I'm so happy I was able to come here on my recent trip to Phoenix! This is by far the best needle work store I've ever been to. It's HUGE (and overwhelming in a good way)... I could have spent hours there. It's all samplers - no modern patterns. Excellent selection of floss types and colors. Lots of notions. Plenty of places to sit and stitch. My favorite thing was looking at all the gorgeous completed works on the walls - so very inspiring. Everyone was very nice to me and helpful. I bought several patterns. This is a lovely store devoted to needlework with a wide variety of products and supplies. It is the same store formerly located further north up on McKellips in a smaller space. This location is much larger, sunnier, very organized, well-laid out with good eye appeal, and full of beautiful samples to inspire you. I try to visit here at least once every trip. Its pretty easy to find, in a shopping center on the southeast corner of Guadalupe and Dobson. There are several good eateries nearby also. Even if you aren't into cross stitching, you would probably enjoy a walk through just to look at all the wonderful finished projects on display. If you do partake of this craft, the ladies are most helpful in finding whatever supplies you need, unlike many of the chain stores for crafts. And they have a much larger variety than the chain stores. If you're a social crafter there are groups and classes where you can join others to work on projects. Every area should have a store that specializes in needlework and for this area, Attic Needlework is it! read more

I've been a customer of this shop for many years. They carry a huge supply of many different brands of floss, including many brands of silk thread, which is what I use. They're unfailingly helpful, the store is quite large and well stocked, and a very pleasant place to shop. They also offer to order things that you need, if they don't have them in stock. Several times I've had needleworker friends visit from out of town, and they've always been impressed with the Attic! 9/12/20: EDIT. We (two LGBT men) came back to buy some items for a project. Immediately we were very rudely asked to use their hand sanitizer, in a very condescending manner. Aside from waiting around 40 minutes to check out, we noticed multiple women coming in, none of whom were asked to use hand sanitizer. We will NOT be back. Attic Needlework is an amazing needlework shop. The staff is friendly and very helpful. I started stitching a year ago and at first I liked to buy patterns and supplies online but once I found this store I stopped. Seeing the colors and picking out the fabric in real life is so much better than guessing what it will look like off a computer screen. The staff will help you by teaching you how to find fabric, calculate the perfect cut, match DMC to specialty threads or help you pick out a frame. My first time in they showed me how to cross stitch on linen. They are unbelievable. One of the top cross stitch stores in the country because of the amount of patterns, supplies and also the helpfulness of staff. They also offer beginner cross stitch classes every month to help those wanting to polish their skills. I hope to sign up for a class soon. They also offer a rewards club for loyal customers. I have gotten several of my projects framed here and plan on being a life long customer. read more

I visit them every time I visit my mother in Tucson. The staff is friendly and helpful. this stores has a large inventory of patterns, threads, fabrics and everything else you need. It many has reproduction sampler patterns but does have some other patterns too. There is a no return policy . I also have ordered by phone many times. The order is always correct and is quickly shipped to you. Only wish I lived in Arizona so I could shop here all the time. read more

This needlework store is about an hour away from me so I don't get to visit as often as I would like. Their selection of patterns, threads, and silks is large and diverse. Men beware this place. I found the perfect color of thread here, but ran out before my project was completed. I sent my husband back for it on his way from work (its across town from home) with the tag and receipt so he would get the right stuff. They were rude to him and took advantage of him. (my husband rarely accuses anyone of rude - he is friends with everyone and at that point had no idea they had taken advantage of him). His tag was for 10 yds of thread that cost $3.50- they sold him 5yds for $2.50. I am livid- now i have to figure out how to make it by there myself, waste my time and gas, and the project i'm working on is for a competetion in 2 weeks. These people need to look past gender and act like every customer drove across town. They need to communicate better and be sure the customer will be satisfied when it arrives home. read more

Future needlewordkers beware. There is a strict no return policy, with NO exceptions, including items in their original packaging, with original tags, sealed and unopened. The staff is extremely rude. All my fellow needleworkers, friends, and family: there are many other more pleasant places to go. Also, as a side note, the business complains and yelp removes negative reviews or makes their own recommendation (see other negative recommendations below on the same subject). Attic Needlework is one of those rare, hard to find, brick & mortar cross stitch and framing shops. It's a must see for all stitcher's!! They have one of the largest displays of stitched modals that I've ever seen. It's absolutely amazing!! The have a very large select of linen, and a wide variety of specialty threads. But, if you are able to visit them in person, they are more than happy to help you with all your needs by phone too. If they don't have what you need, they are will special order it for you. Make sure you have purchased the correct pattern and DO NOT expect to be able to return it without being considered a criminal. I purchased a pattern for my wife only to find out she already had it. When I went to return it I was told it was copyrighted and could not be returned. All I wanted to do was exchange for the thread needed to complete the pattern. Since the pattern was not in a sealed packaged Attic Needlework considers you to be a thief since you had the opportunity to copy it and then return it. The store packaged it and did not say anything about no refund and no exchange. So BEWARE, when shopping in this store you are considered a thief until or if you can prove otherwise. If I were to think of stealing something, it certainly would be worth a lot more than $9.00. So, for Attic Needlework & Collectibles lack of customer service, they have lost a customer and angered me so that I am posting this on Google, Yelp and their Facebook page. read more

very nice store. patterns lean strongly towards the vintage, samplers, etc. not quite what i like to stitch. however, the have a large selection. what really is cool is they carry the dyed specialty fabrics and sponsor classes. too bad i dont live close! the staff seemed knowledgeable and excited about their store offerings. attentive but not pushy. they also do custom framing on site. ill be going back for sure! hard to find that quality of store dedicated to stitchery.
