I came to use Attic Projects because I had a burst pipe in December and when the plumber went down into my crawlspace, I asked him how it was. He said it was fine except there was some insulation falling down. I knew I needed to get that fixed, so I got three estimates. I also had them check my attic as long as I was getting the estimates. Well, the plumber's assessment was an understatement. It was terrible. There were signs of rats in the crawlspace and signs of mice and wasps/wasp nests in the attic. I had no indication of any of this, so I was very glad I happened to discover it all. Attic Projects was the last I got of the three estimates. While they were the highest estimate, they were by far the most thorough. Mike and Phil did a thorough assessment, took a lot of pictures, and explained everything to me in detail. They came on a Monday and were able to schedule the job for that Friday. The team that came out was awesome. Chris M., Leo, Nick, Jan, Edgar, and Josh were extremely professional, friendly and efficient. They were able to complete the job in one day and left everything in impeccable shape. I appreciated that they put up plastic and cardboard barriers to protect my house. They were also very accommodating to my needs and made sure I had access to the areas of the house I needed and was able to get my dog from the garage to the back yard. In addition to the job they were there to do, I asked if they could bring me the attic door so I could touch up the paint. They said, of course, but then offered to just paint it for me (and they did), which I really appreciated. They also helped me rehang a heavy antique clock after they were finished that I had taken down to be out of their way. The day ended with the lead, Chris, showing me lots of pictures of the completed project. There was one very minor mishap where their painter's tape removed some paint from my front door. Chris said his painter had already left, but assured me someone would be out to fix it on Monday (the next work day). At first, they just painted where the paint was removed, but since that did not look very good they ended up painting my whole front door and it looks great now (even better than before - like a new door). Within a half hour of the team leaving on the day they did the job, I received a call from Matt, the manager, to see how things went. He was very helpful and was already aware of the paint issue on the door so also assured me they would make sure the door was repainted. After the completion of the job, Nicole sent all of the pictures Chris had shown me, the warranty, and the final invoice. I really could not have been more pleased. I was hesitant to spend that much money, especially when I had lower bids (albeit not as thorough), but I knew from the time they arrived that I had made the right decision. I contacted Attic Projects on Monday and Mike was able to come out for an assessment and quote on Tuesday. He was very professional and very honest with my questions about competitive offers and different options for insulation in the attic. I had an opportunity for a Thursday installation and went with it. Phillip and Alex showed up on Thursday, very prompt and professional. Big props to this team. They went to work immediately and only stopped for lunch. Again, great team. The project took more than one day and was called by the company at 0730 to make a full payment. I proceeded to pay and realized I was overpaying what was left after the deposit. And paid in full for a job that wasn't complete yet. I tried to pull up the proposal I had signed to ensure my math was right and found out my proposal was deleted from the system. We are now going on word of mouth about what needs to be done. After several conversations with management, a new team (Troy and Anthony) came out to work. Great team as well. These two plus Phillip made the job happen and saved the day. Zack and Matt (manager side) both worked to correct a miscommunication and appreciate their efforts. Did I ask for new insulation in my attic? YES Was the crew professional and prompt? These guys know what they are doing. Ive been a commercial construction plumber for 25 years. My number one concern is safety. The very last thing i want to see are cowboys falling off my roof or wrecking the place. I watched them set up the equipment and access ladders. I watched them work for about 15 minutes and then i left them to themselves completely unconcerned. I knew they were going to do a good job and they did. They were very polite and accommodating to my neighbors as well. I really appreciated this. And they carefully cleaned up any debris that made it to my neighbors driveway as well. My initial reason for calling them was an emergency rodent situation. I could hear several critters chewing on things in my attic. My home is 117 years old and the houses in my neighbor hood are 10 feet from each other. I was very seriously concerned they might chew some wiring and start a fire. I had them remove all of the blow in insulation from the attic so i could inspect the wiring and remove any nests. It was a big job, and a really nasty job. I was impressed, this was a hard working crew. Everyone in the company has good communication skills and they keep their word. As it turns out my concerns were validated. After the insulation had been removed and i had a chance to examine the utilities, I did find a 6 inch long section of wiring that had been chewed clean of its own insulation. 3 long bare wires that were live. I hired Attic Projects from 10/7/24 to 10/11/24 after finding them on Google with high ratings. Initially, I was impressed by the detailed inspection and proposal provided by the Sales Inspector, who recommended sealing my attic in addition to addressing crawlspace issues. When the price was higher than expected, I asked to bundle the attic work into the proposal, and he agreed. He also mentioned they could rewire the electrical if needed, but the contract only covered inspection. The Sales Inspector referred me to someone to drain my fire suppression system. Unfortunately, the person wasn't licensed and couldn't provide a receipt after two visits, which was concerning. Later, Attic Projects contacted me to sign off on releasing funds from my loan, but I was already dissatisfied. The crew had worked in the crawlspace where there could have been serious risks, and I felt uncomfortable signing off without documentation of their work. When I asked for a report or photos, the Operations Manager refused, insisting I sign off first. I requested this documentation via email, and he offered to send a Quality Assurance team instead of the proof I requested. After contacting WA Consumer Protection, they advised me to file a complaint with Labor and Industry. As a customer, I expect transparency and accountability, but Attic Projects seems more focused on getting the sign-off than providing proof of their work. We had a great experience with Attic Projects. While the cost was higher than any other bids, Project Manager Ryan Baxter walked me through proposal and everything was explained step by step with prices along the way. In the end I felt more confident in the work being performed and the 10 Year Warranty really made sense after learning how precise their work is. Day of the project and Team Leader Michael was in contact via text with ETA and updates as well as a full rundown at the end of each day. Crew members Jeff and Tiso were professional and treated our property with respect. Josh was great on inspection and very very thorough. They had a real mess to clean up in our crawl space that quite frankly was embarrassing to me but they never made me feel like a neglectful home owner. We had the works done - clean out, black mold removal, insulation replacement, air seal, everything imaginable. And the results have been beyond my imagination. I had two separate attic spaces and a crawl space to clean of existent rodent traffic, rodent proof, remove all insulation, and replace.. as well as the exterior rodent blocking. From inspection, to quoting, and final execution, these guys were amazing. These guys are amazing! From the first call I made to schedule a free estimate for my crawl space that needed insulation and some help with unwanted rodent guests, I knew these guys were a professional company. Jeff my inspector was incredibly thorough and even asked to check my attic as well. 3/12/2021I recently hired Attic Projects to overhaul my Bremerton home crawlspace; it was in need of attention; the insulation required replacing and the vapor barrier was in need of replacing also. I originally dealt with the companies sales representative Jesse Tapia. Jesse did an outstanding job identifying various problem areas in my crawlspace and informing me what was required  to correct the issues. Attic Projects had their team at my home with in a day of hiring them. On the day of installation I was contacted by the Team lead Davon; he informed me he team was on their way and  would be arriving within 30 minutes to commence work. After the team arrived I was introduced to Davon, Matt, Hank and Bryce. The Team briefed me on the work they would be performing, materials they would be using and the sequence of  work. Last Friday,11/8/2019 i noticed quite a bit of insulation on the ground by the second story vents. I called numerous contractors and found that Attic project answered instantly and they would come out to my house Sunday morning . Their representative went through both attics and found traces of either rats or squirrels and a lot of traces of mud bees. Also most of my vents were torn. He also suggested that I needed to install screened vents on top of my chimneys. They came out this week and finished vacuuming both attics, put in new screening over the vents, air sealed both attics and rodent proofed both attics. Waited a few days before they came back and blew in new insulation. Very professional and took pride in their cleanliness. Another insulation company was going to blow insulation into my walls and between the attic ceiling and roof. That would have been a very bad idea in a house this old. Attic Projects in Kent did a fantastic job! We would highly recommend them. Sean McGrath is an amazing inspector who took his time and explaining his findings and documentation with problems we never knew about and brought to our attention. This amazing team gutted out all the insulation in the attic and crawl space as rodents destroyed it to include part of the heating system. Aiden was Crew Lead and had a great group of team members who were always on time, professional and worked very hard from morning until evening as this was a big project. J'Andre was so funny, always a big smile on his face and so polite. Sean recently just came out to do another inspection, took his time and were happy to hear great results. This was the best investment towards our home and a lot of stress has been lifted knowing our home is safe and secure, we've also noticed our heater doesn't click on often so the heat is staying in. Just moved to a neighborhood where Mice might be a problem - since it's close to a greenbelt. My neighbor used Attic Projects last week- and recommended them. I called and had an inspection on Monday- the evaluator was honest saying that I didn't have a huge problem right now. But he did see some gaps that might let mice in. And he did note the start of black mold (which my neighbor had warned about also). The crew- led by Devon- started Tuesday morning. They worked well together while cleaning out the old insulation, sanitizing the attic and crawlspace, closing mouse sized gaps- and re-insulating the attic. They added a new vapor barrier in the crawlspace. And when they left- everything was clean- no sign that a crew had been in the house messing with insulation. Devon reported where they had found gaps and where they had closed them. I think I made the right choice- and with the 5 year warranty- I can call if I note issues. read more
