Such a cute store and very well organized. They have such a grand variety of yarn. The staff is friendly and helpful. Their yarn can be low to high, it depends on what you are looking for and your price range. I highly recommend that you stop in and take a look if you are living Arizona or on vacation in Arizona. From a marketer stand point, the only thing I would like to see (as a suggestion) is a binder with projects that could be paired with the yarn. I think that would be a good way to push the yarn out the door for people who would like to buy a certain yarn, but do not know what Pattern, etc. would be best.

Yarn bowl has the feature to be able to use two balls at once . Higher quality than others available online at Etsy.

Became obsessed with this little shop! Super cute cozy vibes, a wide array of colors and weights, perfect for what u was looking for. They have different price points for all budgets. Will definitely make lots of stops here from now on . The service was so friendly as well, they turned my hanks into a cakes so that saved me lots of time!

The service was great! I loved how the store was organized as well as the efficient tags telling you weight and washing types! Would definitely recommend!

Absolutely amazing staff and selection. Come take knitting and crocheting classes here (including private lessons at an affordable rate). The entire experience has been amazing. I have taken two group classes and one private lesson.

Great yarn shop but very odd hours. Great yarn, great prices and great staff. But why not open in the evening when people are not working.

Went with friends for a girls' day out, and we had a great time! But honestly, a day with my…read morefriends is fun no matter what we do. The staff was helpful, encouraging, and created a really laid-back craft experience. Tips if you go: * Plan for about 4 hours for a small rug. * If it's your first time, keep your design simple--straight lines are much easier than curves. * Be prepared for tired arms and hands by the end! * If you're using the stencil projector, Apple phones seemed to connect better than other types of phones. * Bring some jams--music definitely makes the 4 hours more enjoyable. * Bring something to drink because 4 hours is a long time! Pros: Overall, it was a fun, creative, and completely new learning experience. There's a lot of talking, problem-solving, and figuring things out together while you work, so I could also see this being a really fun date-night activity. Cons: It was a little pricey at $80+ per rug. My biggest issue is the size--you end up with roughly a 1' × 1' rug, and I'm still trying to figure out what you actually do with it. It's a little too small for practical floor use and kind of heavy for wall décor. Maybe just the right size for a very firm seat cushion... lol. Bottom line: Fun experience, especially with friends, but I'd love to see a larger finished rug option for the price!

Fun place to go with my creative daughter who already done everything else available…read more Parking was a little bit of a hassle & projects can be expensive. Employees seemed a little understaffed so don't take a group of Littles that are gonna need a lot of extra help. My daughter was young, but she did fine. I would say older kids and adults will have the best experience.. This place is worth at least one visit for any makers out there.

Scottsdale Artists' School

I just returned from a one-week oil painting workshop. The instructor and school experience were…read moreboth fantastic. The instructor did a demo each morning, and then we'd paint in the afternoon. My one recommendation is that the school create an online chat group so that potential students know more about what to expect if attending for the first time. Here are my tips: The school has a store that has some basic art materials in case you forget something such as solvents, canvases, brushes, etc. They also have items you can borrow such as brushes and glass jars for solvents. Food is limited. They have a service where you can order lunch from a local restaurant if you get your order in before 10, but it's just sandwiches and salads, and the only drink available is ice tea. There's a cafe across the street that has very pricey coffee drinks and pastries. There's also a Starbucks and Walgreens within walking distance. You can certainly bring your own food and drinks, they have a refrigerator and microwave. There's also usually basic coffee available. The closest art store is Blick in Tempe. Next to Blick is Trader Joe's which is a good place to stock up on food and drinks. In the same strip mall there are also several restaurants. Do not hesitate to rent a car, parking is ample and free almost everywhere. The heat is oppressive in October and I don't recommend walking as I did. There's a bus that runs up and down N. Scottsdale Rd. and it just costs $2 cash. It came in handy one day when I needed to go to Blick and didn't want to pay $20 for Uber each way. The closest places to stay are Hilton Canopy and Bespoke, make sure to ask for student discounts. I ended up at the less expensive Hyatt House which was one mile away but it had a living room and kitchen, daily breakfast, and was quiet in the back. The models were great, I was a little surprised that they wanted us to tip on top of already paying a model fee. They suggested $5-$10, so bring cash. They did print color copies of the models for us for free. There were two dogs in the classroom. If you don't like dogs or are allergic I would ask about dogs before attending. The air conditioning is very cold, so bring a jacket or sweater. They will ship your oil paintings back home to you once they're dry and charge your credit card the shipping fee. As a student you get free admission to the Western Spirit museum across the street, and discounted admission to the Contemporary Museum which is near the Civic Center and Saturday farmers market. There are tons of galleries just a few blocks from the school on E. Main St.

My daughter is having an amazing experience at the Scottsdale Artist school. They have classes for…read moreteens that are short 6 week courses. The space is absolutely gorgeous!
