Horrible Experience - Avoid This Company! I can't express enough how terrible my experience with…read moreCross Country Movers has been. From the start, the communication was absolutely dreadful. Once they picked up my stuff, I never heard a word from them. No updates, no tracking info, nothing. I had no idea where my belongings were or when they would arrive. The worst part? They completely overcharged me. The initial estimate was way lower than the final bill, and they tacked on extra, unexplained fees that were never mentioned during booking. It felt like they were just taking advantage of me at every turn. And now, even though it's been weeks, my stuff still isn't here! No one is giving me a clear answer or timeline. This company is a complete disaster and I wouldn't trust them with a single item, let alone an entire move. Do yourself a favor and find a reputable moving company. Cross Country Movers is an absolute nightmare. PS: I will write an complain everyday on here so people will know till my stuff come and all my stuff needs to come undamaged and nothing missing Sincerely ANTHONY WATKINS !!!

We worked with Matthew Chevalier (sales) as our contract agent, Frank Matthews (AR/AP) for the payment, and John Mendes (Operation Team) to coordinate for the move. They all provided comprehensive explanations about the respective step in the move, and were helpful and patient beyond our expectations. Highlight of our move were: 1. No change in the price: Unlike what we had heard about notorious moving companies, with this company there was no change in the contract price. They gave us a quote according to our inventory when I first called, and did not charge extra in any other step. 2. Great packers: On the pick up date, a professional team packed our furniture in an indestructible way. 3. Transparent process: We received an email as soon as the 18 wheeler carrying our furniture left the source city, and received updates about the whereabouts of the truck on its way. 4. Early delivery: On the pick up date we were given a delivery window for delivery within up to 14 business days. They delivered our furniture only 9 days (business and non-business) after the pick up date. 5. No damage to furniture: The delivery was perfect with no damage to our furniture or any of the boxes and their contents. We strongly recommend cross country moving company (DOT 2626333) for long distance moves and will definitely call them for our next big move.

We hired Five Star Logix on 08/12/2024 to transport a mobile home trailer from Iraan, TX, to Chapel…read moreHill, NC. The initial quote was $4,951, but we requested a winch for safe loading/unloading, increasing the cost by $650 to $5,601. Communication issues began immediately. Five Star Logix set a delivery date for Tuesday, August 27, but on Monday, August 26, they notified us--just 30 minutes in advance--that the trailer was about to arrive, and without the requested winch. This caused a last-minute scramble, as our unloading arrangements weren't scheduled until the next day. We managed to secure a truck with a hitch, but unloading without a winch was risky, frustrating, and resulted in the trailer bottoming out. Afterward, we contacted Five Star Logix about the issues. They admitted fault but initially offered only a $100 refund. After a lengthy email exchange, they increased the offer to $300, claiming the remaining $350 was a non-refundable deposit to Shiply, the third-party service we used to book the job. We accepted the initial $300 refund, and began correspondence with Shiply. However, Shiply clarified that they are a neutral service and were not responsible for refunds, that we would need to work it out with the transportation provider. They gave us the breakdown of fees to Shiply, however, which indicated 14.3% of the total amount went to them. Based on our calculations, roughly $556.93 of the $650 winch fee went to Five Star Logix. We requested a compromise refund of $256.93 on November 10th (less the $300 already refunded) and they promised to look into it further. It's now December 21 and we have not heard back. Five Star Logix failed to deliver services, miscommunicated repeatedly, lied to both us and the delivery driver, and dragged us through a frustrating 39-message exchange. Despite admitting fault, they refused to fully refund the $650 we paid for a winch they never provided. This experience has left us feeling frustrated, tired, and ripped off.
