Tostadas

I have been here before. Came with the family for some lunch before taking the kids back to college after their spring. Break a nice little comfortable place. The décor is amazing and fits the atmosphere. The server was very attentive and made suggestions on menu items. The ticket times were good. The food came out and the portions were bigger than I expected and everything was delicious. The chips and salsa They present when you sit down where very, very good, definitely enjoyed those, and we'll come back again another time

The service and food were great. We love the tacos, steak and fajitas dishes. The margaritas were my favorite! We had a great time celebrating my daughter's celebration.

Aunt Chiladas is quite the landmark in Hamden! Whether you're hitting some balls, playing 9 holes or just did a hike of Sleeping Giant, there's always a good reason to stop into Aunt Chiladas! When the kids were little, we always brought them there bc the menu catered to even the pickiest of eaters, and the menu still holds true! Luckily, as I checked in, I got a coupon off my bill! Yay me! We ordered a margarita-like helloooo! We ordered chips, salsa and queso for an appetizer. I love the chips here, they're always fresh and crispy! The salsa and queso were both chunky enough but yet still creamy-if that makes sense?! My daughter ordered the 3 street tacos and I got 2 beef tacos on hard shells. Can I just say that I'm pleased that the crispy taco shell was just that. It didn't fall apart or get soggy before it even made it to the table like some places I've gone to. The beef was seasoned just right and the toppings-lettuce, tomato and shredded cheese were just the right amount! I'm looking forward to going back again before summer is over just bc their outdoor patio is comfy and there is plenty of activity around to fill in the gaps of silent conversations!

Had a great lunch at Aunt Chilada's yesterday. Google is wrong they are open on Mondays. I had the Baja burrito and we had some queso for an appetizer. Hubby had the Laredo. Huge portions and they are not stingy at all with the chips and salsa. Talked with I believe a woman who was the owner maybe? She was great; very nice. Service was awesome and food was good. We'd come back.

Self proclaimed foodie. This is low quality food. 2 stars because the margarita was decent.

This is a small eatery (I counted max 39 seats between tables and the bar) with difficult parking…read more I was able to get a spot right in front b because I went to lunch, but the parking lot has signs saying it is for employees of the wood shop next door, and no trespassing in the lot across the street, so I think street parking is the only option? Service is great, very attentive and friendly. The food is what earns this three stars. I tried a stuffie, German onion soup, a Farmhouse burger, and a key lime Mason jar. The stuffie was a little small, and most of the flavor was imparted by the ham and the squeeze of lemon. The German onion soup, I'm not sure why it was German except to not be French? Outside the name difference, the onions were way too large, and there was a total lack of flavor going on in the soup. The crock was very large too. The burger and fries looked pretty good, and I enjoyed the flavors here. The fries were rough hewn, so there was good crispness from all the edges. The toppings of the burger, and the bun, were also hearty. Unfortunately, my medium rare burger was more like raw meat with surface browning. I'm a big fan of rare steak, but ground beef needs a little more cooking. Also, the house made ketchup is really more of a marinara sauce. If I'd ended up eating more of my plate before they took it away to re-fire the burger, I would have asked to replace the ketchup. The key lime Mason jar was e everything you want to wrap up a meal. Great flavor, lightness, citrus. I did have to bring most of it home but, unlike the burger they brought back in a box, I'm excited to get back into the key lime. From an accessibility stand point, there is no ramp to get in nor handicap parking, so the evidently don't want your business. Once you're in, there are some seats you could get in, but if this place were full it would be difficult to navigate for anyone. The bathroom is a single room, but very spacious and nice. So, mixed bag for access. Your mileage may vary, but I'm not racing to return.

Ive been to Germany a few times and can say this is authentic. The chicken schnitzel with jager sauce is so flavorful and rich. The jager sauce is a dark brown mushroom sauce (similar to a Marsala). The name jager means huntsman. Substituted the seasonal vegetable (carrot and asparagus) for the cabbage which was so delicious. The meal is hearty and rich. The staff was wonderful. The Apple strudel was one of the best desserts I've ever had with cinnamon ice cream. I can only imagine how cozy this place is during the fall and winter. Absolutely worth the price.
