We have had our quartzite natural stone (not quartz…read morewhich is basically reglued rock dust!) countertops for over a year (installed circa summer of 2023). Initially there was excitement. Quartzite is extremely dense and hard to work with, much more than mere granite. It takes many times longer to cut quartzite. The original cutting cracked on the machine. (We did get a lovely souvenir piece of it). To our surprise without asking, Solid Surfaces then cut the replacement in one big piece rather than two as usually done, which left no seams in the large L-shaped piece. It took a crew of five to haul in and place the main piece plus an island and two other pieces. Taj Mahal quartzite has an elegance that we admire every day. Best choice ever which we use everyday (although we do baby it to keep up the original appearance, cleaning up to not let anything stand on it for long).

After so many…read moredisappointing experiences with Lowe's and Home Depot, it is so refreshing to know there is an option with better selection, higher quality items, and superior customer service. We purchased three different types of tile for a bathroom renovation as well as other necessary elements for the project and the sale's associate was so beyong knowledgeable and helpful without missing a beat! She was so great to work with. It is so hard not to spend money in this store, I had to force myself to only look at the tile I came in for because I probably would have wanted to return everything else I'd already bought elsewhere.

She helped me plan a bathroom long distance--it's in California--and figured out how to work with a Floor and Decor out there. She has great, creative ideas. The kitchen counters (Granite) and new sink and faucet were all of the highest quality also. They have their own professional counter installers which I never could have done myself since they were granite. They installed the under mount sink. I installed the fauctet. Sarah Scott at Wonder Shower and Bath followed up with me after seeing my negative review. My…read moreinitial review was that Kevin and his brother installed my beautiful shower to bath conversion, but their managers, Matt and Bryan, never followed through on getting quotes to me to install the floor, so I had a $13,000 shower with a dilapidated 1952 floor. Fortunately for Wonder Shower and Bath they have Sarah Scott who is amazing at following up with customers, and she got me the quote I waited 7 months for, and my beautiful, white floor is now installed! Sarah followed up with me today to see how the install went. I let her know the flooring that Butch and Tim installed is WONDERful, but the beading around the toilet is not great, and that my toilet now runs sometimes. Those are things I can deal with, but Sarah said she's going to have the Rochester team correct those issues this week. Thanks to Sarah Scott at Wonder Shower and Bath, I highly recommend them, and they've gone from 3 stars to 5 stars in my book!

After finally being promised a specific time frame for a second visit, no one showed up and no one followed up. We value local businesses, but we value our time more. It was founded in 1946 by Sam Sniderman. I met Sam, his son, many times when I went in there to pick up things when I was in the real estate business. From plumbing , heating, electrical supplies, equipment rentals, lawn and garden needs, windows, screens, pet supplies, keys made, Sam had a bit of everything. Today I need some fish eye screws for 1 of my cameras. For old time sakes I went over to Sniderman's and picked some up. Not much has changed, the aisles were always cluttered, customers in the old days could walk down them and look for what they wanted. They have a rope crossing the entrance now. The salespeople get things for you. No more lawn mowers, rollers, or wheel barrows on the sidewalk. But they still have a lot of things you may need.

My kitchen was supposed to take one week to complete. It took 4 months to reach the point it is at…read morenow and after pulling teeth just to get it to this point, it would seem Kitchen Express II has abandoned the idea of having a satisfied customer or properly finishing my kitchen. My contact there began avoiding my phone calls, more so than usual after the problems began. If that doesn't speak of the professionalism of this outfit, I don't know what does. There is no reason my kitchen should have taken this amount of time other than sheer incompetence and absolutely no attention to detail. The process has been a nightmare and I have received no apology of any sort from Kitchen Express II but I would expect nothing less of them given their track record thus far. After multiple calls on a day that my contact quite obviously refused to answer or call me back (and the person in question WAS in the office), I did finally receive a phone call from the owner claiming he "couldn't do anything else for me". I guess it was my fault that his incompetent employee measured incorrectly, ordered the wrong parts THREE times and the installer tried to pass off shoddy and hurried craftsmanship as "the way it's supposed to be". Apparently he was doing me a big favor by actually fixing the problems his employees were responsible for. What Kitchen Express II has done for me is give me multiple headaches, a ton of lost time and massive inconvenience for 4 months. As I pointed out above, many mistakes were made through-out this debacle with wrong parts being ordered several times, poor measuring which resulted in a less than desirable look and towards the end, sloppy and hurried craftsmanship as the contractor obviously just wanted to finish. My patience has been tried to the point of wanting to explode and I am normally a very laid-back person. I have come to accept some of the slightly less noticeable mistakes in an effort to draw this painful process to a close. Sadly, it is now certain that I will have to live with some of the larger mistakes as well. Needless to say, I would avoid Kitchen Express II like the plague for any sort of work in your home unless you're a masochist that enjoys incredibly frustrating, long, drawn-out home remodeling projects that result in a "mostly ok" finished project.
