Good old school doughnuts. And they have crullers every day. Clean oil. Fresh tasting donuts. Nice selection. I've had the brand of ice cream they carry here, though I have not had it here. But it is a good brand. Nice, solid "the way it used to be" donut shop.

Im a sucker for a good donut but I will drive hours for a good donut hole! These were the best of my life!!! So many options and the honey glazed are insanely delicious! The staff was patient with my slow decision making and very pleasant. Will be back for that big honey glazed and more holes!!!

Bad customer service over priced stale donuts if you want to be treated like you are in Walmart with the same cardboard taste go here

The past five visits have been stellar and mostly on behalf of The Homie. He often receives extra items due their generosity towards high school and college students. Time for an updated post since I find myself often detouring here versus another doughnut shop in Lynnwood. There's a wide variety of doughnuts available, even from mid afternoon until closing. They also offer discounts after 5pm, 5 for $7. There's also ice cream and milkshakes. No onsite seating, just takeout. No surprise with its North Seattle/Aurora location. Go and support this indie, family run business! Increased from 3 to 4 stars.

Absolutely the best donuts for the price you are going to find in Seattle and I've been all over the little French bakeries and such. Doce bakery is good but hell expensive. The old Laurel which is now moonrise Cafe is hell expensive $6 for one pastry and two flaky to eat anywhere but outside. And not so great on the filling. But when it comes to Aurora donuts you can get four of the best donuts including an apple fritter for under $10. They open a little late but it's worth the wait and they have no problem with a customer base solid. I always get a maple barn, an apple fritter, a lemon filled, and an old fashioned glazed and man if I am not tempted to eat all four at once but I like to save at least two for tomorrow's breakfast. You can do that if you swing by before closing which I think is 7:00 it wrapped them tightly and they'll be just as fresh for tomorrow morning on your dining table. Absolute top recommendation with an extra star or flag if they had it. Easy access to and from Aurora avenue North at 135th Street by the Wells Fargo Bank and just south of The office Depot.

Came to check out Aurora Donuts this afternoon, Sunday 28 May 2023, and found the food items were take out only. We were still allowed to enter the shop to place our orders. After looking over the donut offerings, I went with a honey-dipped donut (ring) and an apple crumb donut (filled). The total was $3.50, I paid with cash and tipped the change. I also received a donut hole, which I would guess was a honey-dipped as well. The worker at the counter was following COVID-19 protocols and was cordial, a barrier was in place between the worker/baked goods area and the customer area. Both the honey-dipped ring donut and the donut hole were very light and fluffy, the donut hole almost too much so for my taste buds. The ring donut was a little less airy. Honey flavor added sweetness without a sugar taste residue, a nice variation for sweet flavor in a donut. Of the three items, I thought the apple crumb donut (which I found out was a filled donut) was the best of the batch. It had toasted coconut on top and was filled with an apple pie-like mixture. I found it to be a satisfying donut both on its own and as a part of the batch.

This place is a 4 star for now with a potential for 5 star as we need to try more things here. We were in the area so we decided to stop by as I'm still on a mission to try as many donut shop in the greater Seattle as I can and this was on my list :) We came around 9:30 in the morning on a Saturday and it was kinda empty at first but after, the regulars came and there was a small line. There's a small parking lot in front and it looks like they serve ice cream as well. After a lot of debate, we decided on the maple bacon donut, the French crueller, and the toasted coconut. Maple bacon (4.5/5), a little pricey at $3.69 but according to my husband 'one of the best maple bacon donut he has eaten'. The sweet and salty flavor was really balance and I love the extra pepper on the donut. Also light and fluffy. Crueller (5/5). I love cruellers and so I can be picky about which cruellersnare good. And these are good. They are crispy on the outside and sturdy but the inside is soooo soft and air. Most places is too soft and flabby. Toasted coconut (3/5) - this was kinda disappointed compare to the other 2. The inside was filled with Bavarian cream and the shredded coconut are on top but you can't really taste the coconut at all. Its still soft and fluffy though and there was a substantial amount of cream inside. Definitely want to come back to try their other donuts and it looks like they do end of the day sale where you buy 6 donuts for $7.

6 donuts for $7 deal (I already ate the free one she gave me)

They have so many yummy options, but I settled on a mushroom and Gruyère pastry and an earl grey blueberry cruffin. The mushroom and Gruyère pastry was SO good!!! Buttery flaky layers of dough with a strong earthy mushroom flavor and savory cheese - an absolute umami bomb. We ate it the day after and threw it in the air fryer for a couple of minutes, and it was so delicious. The cruffin was huge! Topped with a delicious light Earl grey cream that wasn't too sweet. It was filled with a blueberry cream and was definitely very filling. There's a lot of sugar coating it, as is standard with cruffins, but it's a nice sweet treat. Definitely coming back for the mushroom and Gruyère pastry and to try their other delicious flavors. Their supreme croissant flavor switches often and we can't wait to try the next one! Staff: 5/5 (nice) Sanitation: 5/5 (clean) Soft serve w/syrups (5/5) I've had most of the syrups that they offer with their vanilla soft serve. The soft serve itself is a really creamy and rich vanilla milk flavor. I would say it's closer to that Asian milk flavor if you know what I mean. I think the hojicha syrup is my favorite out of all the ones I've tried so far. It has a really nice roasty flavor and not something you can find at most other places. The matcha I would say is my second favorite. The flavor of the matcha syrup is definitely lighter compared to the hojicha but still is a nice compliment to the soft serve. The black sesame would be the lowest on my list out of the, all since I felt like the flavor was too nutty like it was a blend of sesame and potentially a nut. Overall I would definitely go back for the hojicha but if you're not into that there's definitely solid options for other flavors.

They do lots of specialty items, depending on the day which is a fun way to spice up their menu. I ended up going with the burrata focaccia sandwich which came with burrata, roasted bing cherries, pistachio butter, balsamic, arugula, and sea salt focaccia. SOOOO yummy. Great sandwich, and I am so glad that they did lunch items early in the AM. The cherries were such a unique addition to the sandwich but worked well, and they were also representative of the local area (Rainier Cherries). I wish that there was flaky salt on the bread. I didn't get much salt flavor wise, even though is says sea salt focaccia. The focaccia bread was soft which is my preference for focaccia. Overall, I'd say their pastries were generally good not great and were significantly sogged up by 12:30 PM when I grabbed em. Their patisserie is stronger than the pastries IMO and while I wouldn't wait in a crazy line, it's still lovely neighborhood spot and perhaps the pastries are a better texture earlier in the day. Highlights: - Miso Roasted White Chocolate Cronut: My favorite item in their current rotation. The cronut was a tad soggy, but the buttery texture inside is still satisfying and the miso white chocolate filling is lusciously smooth and perfectly balanced between savory and sweet. - Blackberry Corn Mousse Cake: Blueberry mousse is the perfect fluffy texture and the corn is very subtle. The sponge cake is light and perfectly contrasts against the bottom layer of crunchies to add a bit of variety. - Blueberry Corn Croissant: Pastry also held up quite well on this one with the outside still being quite crisp. The inner cream unlike the mousse cake is very corn forward with a bit of blueberry jam to balance it out. Skip: - Black Forest Cake: Found the cake to be a bit too firm with the cream filling to be a little bland and too firm as well. Just wanted this to be better than it was. Also, it looks totally different from the photo on their website heads up. - Tomato Basil Croissant: Just found this to be off ratio wise. The only tomato is the 3 small quarters of cherry tomato at the top and a light smear of basil cream. I can see this being very good, but current form factor isn't doing it any favors.
