Stayed at the hotel for a weekend and ended one night here. Sat at the bar downstairs which sat 8-10 maybe. Small little bar and very classic feeling. Bartender made great drinks and was there chatting it up with us.

My wife and I met some friends at Old Heidelberg on a Tuesday night. Old Heidelberg is affiliated with the Graduate Hotel. I like that you descend stairs and open a heavy door to get to the bar. The bar is full of stained wood in various forms. It looks awesome. Especially for a Tuesday between 6:15 and 7:30, the atmosphere was lively. The bar checks all of my boxes for a cocktail bar. We had a good time visiting friends. People we didn't know were friendly. And the bartender was skilled in the craft of cocktails. On the suggestion of Yelp's Matt L, I ordered an Old Fashioned. It was perfect. Sweet, but not too sweet. A bit smoky. Terrific. Five Stars

Came on a monday night for trivia, and we've never been before. Safe to say it was a fun place to be and exceeded our expectations. Limited food menu, so we ate before, but we did consume the fresh (free) popcorn they had. Pitcher of a lite beer was $15. The Bar, looks like a scene out of Hogwarts, dark, funky candles, old wooden tables with names carved in them, and definitely historic. Its a good thing we arrived a bit earlier for 6pm Monday night trivia as it was crowded, lots of Yalies there too.

Prices on website aren't reflective of cute prices. Bartender wasn't friendly at all.

Sonia knows how to pick top notch staff!! We were happy to see Keith, the host with the most, back for a cameo!! He's only back for the next three weekends, so get there soon before he heads back to Europe. When you go, ask for Carissa as she's the best!! She waitresses and bartends, so either way, she takes care of you with exceptional service!! The restaurant can get extremely busy and vibrant on the weekend, so it's best to make a reservation.

We especially loved the Habanero Mango Shrimp and the Burger on Fire. The restaurant was clean and the staff is quite friendly. The only issue we had were the wait times and pacing. When we arrived, there weren't many people there (it was 4:00pm). We both ordered Woodford Reserve on the rocks and the drinks took 20 minutes to come out. Pouring bourbon into a glass over ice doesn't take any real time, so at most the wait should have been 5-10 minutes. The food also came out at weird times. We ordered the shrimp as an appetizer, and my husband's side salad that came with his steak came out first...which was fine. The shrimp should have come out with that. However, the shrimp and our meals all came out at the same time...so it was like BAM, FOOD! That was a little much. We did enjoy everything and had a nice dinner, but our one suggestion to the restaurant would be to work on timing. It can make or break a restaurant experience.

Straight ahead you can see the chef hard at work. We choose to sit at the bar for dinner. We were very impressed with the cocktails and wine flight. We were very impressed with the complimentary rosemary bread and bean/olive oil spread. For the first course, we opted for the crudo with the white wine, absolutely delicious, refreshing, and light. For the second course, we had the scallops, seared perfectly with a mushroom, hazelnut, and a fantastic sauce For the main course, we had the prime sirloin strip, roasted potatoes, and parsnip. The New York strip was out of this world...cooked medium rare all sliced with a side of truffle butter. After dinner, we were surprised with complimentary cantaloupe sorbet and two salted chocolates. I would highly recommend this restaurant for a special evening in New Haven. I plan on coming back for the chef's pairing, which you have to sign up for ahead of time.

I was searching for something that could match up to Maison Bar Vins back home. First off can we talk about the bones of the place. The Taft building which once was a hotel now sits and houses a very charming French restaurant with a chef who could care less who you are or if your camera is permanently to your hand. I sat at the bar and the chef seated me. I opted out for their three course pre fix bar menu. Chef and owner Vincent who had trained under ICONS in the culinary world met me with this good old fashion old school attitude that today's foodie influencers could never understand. Serious poised stern energy that I love so much about old world cooking boh lore. The food was great. The playlist was upbeat, the kitchen had energy. This place should be the hardest reservation to get in New Haven.
