If you found this place, you were probably searching for it online. We chose here because it has a large patio with very effective heaters so you want get cold eating here. The chips and salsa are interesting as the chips are more substantial than most. I ordered the jalapeño steak fajitas which were very tasty. Some of the jalapeños were very spicy but most had great flavor and didn't cause mouth meltdown. The drinks were good and my draft Negra Modelo was fresh and delightful. Parking is easy. read more

Been here twice while staying at a hotel near by. First night we split the steak fajitas and 2 margaritas ($9 each). The tortillas tasted handmade and were delicious. The amount of food was so much that we took home enough fajitas for breakfast the next day. The steak was tender and vegetables were flavorful. I also recommend dipping the chips in the beans that come, but their salsa was good as well. 2nd time we split the mini tacos. These were good, but also different. They line up all 6 tacos on the plate and then just sprinkle the toppings over them. I found myself trying to shove the tomatoes and cheese into the tacos to make them easier to eat. read more

I had been looking forward to trying this restaurant for a LONG time. I was told, "you go for the food, not for the service." Boy, were they right. The food was great, the service was not. I had a combo plate with a sour cream enchilada, a chile relleno, and a tamale. Everything tasted great! Problem was, we received only 1 drink each throughout the hour and a half we were there (no refills, no offers of anything else). It was our only date night in gosh knows how long (we are very busy with our kids) and we planned on hanging out for a while. Our server was clearly on something other than oxygen if you know what I mean. We waited about 15 min to be greeted and were considering leaving while many servers and bussers walked by looking at us without helping. It almost seemed like no one wanted our business and we heard them arguing over who was gonna have to take our table. We asked for boxes after not finishing our meals due to being thirsty (we didn't even have water) by flagging our waiter down and telling him we would like the check at the same time so that we didn't have to wait any longer. I was super disappointed. Further, the customers were severely overserved and were bugging us at our table and acting outright over-the-top. We probably won't be back, and if we do, we will have to sit at the bar top to ensure some service. read more

I remember coming here as a kid with my family for a company dinner for St. Joseph's Hospital. We don't live far from Aunt Chiladas and we found out that they offer vegan fajitas! So we stopped in tonight and Yep they have Vegan Fajitas and they are so yummy!! They cup with lettuce cups instead of tortillas but you can get tortillas if you like. Their chips and salsa are wonderful and uniquely and perfectly delicious! They offer you corn and flour light and crispy chips, super fresh salsa and they have a hotter salsa as well, both are super tasty. Atmosphere is super eclectic and fun, inside and outside dining. Full bar and ample room for all size parties. We also bought an awesome and unique outside hanging planter and it comes with the plants!!! Came in for my birthday and every single person in my group had an issue. Salad came out with the wrong dressing. It then took about 15 minutes to bring out the correct one. Another order was completely wrong and I then I had a shard of glass in my margarita. Luckily I didn't swallow it and it was comped, but maybe it was just an off night for the staff. This place has the coolest patio!! It's so big that there is even a dance floor where they give dancing lessons some nights. We hit their happy hour for $5 margs and some apps! They have an awesome happy hour with 7 or 8 food items and well drinks, beers, wines and margaritas! Their menu is huge!! What a delightful place!!!! We were a walk in and seemed to be big enough for walk ins and 3 giant party's going on including a corporate party but it was roomie and spacious and definitely not crowded. When we arrived we headed for the door and the host stand is right there. The service was friendly and welcoming and soooo kind she even gave us some fun menu options and suggestions. The food and drinks were spectacular!!! The table chips were hand fried it seemed and everything was just packed with flavor and delicious!!! The ambiance/ atmosphere takes you to a little villa in Mexico and is so charming and amazing! Definitely would be going back again many times!!! This is hands-down one of the coolest outdoor spaces to eat Mexican food in Phoenix. It was really comfortable and the atmosphere was really warm and welcoming. We were there at a busy time so service was a bit slow, but looking at alllll the people around us - including a 30-kid birthday party inside - we had no issue with it. We ordered quickly thinking there might be a long wait but our food came out surprisingly fast considering how busy all the staff here were. The salsa was amazingly good. Their enchiladas and fajitas were hits at our table. We were also once here for breakfast and i quite liked their Aunt Chilada's omelet. My only complaints are that this location's prices felt a bit high compared to other restaurants serving similar food - but I think you're paying for their lovely outdoor area. Another thing to look out for here is allergies - you'll need to ask and be careful. The chips they bring out had a mix of flour and corn, which could be a real problem for someone with a gluten allergy. So just be alert and make sure you ask what tortillas come with your order, etc., and you'll have a great meal here! read more

My dad has celiacs and they were very accommodating for serve him just corn tortilla chips and adjusted his dish so it was gluten free as well. Only complaint (which isn't even a big one) is the salsa, although super tasty, was extra salty. Like lips puckering and pruning after a few bites kind of salty. Saw this restaurant on the local news and watched them make tamales. Decided to drive the 35-40 minutes to check them out in case my husband wanted to buy them for office gifts. On Yelp it said there were no tables available in the next couple of hours but I decided to call and see if they had walk in available. I was able to make reservations. When we arrived we found the place had plenty of tables and so we chose outside under heaters and were taken to the furthest table which was in a well protected are surrounded by bushes and protected us decently from the strong winds. The center of the courtyard was decorated for Christmas. (The area they filmed the interview earlier.) As we often do at a New Mexican restaurant, we order combo plates to try a variety of items. (Bare in mind that we generally share one meal at most restaurants since we order appetizers, salads and often dessert.). We each chose a three item combo with one tamale in each combo. While we waited we enjoyed their chips and salsa. The chips were mostly flour with a few corn near the bottom. I enjoy flour as a change but hubby prefers corn. Salsa was very good. So between us we had the beef tamale, cheese and green Chile tamale, cheese and onion enchilada, spinach enchilada, crispy shredded beef taco and crispy chicken taco with rice and beans. (We would have like to try the pork tamale, but it wasn't offered on the combos.) I enjoyed my three items. Green Chile tamale over his beef. I've been wanting to try this place for years and I'm glad I finally did! I came on a Wednesday during Happy Hour (only at the bar I believe). I ordered a margarita and it was delicious! I do wish they had their happy hour drinks listed, it's a little misleading/deceiving not having prices anywhere, so when the bartender makes a suggestion I have no clue what I'm going to pay without asking the price which feels uncomfortable at times. I also ordered the spicy Queso, delicious but huge portion! It would be great to share! The chips were really good, it was interesting there was a mix between very thin and thick chips, have not seen that before. As for my entree I ordered the fish tacos on the happy hour menu with corn tortillas. They were grilled and the tarter sauce came on the side. They were also so good I inhaled only one because once again they were a decent size. These are NOT street taco size, that's for sure. I will absolutely be back here (probably with friends to share some food next time)! I think some of the menu prices can appear high at a glance, I.e, almost $20 for a taco salad, but if the portions are anything like I saw with what I got and tables around me they're not shy! read more

A big recommend, even though it's on the appetizer menu. BUT: all three of us ordered the special of the day which was spinach chicken enchiladas. A Complete train wreck ..., It had no flavor whatsoever, very bland tasted like cafeteria food. All three of us felt the same way.. I asked for some green chili sauce to put on it, and they brought out some green chili that was puréed with sour cream, which diluted the green chili flavor.. It was really really bad. I really like this place, but I will never order that dish ever again there. Sometimes it's a hit and sometimes it's a very bad Miss.... Sorry but you guys drop the ball on that enchilada mess. Really cute place tucked in a hidden corner! Salsa was awesome. Flour and corn tortilla chips which was interesting but I still prefer traditional corn! Green Chile burro enchilada style was excellent! My only complaint (and I admit I am OLD) but the seating hostess had on something resembling shorts but she might as well been in a bathing suit as her albeit young Backside was barely covered. No offense but I don't need to see that right before I eat dinner. Black pants would work better and the bus boys would be less distracted! Just a thought for the owner. read more
