Payment was easy and their customer service team is so fast to respond to emails. The pickup was right in the middle of their estimated 3-day window. The driver will meet you in a large parking lot for pickup (ie Home Depot, Walmart, etc). They were nice enough to come to a big lot in the Domain right by my house! Took all of 5 minutes to hand off the car. Best of all, my car was delivered SUPER fast. It arrived to Detroit two days after the pickup, way ahead of the 5-7 day ETA. I worked primarily with Jake J., who was responsive, honest, and patient. He guided me through the process and followed up with me after we spoke on multiple occasions. When I asked him about a cheaper quote that I had received from a different moving company (they do their best to match quotes), he was honest with me about that particular company's reputation, providing me with links to unbiased and credible reviews (which were consistently poor and unfavorable). I know that some people may think that Jake was just trying to get my business, but he told me this: "Even if you don't use us, I would urge you not to use them. I'd be happy knowing that in the end you are in good hands even if it's not us." The main thing I gained from my interactions with Cross Country Movers was more knowledge. Moving can be stressful and confusing, but after speaking with Jake and asking him all sorts of questions, I feel much more confident in making moving decisions and choices. I truly felt taken care of with Jake. He was like my moving guardian angel! From the first encounter on-site to the last, I had only bad interactions and even worse results. I was completely taken advantage of after being left in a bad predicament. They handled my belongings very poorly which resulted in a large amount of damage. They underestimated the job so much that my young niece had to drive a 26ft rental truck herself. I even made an error in scheduling the pickup which they helped correct at short notice. Terms and conditions were clearly communicated. I was allowed 100lbs of trunk storage so that was a plus! (FYI: S2S is an agent and not the carrier itself.) They also provided a limited $100k insurance for the car (with some terms) included in the quote. They would not assume liability for any items stored in the car itself and that's perfectly understandable in context of the nature of the move. The carrier contacted me separately and coordinated a pickup. They too were very polite and communicative. The trailer understandably could not be driven into residential areas, so I had to drive out a few miles to meet the transporter both at Austin and San Diego. Based on my experience, I would highly recommend their services.

I'm not sure who contacted who, but the day after Trico was supposed to show up and rescheduled (the day after my first review), Johnny a general manager reached out to me and literally saved the day. As I mentioned, the biggest concern that led to my review was two pronged: (1) lack of communication, follow though, and an unapologetic approach and, (2) leaving me stranded to hire alternate movers in a pinch and cancel a business trip. Johnny fixed it all. He was sincere and honest in his apology to me, worked diligently to fix the errors on Trico's end, rescheduled my move for the following day, communicated every step of the way, and made sure we reached an agreement that seemed fair for both parties in light of what occurred. Our belongings even arrived safely in Seattle a couple days early! I had planned to wait until the move was complete to update this review, and now that it is I can confidently say these guys are all they're cracked up to be. Our possessions were wrapped carefully, marked, labeled, and organized on both the front and back end. Johnny stayed in contact with me, constantly checking in. And their prices are beyond competitive. I can't recommend them enough. I just wish I knew Johnny personally so I could give him a hug. I hope someone from Trico sees this and gives him a raise.
