the National Museum of the Pacific War. Austin Detours came through for us, and set up an all day tour that started with picking us up at our hotel. The paperwork was handled via internet, very easy to set up and certify. Our guide Nick had a wealth of commentary about the hill country of Texas as we drove there. This was an area of Texas we'd never visited before. In addition to getting us to the Museum, he pointed out a wonderful restaurant for our lunch and made the reservations for us. And he was very patient in taking some pictures of us. The Pacific War Museum was a real gem. We are grateful to Austin Detours for making it possible for us to travel out there and see it. A first class operation! read more

Really enjoyed this van tour! This was a perfect tour to introduce us to Austin from the past to present. Holden was awesome! I'm still thinking about the cute little bakery he took us to for a taste of their delicious macarons! That was one of two stops where we got to get out and take pictures. The other was at the capitol building. read more

Do this FIRST when coming to Austin!! Evan was DELIGHTFUL! A great overview of this town and the short tour of the State Capitol is outstanding. Just long enough to familiarize yourself with the town and get the info on where you want to go next for food, entertainment and culture. read more

Our group scheduled the Real Austin Tour. Our guide, Nick, was great. He was at the meeting spot early, he was friendly, and did a good job getting us around the city. The tour was mostly driving with him pointing out different sights and areas of interest. I think the best way to describe it is getting an overview of the major hangout spots/areas, being familiar with where they are and what they offer. He had some good recommendations for food and music venues, which we appreciated. I'm not sure we would have missed any of the areas explored on the tour (6th street, east Austin, Rainey, south Congress). It's still nice to be able to focus on taking it all in and looking for interesting places while someone else is driving though. There are details and trivia that he provided that would be missed as well, had we gone on our own. read more

We absolutely loved our tour with Kandace. We took the tour with our UT student and we all got so much interesting insights into life in Austin. She even bought us a pastry! The tour was fun, informative and memorable. Thank you! read more

Avery was a entertaining and thorough guide for our tour of Austin. Just the right amount of inside information and history to make this tour very enjoyable! Spending time inside the State Capitol building was a great experience. We got to see and hear stories about a wide variety of Austin's culture including music, food, architecture, university campus, history and politics. The "sweet" treat at the end along with the photo in front of the "Austin postcard" mural was a perfect ending. Would highly recommend this tour! read more

I was in town and set up a live music tour with Austin detours It was an awesome experience. Booking was simple online and our guide joe was awesome From start to finish he was helpful knowledgeable and accommodating. We took a quick weekend getaway for my wife's 50th Birthday with a few family members to Austin, TX. We had booked several tours around the city, but I must shoutout one of the best guides (If Not the Best) I've had on any tour. Our tour guide (Jax) was excellent with the best personality and energy that made our City Highlights Tour one of the best tours we have taken on any of our vacations. Jax's knowledge of the city's history and all of the hot spots to see on the tour and even more was shown. I was so glad the tour van had a great AC because of the heat of Texas. High recommend that if and Austin please visit Austin Detours and hopefully you are able to get a tours to Jax's. read more

Terrific tour ( half day wine tour) and Kelty was the best tour guide. Fun and informative and a great way to explore the hill country and discover Texan wine. Everyone had so much fun! Highly recommended. read more

We went on two tours with Austin Detours, both with Steve and had a good time. The two hour city tour is very worth it to get an idea of the different areas of Austin, some history and a tour of the Capitol which was a nice treat. Nothing was rushed, just the right amount of time at the stops. The Salt Lick and wine tour was also nice. Although, we were very disappointed in the beef ribs at the Salt Lick after all the type for this restaurant, (that is not Steve's fault), the wineries Steve selected were quite nice. Both with excellent wine, views and atmospheres. Should we be in the Austin area again, we would definitely take another tour with Steve! read more

We took the Austin Detours All About Austin 2 hour tour today with Marty. We had a great time! Marty was very knowledgeable and accommodating, and we learned a lot in a short time, while also figuring out where we want to go during our stay. Highly recommend doing this tour when you first get to Austin! read more

hands down a blast! Best tour ever and the wineries were so great! Already ordered a case!

We did the Ultimate Austin Scavenger Hunt for a team building event and it was amazing! Each of the staff members was so much fun and they did a great job of mixing in some indoor activities to escape the heat. Our tour guide, Kandace, was hilarious and really kept everyone engaged. I would love to try some of their other experiences in the future. I think our entire group had a great time. Highly recommend! read more

We had a wine tour with Kelty, she was awesome! Wonderful knowledge of Austin and fantastic recommendations on what to do/see in the city.

Holy cow! This was an excellent peek at Austin's music scene. I'm a musician, and I was a bit worried that the tour would take us to the party scene on East Sixth. Nope. We hit the real joints. Ike was great: funny, friendly, informative. Hell, he remembered everyone's names. He even sent links to other stuff that I asked him about. What a great ambassador for Austin, the music scene, and your company. And the driver was wonderful, too. The van was terrif and cozy. The other folks on the tour were fellow travelers. This tour did not disappoint. It lived up to the marketing and exceeded our expectations. read more

My husband and I went on the Hill Country BBQ & Wine Shuttle tour and loved it. Evan was an amazing guide / chauffeur. He was funny, informative and a great photographer, lol. On the drive to and from the BBQ and vineyards, he would point out unique things about Austin which was great to hear and learn about. He also took the time to ask us what we were all interested in seeing and doing while we were all visiting and gave us each personalized recommendations for places to eat or to go visit which was really going above and beyond. We were from Dallas so we were somewhat familiar with Austin, but there were people from Colorado, Minnesota and Kentucky so I'm sure they appreciated getting some suggestions if they had some free time. The BBQ at the Salt Lick was wonderful and it was such a cool place overall. We also enjoyed both vineyards, but we definitely liked the Duchman Family Winery more than the Fall Creek Vineyards, but that was just our personal preference. Evan also made a point of taking pics of each of us in our group at the vineyards which I really appreciated since my husband and I don't usually get the opportunity to get those pics taken. Overall, this was a wonderful tour, but Evan definitely made it even more special. read more

My boyfriend and I took this tour for our one year anniversary, and it was fantastic. We started the day at the Salt Lick for some amazing tx BBQ, which was perfect because we didnt start day drinking on an empty stomach. Then we visited two amazing wineries that had fantastic choices and they were so beautiful. The day wouldn't have been made without the tour guide though. Jax was the perfect tour guide! She was informative, entertaining, and gave AMAZING recommendations of what to eat/drink (she changed my life with the pecan pie recommendation). She made sure we had an awesome time, that we stayed on schedule, and that everyone in the group was trying something new. Would HIGHLY recommend!!! read more
