We were a party of 7 coming in to celebrate my daughter's birthday. We came in early for their happy hour. We only got drinks. As our party came in we ordered the Indoor Picnic Board which was great. The duck wings, yummy and the empanadas (I didn't try them). Our server was sweet and helpful. This place had a great feel to it. Soft lighting, a fireplace and clean bathrooms. Their food selection is a bit unique from what we are use to but that is what attracted us to try different. Most of us loved our meal but my daughter was just okay with the Mushroom Picatta. It was a new item on the menu last night. I wish I had tried it to get another opinion but I didn't. We were there over 3 hours and the server kept checking on us. Was really please on being able to accommodate our large party. I did call for a reservation. We would definitely come back again and try something different again. read more

My family and I had an unreal dining experience here. The menu has a unique creative flare and dishes from a wide variety of cuisines and cultures. Usually this would give me pause but these guys executed everything impeccably. The potatoes Bravas were so good we got a second order with our mains. Beautifully fried potatoes served with a couple differently spiced aiolies and a distinctive onion jam- all plated delightfully together. I tried the bento box, which had a myriad of pickled wonders alongside well roasted squash, a perfectly poached tamari egg, and a tasty veggie sushi roll. Our waitress was also a uniquely cheery person who lovingly walked us through each and every dish and made sure our wine glasses never got too dry. Without sampling the rest of the local fare, I can safely say this is the best restaurant in Anacortes. read more

Fresh ingredients, great atmosphere and delicious chowder! Friendly staff too. Best restaurant in Anacortes.

Waiting for the ferry to San Juan, we found this nice cozy restaurant in Anacortes. We started with the amazing Scotch Egg with its outside meet layer fully cooked and crispy while the inside egg still soft and perfect. The main dish ribeye steak coming after was a miracle! Maybe I have never been to a good enough steakhouse, it was the best steak that I have ever taken before. The medium rare steak tasted perfect, and the crispy leek with it added a special flavor to the dish. Really recommended these two dishes. Bookmarked and I'll definitely visit again! read more

Excellent option if you happen to be in Anacortes. We sat outside and enjoyed a lovely evening. Several of us had special requests which were handled perfectly--plus we were not made to feel like we were asking too much. Our waiter really knew the menu & made great recommendations. We will definitely be back! read more

There are a lot of things that make ATown Bistro outstanding, but let me talk about the clam chowder first. It is usually an afterthought, a side dish that's bland, vaguely creamy, with maybe some clams in it, at least I hope that's what the chewy stuff is....but here. Here!! The clam chowder is the prettiest girl at the prom when she comes in and the light somehow hits only her and everyone is like DAMN. So what I'm saying is, get the clam chowder! This place also boasts a lovely vibe, very chill outdoor seating which we enjoyed, friendly staff, an interesting food and drink menu, generous wine pours, the list goes on. But get the damn chowder. read more

This is why you should come to Anacortes We were very underwhelmed with our time here until we came to this restaurant. Now this is the only reason we want to come back. Everything from the food, drink and staff was above and beyond our expectations. This is partly due to our exceptional waitress Crystal who took our experience from amazing to unforgettable. If you're in western Washington it is definitely worth the drive. read more

This restaurant is so good! The food is beautifully presented, fresh, and well selected - the menu is thoughtful and unique. I can't think of a better place to eat in Anacortes right now. Our server was kind, friendly, and attentive. The fireplace made us feel cozy on a rainy day while we enjoyed our meal. Worth the price. Beautiful! read more

They were able to do a vegan paella, which was amazing. It had saffron rice and roasted veggies. My friend had regular paella with shrimp, clams, and mussels. Very much enjoyed! read more

Best craft cocktails and food in Anacortes. Delicious land and sea dishes which highlight the best PNW ingredients. Highly recommend the charcuterie board with the pate and the Boar burger. Plan to make a reservation at least a week or so in advance during peak tourist season. Always attentive service and a cozy atmosphere in winter; can get a bit noisy inside during summer/busy months, but you can also opt to sit outside on the patio. read more

Such a great place! A must go to place and the best service!!!! Crystal is the best server you will ever have!!!

Food is ok only. Old renovation. Kind of dark inside. Limited view and window seats.

Another incredible evening at A Town. The food is incredible always. What sets the incredible food apart is the absolutely magnificent service. We normally have the same server each time we go, and last night we had someone new and she was fantastic. We wanted for nothing and ate everything. The venison bao was incredible. I cannot cheer on the owners of this fantastic eatery enough, anyone can't create fantastic food, only the select few can deliver a genuine perfect service experience. read more

Who knew the perfect spot for date night would be hiding in Anacortes? The A'Town Bistro looks like just another restaurant from the outside, but their food, atmosphere and service will pleasantly surprise you! Walking into the A'Town Bistro, you'll see a fireplace with dim romantic lighting. There are several tables and a single big booth in the corner of the restaurant space. After being seated at a roomy table, I ordered a glass of their Cabernet and my boyfriend had the Merlot. Both of our wines were lovely. The A'Town Bistro has a small plates menu, salads and a handful of dinner options. My date and I got two of their delicious salads and a small plate to share. The Roasted Romaine Salad was the most unique twist on a Caesar salad that I've ever seen! The salad had large pieces of lightly grilled Romaine hearts drizzled in a Caesar-like garlicky dressing- complete with a homemade Parmesan cheese cracker. It was seriously wonderful! The empañadas were fresh and flavorful as well. They came with a sweet sauce drizzled on top and some spicy sauce on the side. All the food at A'Town Bistro is local, and they have their local partners for their current menu on a large chalkboard in the restaurant. Overall, our entire meal was top notch and our server was attentive and very friendly. We got reservations to go on a Saturday night because it was a little busy- so I'd recommend calling ahead to reserve a spot! Again, this place was really a pleasant and unexpected surprise and I'd recommend The A'Town Bistro to anyone looking for a romantic night out! read more

We've got takeout and ordered the Squid/Calamari that was super delicious with its black squid ink sauce. The breading was quite nice and not too thick. Then we had the Albacore with the dashi broth that was to die for, on top of noodles and veggies. Then the clam and frites were also savory and full of flavor. Their fries were also great but I have to pass on the curry ketchup (not a fan in general). We had ordered online and didn't realize I had picked the wrong time and showed up 45min late. Even though with the mixup, the food reheated great and I'd be happy to return. A little pricey but worth it and can't wait to come back. read more

Tried and true, best restaurant in town. When I started coming here I was a vegetarian, now I'm a vegan, and even though it's a meat forward place, they are extremely accommodating to my restrictions without making me feel like I'm annoying. We were super full and very happy. The food is consistently delicious, service is top notch, and atmosphere is classy. You can't go wrong coming here. read more

What a wonderful breakfast we had at the 5th Street Bistro at the Majestic Inn in Anacortes, Washington! The food was excellent (the bacon was cooked to perfection and sooo tasty). Our server, Lauren, was welcoming, pleasant, and most accommodating. A+ read more

Fantastic meal! I had the moules frites (with a side of bread to sop up the yummy broth) and my husband had the boar burger. Both were flavourful and well prepared. For dessert, I had the rhubarb tart which I cannot stop thinking about, it was THAT scrumptious. With a glass of wine (hubby had a cocktail), the meal came to just over $100 which we thought was terrific value for the quality of food. Plus, our server, Crystal, was so high-energy and a pure delight! Looking forward to returning on our next visit to Anacortes. read more

Seafood is great! Squid karaage itself is to die for, although the sauce is too sweet. I also ordered the scallops as main. Scallops melt in your mouth. The mussels were tender and briny. The 'rice cake' that came with the dish seems a bit confused- is it a packed risotto? Or an attempt at the Chinese radish cake? It's edible though. Service was excellent. read more

A-town bistro is a go to favorite in Anacortes. Remarkable food and great service always. I only hope you're not influenced by my high recommendation for this place so there is room for me next time I go there. They really are that good but plan on making reservations. read more

Clam chowder came with fresh clams in shells that were amazing! Everything was great! Truffle fries were also amazing.

Where should I start? Hubby and I went for a short hike in the Anacortes area, down by skyline harbor. We had lunch at a place he knew to have the best clam chowder. We were greeted at the door by Gina and sat at a two top against the wall. She kindly offered beverages and stated their specials. After looking the menu over, we decided on clam chowder and their small plate of Truffle Fries. Hubby and I sipped on big people drinks while awaiting our appetizer. The Truffle Fries came with two dipping sauces; tangy ketchup, and mayo mixed with (what tasted like) garlic, topped with crumbled cheese. Not soon after, our bowls of chowder arrived. Gina gave us bowls for our shells and grilled bread for our soup. What can I say about the chowder. It's creamy consistency is not too thick or thin. The freshness you can taste! Chunks of bacon found within in, and wow, oh so delicious! You can have this as an entrée alone, because of the portion size is more than enough. The chef today, Steven worked diligently and made sure everything he put at the window was perfect. We will be returning to taste more from the menu! read more

Delicious paella, excellent service, and a decent wine list! We'll certainly come back!

Restaurant is in Anacortes downtown. Got high recommendation from my airbnb host. So we decided to give a try. We went for dinner on Monday. It was not crowded, so we were welcomed and was seated immediately. It was a nice ambience, very quite, may be because of it was weekday in a touristy place?! We ordered fried calamari and a pasta with rabbit meatball. Calamari was awesome. Loved it. Tasted fresh. Pasta was also good. Everything was made from the scratch, so tasted fresh and good. Portion of the protein was also enough. Taking out one star because of the price. Felt like the food is slightly overpriced. Our airbnb host mentioned that though. So prepared to pay more than 20$ per person. But still I would love to come again and try some other items. read more

Food was great, we had the Squid Karaage, beef tenderloin and clam chowder. Our server Kathryn was so charming and cheerful, she was a bucket of sunshine with her personality that cloudy day! At the end of the dinner we walked around the area and realized we left our masks at the place. When we went back to retrieve them, Kathryn had already brought them to our hotel across the street! Would definitely recommend the place for the food, ambiance and service! read more

Five stars for food, 2/12 for service, so I had to split the difference, leaning heavily on the food. I hadn't been to A'Town, so I figured I'd give it a try when looking for a place to celebrate a birthday. When we arrived without a reservation at 6:15pm, the hostess told me that she had no room in the dining room for the rest of the night. She didn't offer bar seating, but there were some empty stools, and after checking, we sat there. Everything is locally sourced, which not only makes you feel good, it really does taste better. We started off with the moules frites, which are very good, but the portion of mussels to fries is a bit off - heavy on the fries and maybe 10 mussels total. They are huge, and delicious, but for $15 I was expecting a soup bowl of them. Then we had the ribeye, which I have to say was cooked to perfection, and the wild boar burger, which was good (but a little heavy on the mustard). They also have a duck confit and osso bucco on the menu, which looked divine, but alas, I can only eat so much. The beer flight is a pretty good deal - 4 5oz pours for $10, while the other pints will run you $6-$8. Despite sitting at the bar with several bartenders and servers milling around (even though it's "SO BUSY"), we had marginally poor service. It's a bunch of young kids - what do I expect? We had to wait to order, wait for drinks, wait for things to be cleared, wait for the check...Despite the poor service, I'd likely go back when I'm not in a rush, just to try some of the other delectable items on the menu. read more

Spectacular! This place has it all and it starts with creative dishes cooked incredibly well. My wife and I shared plates, dessert, a Sauternes and left with a couple boxes to take home. Each dish was thoughtfully put together with complimentary flavors and textures. So detailed and well executed. I won't go into the nitty gritty and just encourage you to try it yourselves. The service was excellent and Crystal our waitress was a joy to talk with. Will definitely return and recommend to everyone. read more

A'Town Bistro - OMG... perfect place to relax and eat. Highly recommend - New American Near Me - Anacortes, Washington

This used to be my favorite place in Anacortes. My last experience there left me not interested in ever returning. First they took the Boar Burger off the menu. It took about 30 mins to be served. We were the last table to be served people who arrived after us were served before us. Our food was not cooked the way we ordered and the fries were cold. I asked for medium rare I got raw barely browned lamb burger, my partner asked for well done and she got medium rare. Our server was outside and did not notice that our food was ready to be served. We also ordered a salad and our bill was 90 bucks. So bad service, bad food, so sad because I remember loving it last time I was there. read more

If you are wanting to have dinner in Anacortes, you should make a reservation. I made an inquiry on line, they called back in the afternoon and what stood out was asking about food allergies of any party members. That told me instantly, this restaurant really cares about bringing a top notch experience, and they did. I usually came here for lunch for the made to order Clam Chowder, simply the best in the Northwest. A friend of mine had some particular food requirements and our server was simply on top and knew what could be done and my friend was able to have a fantastic dish from the menu with a few changes. You can taste the freshness of the food here too. The clams, the celery, the sourdough bread, everything was delicious and same with the lemonade with ginger and chamomille. I thoroughly enjoyed my experience here and recommend it to anyone as a must visit place and you will definitely get your money's worth here. read more

I made reservations for my husband's birthday because my kids and their spouses raved about the food. Kate did a great job serving us (10 people). She was everything you want in a server - cheerful, friendly, responsive, efficient, etc. I am a "plain Jane" eater, so the food wasn't my "cup of tea", but my family and friends enjoyed the food so much that I would return. read more

I dig the hell out of this place. It's small, and it's a little noisy, and you should really make reservations, just to be on the safe side. The food is incredible, and you can't beat the beer list. Solid wine list and cocktails, too. It's down at the "end" of Anacortes, near the ferry dock. You barely have to remember any turns to get here, the road just flows out of one freeway interchange to the next, and then you're here. There are neat old buildings around, and you can almost certainly find parking close by. You walk in under a glass overhang (more on this in a minute), through a little foyer, and into a bustling dining room. The host stand appears to be made out of sticks. Not sure if they were rocking a Three Little Pigs theme, but...sticks. There's a medium-long bar, and maybe a dozen tables. The staff are super nice, they're clearly the food-crazed folk in the area, and working here is the focus for that passion. They change the menu every few days, and do everything from scratch. It's basically a whole sheet of specials, all the time. Lots of familiar delights--steak, salmon, pork chop. But done incredibly well, and also plenty of interesting stuff you don't always get. The dinner menu has a dozen or so small plates, and almost as many entrees, plus a couple salads. We sat outside, at the little sideboard type tables set up inside the fenced area on the sidewalk up front. We had warm summer breezes, and with dessert, some rain pattering on the glass overhang above us. You can't ask for a more delightful summer setting. The server seemed tickled pink to get out of the noise and heat of the dining room when she came out to talk to us. It was comfortable inside, but it's hard to beat fresh air in summer around here. And she was pretty much tickled pink every time she came to the table, anyway, which was really nice. We only ordered a couple apps, had a couple bottles of wine, and then each got an entree. I could have easily seen us grazing through appetizers all night instead; they look that good. And there was no pressure to clear the table. It's that kinda place--you can easily imagine just trying a bunch of things. Between us, we had the burger, the steak, the black cod, and the pork loin (chop). Probably the only fussy thing on the menu was calling the pork chop "bone-in pork loin," but that's alright. Everything was prepared beautifully, with interesting side dishes. The steak was closer to medium than med-rare, but nobody had any trouble finishing it. The desserts were awesome--delicious creme brulee and berry crisp. Skip the guinness float, though. They're known for their beer list, but we found a couple of really interesting red wines at good prices. Nice stuff. They have a couple dozen taps, plus a bunch of Belgians in bottles, along with a few other things in glass. Definitely be back here. read more
