Are t they yummy looking?!! That's because they are!!

So this little gem was found by mistake but some mistakes are made to be! This isn't your typical cake spot, as in the name, they serve cake balls but these cake balls are so good you won't want to share. I sadly don't live locally but the day I received an order in the mail, I truly knew what love was. If you are ordering online don't be fooled by the 2-4 options - you can specify in the memo what flavors you'd like - my favorite in the oreo & lemon, and I can say I've tried all but the red velvet just because red dye flavoring doesn't sit well on my palette. And let's not forget that should you buy a tin, you get a discount when you bring your tin back to be refilled. Seriously - go get you a cake ball from here and thank me later.

OMG! If you don't know what to get, just get the Southern Blueberry Pie Sundae! It is sooooooooooo good. I wasn't expecting much, but it is AMAZING! I can definitely eat the whole thing but you can share it and still be satisfied. We also got the Hot Mess. That was good too. Definitely coming back here!

Superior service! The container they come in can be reused. That is a great perk. We had them for my daughter's bday and one of my son had them for bday too. They are absolutely delish! So many flavors to choose from. This is a must check place if you go thru Austin.

Thank you Austin Cake Ball!!!

One of my favorite go to dessert gifts for many that cross my path! Perfect Bite size packed with flavorful sweetness to your liking!! They have quite a few cake ball selections. Which are prepared and ready to be packed in a refillable copper style tin!!! Total win!! Bring your tin back and refill!! Today I went to their bakery and totally walked away cake ball happy. I've also ordered on line on previous occasions and delivery was completed has planned.

Good lookin groom, Texas collection, and assortment (all half eaten)

I live in NY and had the cake balls delivered to my fiancé and his bachelor party staying in Austin! I wanted to do something nice for him and needed to act quickly! I ordered a few dozen of the cake balls and they were seriously hand delivered to him within an hour and a half! They came so nicely packaged and the good lookin groom collection was soooo cute! I am so appreciative of the quick delivery and that fact that I got to surprise him with a little something special! All the guys were raving about how tasty they were!

Chocolate, Cherry Almond, and Chocolate Espresso, with one of the latter conveniently in my tummy.

They really have balls. Cake balls, that is. I ordered a batch of these the other day by using a Groupon, as I think a lot of other Yelpers did. Three kinds of balls I got: Chocolate, Chocolate Espresso, and Cherry Almond. So this morning I drove over there to pick them up. It was on my way to another errand, so why bother paying for delivery? Austin Cake Ball sure is hard to find. I drove down the little street behind the Hobby Lobby and pulled into where Cake Ball was actually located, but I didn't see any signs anywhere because I had a case of the stupids. So I drove on over to Cap City Comedy Club, to no avail. Then I drove down the road going the other direction, and that's when I saw the little sign that said, "CAKE BALL" with arrows pointing the way (pathetic Yelp won't let me make arrows in my review). I followed the signs until I found a parking spot. Cake Ball is in the corner of the shopping center, suite 104. I chit-chatted with the ultra-hot counter guy (UHCG) for a short while about how their balls compare to Holy Cacao's. My inner juvenile couldn't stop silently laughing about the sexual connotation of the word "balls" and how I was comparing one guy's balls to another guy's balls. I've never been to Holy Cacao, and since Cake Ball charges about the same price, I have no reason to go to Holy Cacao. UHCG pointed out cake balls in the display case that looked like basketballs, and others that had the New Orleans Saints' logo. I said, "I'll come back in the fall and get some Dallas Cowboys balls." Heh. Saying that to UHCG, I almost felt like I was at a sperm bank. Other than the footballs, I don't really see myself ordering any cake balls in the future, unless I'm getting them as a gift for someone else. The Chocolate Espresso cake balls are good, but a little dry. I think they need some espresso icing in between layers of the cake. The Cherry Almond balls are my favorite so far. They have some icing in there, with pieces of fresh cherry and, of course, almonds involved. I haven't tried the straight Chocolate [salty] balls yet, so I can't comment on those. And hopefully they won't be salty. Heh.

After my cake ball snafu, I had decided I just wasn't that "into" them. Maybe it was me...I could understand if our love wasn't meant to be. Then Ben found me on Yelp and my cake ball opinion changed. He knew I was hurt from a previous experience, and delighted me with his knowledge of Cake by Bridges beginnings and business designs. I was very impressed that someone would go out of their way to contact me and show me what real cake balls could taste like. Let me tell you, after my first bite, I was swooning. German Chocolate cake balls tasted exactly like a German chocolate cake. They were moist and soft inside. The Red Velvet cake ball had 2 distinct tastes... the white icing and the cake. I could taste both flavors in my mouth. Honestly, I tried a few more and I'm not proud of my gluttony in the car after our meeting. Besides the amazing taste, the actual beauty of these balls are exquisite. Take a look at their website. This is something that could give wedding cupcakes a run for their money. Petite, delicious and beautiful. Hopefully these guys will be showing up around town in the near future. Keep your eyes peeled, follow them on Twitter and screw your diet with the best cake balls in Austin.

In the interest of saving time and not developing carpal tunal while writing my review, I am henceforth shortening "Austin Cake Ball(s)" to just "ball(s)". Onward- this is my first experience with balls, and what a great one it was. Thanks a bunch to Kelly for the invite to the 2nd anniversary party. There were balls everywhere. The balls were all quite good- moist and flavorful, and suprisingly dense. (Think of a cupcake smashed into the size of a ganache truffle, then dipped in a fabulous chocolate shell.) The salted caramel flavor was definitely my favorite. Ok, I admit, this whole review is tailored towards me being able to legitimately say "chocolate salty balls" in a review. However, that doesn't change the fact that these things are delicious and highly recommended, if you're in the mood for cake. Or balls.

I have a correction to make. The Ispahan and the double chocolate cupcakes at Cupcake 2.0 were credited to the incorrect baker. The baker of those scrumptious cupcakes are actually Devrah, and no, you cannot get those commercially. As much as that breaks my heart, I think I can recover. I found out about this mistake when Ben and Stacey read my review, and informed me that they were not the bakers of this cake. They even graciously met me out of their own time and presented me with a box of assorted cake balls: peanut butter, Italian creme, red velvet, banana, and chocolate. These little gems were absolutely gorgeous, almost too pretty to eat. See pictures above. Delicate and tasty, these treats are perfect for any occasion or gifts. The Italian cream cake ball I had was just luscious. The outer coating was firm, but not hard. The inside was super moist and flavorful. I think I'm over my Isaphan crush. The cake balls are made with crumbled cake mixed with butter cream frosting. Then they are hand molded, dipped in confectioner's chocolate, and then artfully decorated. They look like truffles, but they aren't. You might think that these might be overly sweet, but they are just right. The advantages of these 2 bite treats over cupcakes or bigger desserts is that they aren't huge (who needs a gigantic dessert?), they are small so you can get multiple ones without eating sick, and they make easy-to-eat pretty gifts. While Cake by Bridges does not currently have a retail store (coming soon though), we can all hope and pray.

So many cake ball options! Got a few dozen with different flavors for a shower and all were a hit. It's a bit expensive but well worth it.

I love cake balls, but these weren't that good. Consistency was fine, but they lacked sugar oddly enough. Very disappointed.

Is this a great birthday @ the office for a guy thing?

Not sure about a guy thing. It was great for a group. I can't answer without knowing the guy. It's just cake balls, not a gift.

Lent is a 40-day period of spiritual preparation for Easter, beginning on Ash Wednesday (symbolizing the need for repentance) and ending before Easter. Its main goals are reflection, repentance, and renewal. After observing Lent, our treat was brunch at Ciclo (Four Seasons Hotel). Ciclo hosted Easter Brunch and an Easter Egg hunt including the hotel's lake-level ballroom. The celebration included live music and lawn activities for hotel and brunch guests. The brunch included a cold buffet, hot buffet, carving station, benedict station, and dessert buffet. You also could order customized omelets from your table. Ciclo's brunch features gluten-free and vegetarian choices. OMG...the Four Season's Hotel and Ciclo restaurant looked as though a lush bright flowered garden had been quietly grown there. Flowers spilled over every surface from the hotel's entrance to the Ciclo restaurant out onto the patio. The floral arrangements were stunning. They also served as a beautiful backdrop for photos. In addition, we ran into ole friends at brunch, which was a pleasant surprise. The standout for us was the lamb chops (one of my favorites) and callosal-sized shrimp. The sweet potatoes and ham were memorable as well with perfectly spiced sweet potatoes. All desserts were good today, however, the Oreo cheesecake and sugar cookies were the highlights.
