    clay crafts!

i went here last month with my friend and we had such a great time !! charlotte was super sweet and funny ++ she designs everything herself. so amazing to see a small business that's handmade have so many creative options and i love having this space as somewhere i can express myself through different mediums. worth every penny! also, when you do something ( such as clay ) you also get access to all the other tools! with only paying for the clay, me and my friend were also able to use paint, lace details, hot glue guns, beads, buttons, and colored pencils!! lovely restaurant!!

Four decorated plates featuring cartoon-style portraits and messages are arranged on a red and white checkered surface, likely in a restaurant or cafe setting.

My boyfriend and I came here to celebrate Valentines Day and we both left so happy with our art & are already planning our next date here :) if you're an arts and crafts person this is the place to be!

If you're looking for a date night or maybe express yourself thru the art, definitely need to stop by this place

A small canvas featuring 'The Great Wave off Kanagawa' is placed on a red and white checkered table, with paintbrushes and containers nearby.

We had an amazing time at Crafty Tomato! It was such a wonderful experience, with such a variety of art mediums. My friend and I had so much fun painting these 3D plaster art pieces. Charlotte was so nice and made sure we had everything we needed. Definitely stop by if you're wanting to craft!!

The owner, Charlotte, quickly greeted us as we walked in and she gave us the 411 on how her studio worked.

We had the best instructor Steve. He was so friendly and an amazing teacher. Most of my friends had never taken a class before so it was fun to see them work and be creative! There's a nice little cafe where you can order drinks and there's so many cute things you can purchase in the shop as well. Overall such a fun thing to do with friends and family if you like pottery. Also when I picked up all our ceramic pieces the barista was so nice in assisting me! All the pieces turned out beautiful. I love taking classes at pip definitely a must try if you haven't done wheel throwing yet (:

We took over one of the larger tables; the entire eating area is small but calming and cozy. They have art studios attached and it was interesting to walk back and see the different rooms; most with some sort of pottery (hence the "clay"). They have lots of finished clay products on display and some were so creative! I ordered a cold brew with some cream and it was so good. I love a strong, cold coffee and this was perfect! I also ordered avocado toast which I made modifications to and only wanted some of the crispy onions on top, which I then ended up taking off. Food isn't their priority, although they do offer a limited selection of breakfast burritos, toasts, etc. Everyone was nice and friendly and overall it was a nice morning!

We ran into a few bumps at the beginning of our visit. They couldn't find our reservation even…read moreafter we showed our confirmation email. This wasn't just us, several people in our class had the same issue, and they had to call the owner to sort everything out before we could start. They also mentioned that we could bring our own drinks, which sounded great, but I wouldn't recommend it for the wheel-throwing class. We didn't open our wine as no cups were provided but there was also no time during the class to drink it. That said, our instructor, Callum, was amazing! Truly hands-on, patient, and made sure everyone left with a piece they were proud of, whether they chose to keep it or not. One thing to note: I wouldn't recommend this specific class for out-of-towners. If you want to keep your piece, the process takes about a month. First firing, then returning to paint, then a second firing. You also pay separately for any pieces you choose to keep and paint. Our class was $35 per person, and it's $20 per piece for firing if you plan to come back and paint it. It's a commitment, but also two fun experiences if you're local or don't mind returning. Overall, I'm taking off one star due to our specific experience with their wheel throwing activity, but I still think the concept of this place is great, and I look forward to coming back to paint my piece as well as to try a different activity!
