This is a classic scammy shipping service that lures you in with a very attractive price, Lies to you to convince you to pay a deposit , and then makes you pay significantly higher or a crazy cancellation fee. This is the crux of it, but I'll write it more detail below Many services are like this but I find this one especially deceptive. All the people with fake names (I mean "Chris brown"? Really?) are in a call Center in India. They reached out to me telling me that my shipment was going to be $775 door-to-door. No additional fees. They required $150 deposit and told me that the balance would be $625. They were super pushy and constantly texting me / calling me. Unfortunately, I was in a rush to get the car shipped and I didn't read the fine text in the deposit agreement. Hidden in there, it says that the quoted price is only an "estimate based off previous history". What does basically means is they can quote you whatever they want and then the final price is much higher. The day of pickup they told me it was going to be $1,400 ($1,250 plus the deposit I already paid). I came to find out through a friend who can see shipment posting and bids - they actually put my request (supposed to $775 total) at $1095. So they were already advertising it at $320 over what they quoted me... After a lot of back and forth they agreed to a total of $1100 ($950 plus what I had already paid). They also told me the car would be there by "the weekend for sure" and it didn't arrive until late Monday , in the evening and not even to the correct pickup address All in all, avoid. I spoke to Fast Auto ship today about moving my car. I had been scammed this week by a company called All States Car Movers, LLC. They are out of Plano, Tx. I was quoted $375 to pick up a car in NY and send to Illinois. The day of pickup I received a call from All States and they informed me the driver wanted $900.00 + dollars to ship my car. I had asked All States numerous times if the $375 dollar charge would be the final price. No extras, no surprises. Multiple times they guaranteed me the $375.00 price. Obviously I did not do business with them.. Today I am talking to Fast Auto Ship. (Michael Wood, not his real name). I'm thinking that these employees may be working out of a call center in India. Mr. Wood guaranteed me pretty much the same service at $375.00. According to Mr. Wood, this was an all inclusive amount. No driver charges. Like the last place, $100.00 down, pay the balance upon receipt of the car, Woods told me he could do it cheap because they would be using a 9 car trailer. More cars equal lower rates. This sounded much like the last car carrier. Pure BS. By the way Fast Auto Ship has a F rating with the BBB. I have seen some positive reviews for Fast Auto. Not sure if they are real customers or phantom customers. I'll use them and give them a good review if they don't try to screw me. I'll even take this post down. Maybe they have some unscrupulous employees working there. This industry has a lot of issues. By the way, all their letters that are sent back to customers who complain, are form letters. All of a sudden it's not a contract it's an agreed estimate but you can't back out without a $200 cancelation charge! Complete headache, complete bad business. EDIT: I learned a lot from shipping my car, and unfortunately FastAuto Ship LLC was the worst part of the experience. First thing to know: most of these "shipping companies" are really just dispatchers/brokers. They are not the actual car haulers or truck drivers. The price you're quoted is often an estimate, but the way they word it is extremely vague and buried in fine print. They do not clearly explain that your "agreed price" can change after you sign. Here's how it went for me: I called and was told they had a driver and the price would be $475, and that my car could be delivered in about three days. They sent a contract stating the agreed amount, a $100 deposit, and the remaining balance due in cash to the driver upon delivery. The estimated delivery date made sense because delays happen, but nowhere was it clearly stated that the PRICE was also only an estimate. The second I signed and paid the deposit, everything changed. Suddenly they "didn't have a driver" and said they were having trouble finding one because my quote was "too low." I was literally told it would be the "humble thing to do" to raise my budget to meet what drivers wanted. When I questioned why the price changed after I signed, they said it was always an estimate and that driver availability and pricing change constantly. Basically, the exact opposite of what I was told on the phone. You also can't easily walk away once you realize what's happening. Hidden in the contract is a $200 cancellation fee, and they are very quick to remind you of that as soon as you start pushing back. It really feels like you're stuck and they know it. I tried waiting a couple days to see if a driver would accept something close to the signed amount, but I had a deadline and needed my car delivered when I arrived. We ended up paying $900 total instead of $475. And even after that, once the driver picked up the vehicle, he called asking for even more money, saying dispatch had given incorrect details about the vehicle and route. To make it worse, FastAuto Ship even called me on the day of delivery trying to get me to pay another $100 on my credit card and give the driver $800 cash. At that point it felt like they were trying to squeeze money from both sides. I refused and stuck to what I had already paid and agreed to. They are now harassing me to take down my google review! The company has called three times and text me to take it down, I will not answer or take anything down! The only positive thing I can say is that my car arrived in one piece with no damage. But the stress, arguing, time wasted, and extra money I had to pay was unreal. I told the driver that Fastauto Ship even tried to get another $100 out of me and short change him, he said it happens all the time and to leave bad reviews for them...I said boyyyyy already done and done!! I was given a price to pick up my car and a date for the pickup. By the time everything was said and done, the price had almost doubled. They try to lock you in by offering a low initial quote, even though they haven't secured a driver. Once they finally find one, the driver gives a higher price. They've clearly been doing this for a long time and know they can't honor the original quote. It's not realistic -- it's a scam to lock you in. I also told them I needed the car picked up on Monday and delivered by Friday. They assured me it would be picked up Monday and arrive Wednesday or Thursday. The driver they selected then had car issues. After that, they claimed they found another driver, but he wouldn't be available until Thursday or Saturday. I told them neither option worked. They are extremely rude first and foremost. The first person we spoke with did not speak clear English and couldn't understand it. We were trying to ship a 2025 Chevy Trax and he kept saying 2014 Honda. My mother who is 70, battling cancer got frustrated and asked to speak with someone. Yes, she did yell. She's tired. And the mockery on their end only frustrated her more. I took over the phone call and went outside to de-escalate the situation. Received a quote to ship a motorcycle from Florida to South Carolina for $425.00. This was about mid range from quotes received. Company had an overall good review on here. Once contract was signed and paid a $150.00 deposit received a call from company Rep Chris Brown. He proceeded to tell me he had a driver for my schedule date. Driver wanted over $600.00 at time of delivery making the total price of $700.00. I declined and said that was not the agreed upon price. Chris said that the price was just an estimate and could change. The contract only says date of pickup and delivery may change. He then called back again stating he found another driver this time he said he negotiated down to $425 cash at delivery, again well above the stated price. He did state he would give me a credit for $100.00. I again said no and to cancel the contract since I was being give. The bait and switch tactic. He then wanted a cancellation fee to cancel. Again I said no. He then requested some time to find another driver. Since there was no language in the contract providing term for date of service I was stuck. It also states that the company is not responsible for storage fees, etc. To avoid extra fees potentially charged I said let's just get the bike shipped. He then call back stating he found a driver that wanted $475 at delivery. I said ok what about the credit he said he would issue. He then said he had never stated anything about a credit. I was a little hesitant to use Fast Auto Ship when I got a really low quote for the transport of my vehicle. I read a pile of reviews online and most were good with only a few bing 1 star. Most of the 1 star reviews reported a bait and switch operation getting you to sign a contract for a low quote then demanding more money. I took my chances and signed the contract and paid the deposit. A few hours later I got the call asking me to pay more for the transport. I refused and asked for my money back. This turned into a days long event back and forth with Fast Auto Ship's offshore call center. I am led to believe that this entire operation is an offshore call center from my personal experience. I spoke to a few people with the organization over phone, email and text. They tried to strong arm me into paying a higher price. They told me if I did not pay the higher price then I would be charged a $200 cancellation fee. They told me lots of things to try and get me to continue to use their company and pay more. Eventually the decided to refund my deposit as they were not able to fulfill their end of the contract. I had to threaten them with credit card charge backs for them to even agree to refund my money. I'm still awaiting the refund and I will update his review when I get it. I would avoid working with this company if at all possible. If you feel they are the right company for you I would call them and talk to them in person. Make sure they say they are going to do what they are going to do. Do not make the same mistake I made hiring this company!! I needed a car transported and Harris reached out to me stating that the total cost to ship the car would be $245. I told him that the most I will pay is $245, is he sure that he can do it for that amount? Over the phone he stated he has a driver that is willing to transport my car for that amount, but he would need me to sign the contract with-in 15 minutes because the person that approves the contract was leaving. I, therefore, foolishly signed the contract. After a couple days of going back and forth with him increasing the price, I finally had to settle with $400. I told him that if he could not find a driver for $245 then the deal is off. He then told me that I would have to pay for breach of contract, even though it was him misleading. I felt like this was my only option. He wanted me to pay more than $500, but after much negotiating and him threatening me, we agreed to $400. This is a complete bait and switch. The customer service was absolutely horrible. Do not, do not, trust Harris. He is as dirty as they come. He represents the company horribly. He was yelling on the phone, berating, belittling, and trying to humiliate me and make me feel like a complete idiot. At one point he was actually laughing at me. The driver said he would have done it for $1000 total (instead of $1500) if I had contacted them direct which I would recommend. Bottom line is they lie and overcharge. Research a legit broker if you need to ship a car or contact an actual carrier instead of a broker. There are a lot of "lowballers" out there that will get you to give them a "deposit" then you're hooked.
