This is a creative spot located in the mall. Its really not too complex to find once you follow gps, which is what I did. We stopped in on a Friday night (reservation for 6) for cup making pottery and the place was already packed. Lots of persons inside doing different crafts. We were seated and given directions on how to proceed. The girls were very helpful and actually it was a relaxing activity. Well the painting and molding my cup was but not drawing what I wanted. I love going to As You Wish and it's always a memorable time. I stopped by on New Years day with the family and we were told that they closed at 6pm that day. It was 4pm so we figured we had enough time. We picked our pottery, grabbed our paints, and sat down. The employee had already wiped down the table and had everything set up for us. We all chose something different. Our pottery included, one strawberry coaster, one heart coaster, one squared coaster, a vase, and a little mushroom. The hour and 45 minutes we had to paint went by sooooo fast and one of the workers went around reminding everyone of the early closing time when it was near. This was the first time, I, as an adult, went to As You Wish with another adult. Once I got over the fact that internally I am more of an artist than my actual abilities demonstrate, I was having fun! I messed up, a bunch. I think the lady said after it's fired they may still show up but I'm confident I did a good job on my 'redos'. I was expecting it to take an hour and a half to two hours... well, it took far longer and though I had a concept, I didn't have a plan. A plan would have involved stencils I may have wanted to use for very specific characters rather than attempting at free drawing. Perhaps a layout even, rather than again, an idea. They have daily deals and so be sure to find out what those are and know you can take more than one visit to finish your product you just have pay the painters fee for your next visit, though you won't have to pay for your pottery again (obviously). Came on our Founder's day to celebrate the 100th year of our Sorority. Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. We had a party around 25 people. They had the area all ready for your party. It was so cool. We were able to sit near each and have access to our goodies to snack on. I love how accomodating they were. Any questions were asked quickly. They also were able to wrap each completed gift for our group. My finished product was ready 3 days later. I picked up mine separately since I need my cup for a tea party that I am hosting. Only reason for 4 instead of 5 is that the prices for the items were on items. I still dont know how much I paid since I was running out of time and had my friend pay with my credit card. I guess, I could go check bill. Anyhoo, I understand the prices probably fluctuate. However, some were sticker shocked. I previously been and knew that the bigger pieces weren't cheap. My daughter had a hard time making her princess look like the one on the shelf. This ended with a tantrum and us leaving early after she painted black all over her piece. Emily was working at the counter and asked my daughter what was wrong and if she wanted her to add things to it. We just picked up the piece and it looks completely different in the best way. This was just a fantastic experience - great for ANY craft lover and kids/teens and good quality time for whomever you go with. It is good for beginners as well! Reserve a table on their website and there's really no time limit of how long you have the table for EXCEPT be mindful of their closing hours. There is bathroom on site as well YOU CANNOT TAKE PIECES HOME THE SAME DAY: the pieces need to bake in the kiln after you paint and turnaround time is about 5 days. You can do ACRYLIC painting that you can take home that day BUT (1) it can stain your clothes and (2) it is nonedible (so you can't use it on the plates and mugs) We decided to try them as a quality time activity for me, my husband and his sister and we were all pleasantly surprised. We booked the activity for 3:30pm and finished up just in time to walk over to dinner about 2 hours later. We would paint, have dinner, hit up the splashpad... and bonus, OUR kids will enjoy their friend having the ultimate playdate with them. Win-Win. Except y'all. If you have a hyperactive kiddo who just can't sit still, you better bring 4 sets of arms. Each piece is priced on average about $10-$20, but there are some cheaper and some more expensive. With that said, there's a lot of damage that could be done with the littles. The husband told me that next time, WE BUY TOYS for kids. Touche. With all that said, this place was like HAPPY ZEN HEAVEN. There were people all over just painting away, living their best lives and managing all the details. The seating charge (to sit at tables and use the paint) was $7.50/painter and then the price of the pottery. We bought 3 pieces of pottery and a fridge magnet and the price came to like $85. Take out a loan, yo. You show up three magical days later, and your kids cannot believe something they created could be so beautiful. And then you get it home and they promptly drop it on the floor. I painted my own piece, which was a very small and simple vase, and finished fairly quickly. At the end of it all, we didn't get to finish her piece so we'll be planning another visit. Your wish is my command. No not really. Unless you are command me to paint you something for a price. Then, MAYBE. This place is very cute. I have never done anything like this before...aside from woodshed class back in high school...but this is with clay, not wood. So there are many little tables (great for a relaxing, cute date....maybe 1st date) and on the walls are many unpainted potteries. From big and little animals to cups and plates; so many to choose from. It was so hard for me to narrow down what I really wanted. Ultimately, I chose a coffee cup. I wanted a coffee cup because I want to use it often and not have it on a shelf somewhere, I forget and then won't use it until I move out. So, there is usually a Studio Fee (I believe $8). However, I believe Wednesdays, they waive that. So you just pay for what you want. I forgot to ask but a friend of my sister said so. That was the reason why we went today, a Wednesday. All the potteries range from $9 (cheapest I saw) to about $29 (most expensive I saw). There are also a bunch of colors to choose from on the opposite side of the potteries. They are all labelled and they give you what the finished product will look like so you will know. So if you never been to a place like this, the sales associate will explain everything at the table from "how many coats should you put on to give you this effect" or "layer this on first to have this effect vs that." Nevertheless, it was very useful. After you are done, you bring it up to the cash register and mark your item with you initial with a charcoal pencil (I believe) and pay. My cup was about $14.00 and my sister's was $9.00. It was not a bad deal. All in all, I would come back again. I'm going to drag my boyfriend along so he will be stuck with me for an hour or so. read more

My friend and I came on a Tuesday night. We were given a brief informational lesson about how to paint the clay pieces by an employee. However, we were told that drawing with pencil and permanent marker was fine because they would burn off, which turned out to be wrong. Also, we were told to leave the price sticker on our clay pieces. My final mug was dark, so any pencil marks, if there was any, was unnoticeable. My friend's dish had very apparent pencil marks - even when she had painted and repainted the dish white so many times I bet she had added another inch to the dish's diameter. Overall, we had a great time during the painting process (the place was clean and there were many cool clay pieces) but the final product (due to poor and incorrect instructions) left us greatly disappointed. I'm just gonna come out and say it: I do not have any kids. So I knew going in they would be there. On a weekday in the middle of the day, the place was packed with kids and their families. When it looks super busy and filled with children, just know there is a painting bar at the back corner wall that is good for those wanting to paint alone. I took my place at the back wall, with my Bose earphones and iPod in one hand and Coffee Bean in another--I spent a good 2.5 hours here and loved it so much! The people who work here will leave you alone and paint if you want that, or they can offer suggestions if you want that too! It was relatively inexpensive as well for what I did (painted a gaming controller box) and there is no sitting fee added. Does anyone know if they have a "no kids, add wine" night for ladies and gents? Because THAT would be awesome and give it a 5 stars review for me! I was super excited to paint a flower vase with my boyfriend and hadn't been here in years. Upon our arrival, one employee told us where to sit and said she'd be right over. Unfortunately, no one ever came and only helped the tables around us. We took our finished product to the desk where another lady was shocked no one had been over to help. We filled out some paperwork and watched her put it all into the computer. Sadly, when I went to pick it up it wasn't as vibrant as I expected and you could see where I had tried to cover up the errors I made. This new employee told me that I should have painted 3 coats and apologized for no one telling me up front. I can't wait to see how it came out. It takes a few days for them to finish ur work ( put some glaze on it and bake it) just a warning/ reminder u r NOT taking ur work home at the same day , u have to pick it up in a few days. I just left there after paint a coffee mug. When are first arrived I saw a different size/shape coffee I wanted but the size was smaller for painting. I asked how to get the larger size and was told the bigger size was for group paintings but I could get the bigger size if I paid the group size but I'm painting alone, yes but it's for groups and it's an additional $8.00.
