One of my favorite foods to eat at Disneyland/California Adventure is the Mac and cheese in a breadbowl and the clam chowder in a breadbowl... I just had to go back for it again and I'm never disappointed with it. We ordered mobile so the order was done almost immediately.
I was on a mission today to try Aunt Cass' seasonal specialty coffee. This one peaked my interest. There wasn't much of a line today. I practically walked to and ordered. My drink came out relatively fast. The cereal bits on top of my drink were so unique. The cold brew was strong. I forgot to ask for less ice. Any place you go tend to heap on the ice. This drink was a 9/10!
The line was long for Aunt Cass Cafe on a weekend evening, but luckily service was quick. I ordered their San Fransokyo Clam Chowder, which was the perfect comforting snack/meal after walking around Disneyland park all day. The chowder was rich and creamy with plenty of clams and potatoes, and the miso taste that I love was strong with the chowder. The dish itself was hearty without being too heavy.
Loved the clam chowder in a bread bowl. So flavorful and full of good vegetables. And the San Francisco style sourdough bread is delicious. Feels like you're eating at the San Francisco wharf here!
The clam chowder bowl is worth the price because it's quite filling especially with the dense sourdough bread. .
AUNT CASS IS THE GOAT Ever since this restaurant got re-themed to Aunt Cass Cafe, it's offered some of the best bites (and drinks) in the park! I love the fun foods that are an Asian twist of American classics and I love all the other Asian fusion food they offer here. The thing Aunt Cass always nails is the BREAD PUDDING. I don't even eat that much bread pudding outside of Disney, but Aunt Cass sure knows how to do it. I've tried a bunch of flavors and all are delicious, particularly the taro one and the STRAWBERRY AND GREEN TEA BREAD PUDDING (2026 Lunar New Year food)!!! Truly an immaculate dessert I also looove their soju cocktails. Some of the best tasting cocktails in the park! Their chicken pot pie soup in a bread bowl was particularly yummy at night too and the sourdough bread is sooo addicting TYSM AUNT CASS !!!
Stopped for lunch here and I was blown away. That bread on my Turkey Pesto Sandwich was the softest and fluffiest bread I have ever eaten, like biting into a cloud! Loved everything on the sandwich too, it was big and filling and unbelievably delicious. I'd get that again in a heartbeat! My mom and nephew got the chowder and mac and I tasted both and they were both really yummy! I loved ripping bits of the sourdough bread as well once they had finished most of the insides. It was super busy and we were barely able to find a table for all of us so just be prepared if you want to eat lunch here during the lunch rush. But yea, my sandwich was one of the best sandwiches I've ever had in my life and if I ever go back to California Adventure, I'm going to make sure I get another one!
I came to Aunt Cass Cafe because I saw a seasonal bread bowl soup I wanted to try. People were talking about how great the Chicken Pot Pie Bread Bowl was so I wanted to give it a shot. Chicken Pot Pie Bread Bowl - Honestly, it was just okay. There wasn't much chicken and not much soup either. The crispy wonton wrapper on top was over-seasoned. The soup itself was okay, but there wasn't much in the soup. The bread was a standard sourdough bread bowl. Overall, I was pretty bummed from this experience and probably wouldn't come back to try their other bread bowls again.
The fresh ingredients made daily is always a treat! We swung by during the Lunar New Year celebration at DCA and definitely wanted to try out the strawberry green tea bread pudding. Wasn't overly sweet and it came out extremely warm, which only made the entire item even tastier. Looking forward to coming back and trying additional items, even though it was a busy weekend for the new year as well as Valentines in February. Great times and vibes all around!
Ughhh I would highly recommend you do not get the baymax almond cold brew with orange foam....it is the nastiest thing ever. It's like someone decided to out orange cleaner in a drink. Will definitely turn your stomach into knots and make you feel sick. I repeat do not get it. The Strawberry green tea pudding was okay. It was mediocre and not that good. Not my favorite dessert to get at disney. If you are in Disney California adventure for lunar new year I would recommend getting the chocolate fire cracker or the strawberry milk tea macaron that is not at aunt Cass Cafe.
This is one of the best cold brews that Disney has offered, second to the Black Caf at Galaxy's Edge. The Cinnamon-Apple Cold Brew is a caramel cold brew with apple cinnamon foam and apple cereal dust. The funniest thing is, I hardly taste the cinnamon and apple. I'm not even a fan of either but it others were raving about it on social media, so I thought I'd gave it a try and I'm glad I did. It's a bit decadent in terms of sweetness but it doesn't have any of the acidity that the other cold brews have been having lately. I actually got the drink twice because of how good it was. The cold brew itself is sweet but the foam adds a bit of creaminess and an extra hint of sweetness. Unfortunately, it's a seasonal item so it won't be available long. Another seasonal item worth trying is the Chicken Pot Pie Soup. This one was also amazing. We got lucky this day because the sourdough bread bowls were made fresh. I've tried them on multiple occasions where they're a bit tough and stale, but not today. My only gripe is that the soup itself was a bit too salty, and that's coming from someone who loves salty food. The other thing was that I think our serving came with just a singular piece of chicken. I'm going to give them the benefit of the doubt that it was an unlucky serving, but I didn't mind it so much because the consistency and flavor of the soup were amazing.
We're big fans of Big Hero 6 and it's cute to see a themed restaurant for Aunt Cass. We missed seeing Mochi wandering around but liked the subtle touches like a stencil painting on the door. This is a popular spot, and the lines were longer than many other places in the parks, as was the wait for food, despite ordering ahead. The chicken pot pie soup was hearty, with a little too much pepper. The New England clam chowder was very good, with chunks of clams, potatoes, veggies and the soup was just the right texture. Even the kiddo - who doesnt like sour dough - devoured the bread bowl afterwards because he liked the soup so much. The Honey Lemon-ade was good too. Mobile ordering seemed to work well but we did have an issue with the app letting us know when our food was ready.
I loved the Pacific Wharf at California Adventure. It had good food and this California girl loved the theme. As a San Franciscan and big Big Hero Six fan, I was so excited to see Aunt Cass Cafe replace the old Boudin cafe at Pacific Wharf. If fits with the theme and the decor was warm, cozy, and comforting. They have clam chowder in Boudin sourdough bread bowls, chili in Mickey-shaped sourdough bread bowls, special seasonal drinks like cinnamon apple cold brew. My mom and I shared the - served with Potato Chips California Roll Sandwich ($12.49) The shrimp crab salad could've had more shrimp and it was fake crab, but still good. It was a bit salty from the wasabi mayo sauce but I loved the milk bread. It was creamy with good consistency. - Chilled Shrimp Soba Noodle Salad ($21.49) This one was good! We enjoyed the tofu, fresh cabbage, edamame, carrots, roasted corn, scallions and cilantro with sesame ginger dressing. It felt more ethnic, diverse, fresh, healthy, and just plain tasty. It wasn't what I grew up eating at Disney. Would get both again.
TARO BREAD PUDDING IS SO GOOD! I was actually quite shocked by how good it was - and my friends agreed. We all loved this dessert, and it was one of the best things we ate at the parks all day. The bread pudding has that bread/custard texture that makes it feel denser than a regular cake. If anyone has had the Taro Violet Marshmallow flavor at Wanderlust, this tastes just like it. Also shared a cup of the Honey Lemonade with my friends - it was nice and refreshing and came with plenty amount of popping boba. Fun drink! Plenty of seating in the San Fransokyo area to enjoy this - don't pass on this one! read more

Always a pleasure eating here for the clam chowder and seasonal menu. The dining area outside can get packed and the line to order can be long, so get someone in your party to scout out a table while another wait in line to order. read more

I really enjoyed the Mac & cheese sourdough bread bowl. The portion was too big for one person so next time I would definitely share with someone. The Mac & cheese wasn't the most flavorful, but I still liked it. Other people in my party got the chili bowl, but after tasting theirs I prefer the Mac & cheese. The drink was good but like everything in the park pretty expensive. This is definitely somewhere I would return to visiting the park in the future. read more
Aunt Cass Cafe at Disney California Adventure is one of those spots where I always think I might try something new, but somehow end up happily committing to the sourdough bread bowl again. The menu has some interesting food options, but that warm bread situation is hard to ignore on a park day. This corner of the park feels like a fast dining hub, almost a mini food court, with several eateries packed into one large shared space that can get pretty chaotic with people and strollers everywhere. That said, there's plenty of shade, lots of seating turnover, and enough variety that everyone in a group can usually find something they want. It's a solid place to take a breather, refuel, and enjoy some tasty theme park food while watching the organized chaos unfold around you. read more
Aunt Cass Café is the place to go if you want sourdough bread bowls and delicious desserts. Bread Bowls can be filled with Clam Chowder, Mac & Cheese and Bacon Cheddar. You can even grab a sourdough loaf in the shape of Mickey or Baymax. The food is American and Asian-inspired and is fast casual. Seating is outside in the San Fransokyo Square food court area. Make sure you grab one of their delicious desserts after your meal. You can preorder your meal via mobile order on the Disney app. They have a special menu for those with food allergies. Aunt Cass Café is located in San Fransokyo Square at Disney California Adventure Park. Aunt Cass is the aunt of the Hamada brothers, Hiro and Tadashi in the animated "Big Hero 6" movie. I recently came here and ordered a Almond Cookie Bread Pudding for the Lunar New Year Celebration and enjoyed every bite. Love the San Fransokyo Clam Chowder in a bread bowl here! It's such a cozy dish, and I love the twist on it with the inclusion of white miso in the flavor. It adds an extra bit of savoriness that I think complements the dish really well. If you're not a fan of miso, though, I don't believe they serve the clam chowder without miso, so you'll likely want to get it elsewhere. I also tried the California Roll sandwich. I like the idea of it - the milk bread is fluffy and the added shrimp is nice. I think they went a little heavy on the sauce they used, though, and the sandwich started to taste overly salty towards the end. The menu description had garlic chips as the side, but I got a bag of sea salt chips instead. These were fine, but I would have preferred garlic chips. Seating in the San Fransokyo area is very hard to find during busy meal times, so it might take a while to grab a seat. I'd recommend coming during off-peak mealtimes to have an easier time, or getting your food and eating in a different area like Cars Land. read more
Aunt Cass Café is one of my go-too food spots at Sam Fransokyo Square in California Adventure. It's easy to mobile order from & typically a very fast process. I recently sampled the Burrata Toast as part of the Food & Wine festival & I thought it was excellent! My order took quite long to be ready but I assume that's because I asked for the tomatoes on the side & they had to prepare a new one instead of a pre prepared one with all toppings on it. I hope to try out the Ginger Sesame Tofu Salad on my next visit! read more
I really enjoy the soup bowls here! This time, we ordered the chicken tortilla soup bowl. It was still good but a little too sour/tar for me, especially in combination with the sour dough bread bowl. I prefer the clam chowder bowl. Aunt Cass is convenient because we could place an online order which allowed for greater efficiency when picking up our food. read more

One of the more popular dining locations in DCA. Best to order ahead on the app to save time. Their signature is the clam chowder which was delicious and paired well with the sourdough bread. There is lots of outdoor seating available, but on a bus day still challenging to find a seat. read more
We always love stopping in at Aunt Cass Cafe when we're at DCA. The service is always fast and efficient and the staff are always friendly and informative! Everything is usually clean and organized. Stop in for the bread pudding ! read more
Our favorite comfort food place in the park! I love our tradition of getting a clam chowder in the famous Boudin's sour dough bread bowl. Especially because in the spring time, Southern California nights can still be chilly, so this is a great way to stay warm. The service was quick, but I definitely recommend using the mobile order in the Disneyland app - and plan ahead because the wait time can still be a while, especially during peek lunch and dinner hours. read more

Also tried the Strawberry matcha bread pudding which is a part of the lunar new year foods and it was the best bread pudding I've ever had!! I've never really been a fan of bread pudding either. This place was much better than I expected especially for a place within a park. It could have been because of the already long day of travel that started at 3am eastern time, or that we were just hungry, but this interesting spot nestled in Disney's California Adventure Park is a strange amalgamation of French cafe and bakery, and Asian fusion quick order spot. Built around the lake area of the park, you enter and order your food and then once it is ready, you retrieve your order and then leave the building to sit at a large array of tables in an al fresco area. Ivy had a crazy mashup of an in-house baked bread bowl, hollowed-out and then filled with cavatappi mac and cheese. While I didn't have this as my meal, I did taste it and it was pretty darn good. The bread bowl though...absolutely divine. Nice crusty exterior, with a delicious chewy inside that was a bit sweet, a bit yeasty, and just a perfect example of well baked French bread. I had some kind of strange pita thing that was basically a California roll or something similar turned into a handheld sandwich; complete with seaweed salad and everything. It was actually incredibly tasty, despite being very unique and was a great option for a warm day after being in the sun for a good portion of the morning. If you happen to be in California Adventure this is an outstanding place to stop for a quick bite or specifically for lunch. It has multiple little different food venues situated around it and based on our experience at two of them it is a great option. Despite them being very busy, it has all the hallmarks of a Disney location, with extremely friendly staff and a quick moving and efficient process that kept guest frustration low and everyone that was hungry fed...and this leads me to the California trip special addition! One of my favorite spots in Disney California Adventure! Now that it's cold, it's definitely soup season and with that comes all the bread bowls. Me and my friends wanted to try so many so we decided to get the broccoli cheddar soup, mac & cheese, and the chicken pot pie in the bread bowls. I definitely recommend getting these bowls! read more

Used the app to place a mobile order for a chocolate chip cookie. As soon as I paid, the order was ready!!! I was greeted by my name and welcomed to the bakery. The cookie was a little hard and stale. Very friendly staff. read more
An interesting fast food place in Disney California. They have the regular clam chowder in the bowl which isn't homemade but still good and the bread bowls are relatively fresh. We enjoyed the bacon cheddar ale soup in a bread bowl and soba noodles salad, both had great flavors. The salad got boring near the end and we didn't finish the empty bread bowl. The honey lemon- ale was a bit sweet but overall, the food was good. Fast quick service if you order online and you'll have time to find a place to sit. read more

Making my way through the eateries at DCA and I loved Aunt Cass Cafe! The chicken pot pie in a bread bowl was warming and hearty and filled us up after an early day of rope dropping and running around the park. Of course, we always gotta do mobile order. It seem to always be crowded over here but luckily at 11am we were able to snag a table inside the Boudin Bakery Tour so we could eat inside. I would eat here again, I'm already looking forward to trying the Milk and Cookies Cold Brew on my next visit! read more
The Baseline: For theme park to-go food stands the food must be tasty, have an experience, reliable service, and be a part of the experience. Food: Bread! You come here for the sourdough and the bread puddings. Tonight's visit was for the sourdough loafs and the Mickey-shaped sourdough. Great bread. Service: Great service but use the Disneyland Mobile order app to time your food pickups. Love the service from the cast members though. Ambiance: Total San Fransokyo vibes via Big Hero Six. I love this quick service and it's very convenient when using mobile order. My favorite is the Mac and cheese sourdough bowl. The Mac and cheese is creamy and has a nice rich flavor. The sourdough bowl is yummy but can be overwhelming with carbs on carbs. I've tried the San Fransokyo clam chowder too. It's good but I do prefer the regular one at Harbour Galley. The must try items are the seasonal bread puddings. My favorite is the Taro bread pudding that they had for the Halloween season, it was soooo delicious. Moist and not too sweet with an emphasis on the taro flavor. The Japanese fluffy cheesecake is decent but the bread pudding is definitely the star of desserts here. I love the Peach Soju cocktail as well, very refreshing and you can barely taste the alcohol. One of my favorite Disneyland food spots. Having table options beside the water and bridge makes for a nice view. Can't go wrong with the bread bowls, they're pretty heavy and a good choice to recharge for the rest of the day. Got the clam chowder bowl and chili bowl recently, but hoping they bring back the curry bowl soon. Taste isn't anything crazy or new- just a reliable spot to go to. read more
