The bar is ALWAYS welcoming!! The food and menu DiVINE! A neighborhood favorite any time of the day.

We used to be regular & frequent customers that often brought large parties with us, but they just did not honor our reservations. We requested outside when we made them, but somehow that is not the same as their "wait list." The worst part is that they had a table that they could have pulled apart with plenty of room outside. Manager was just rude. This was our 2nd Post-pandemic try - 1st try was last week - ordered the Shrimp Ceasar and the full order and the size was 1/2 of what they served pre-pandemic with only 5 shrimp. Was glad they reopened, but will not be coming back. read more

Atlantic fish is a high end restaurant that is always busy. We sat at the bar and met Tian. She provided absolutely the best service. She was extremely busy serving the service bar and her packed bar and never missed a beat. Alway had a smile on the her face and all the customers were raving about her. She even made time to have conversations. I don't know how she does it but she is amazing. read more

Gotta admit, I wasnt sure I was going to love this place when I found out dinner was here. I also gotta admit, I was wrong, this place was really good. We had a reservation and that as a good thing because when we arrived there was a decent line of people trying to get in. The staff were fantastic as we waited for our table. The waiter showed up and was ready to rock and roll as soon as we sat down. The food was really great and came out pretty quick. Recommend. read more

Great times and great food. Made reservations, which i highly recommend making via open table. Started with wine and a pink sangria. Highly recommend the pink sangria. I can almost taste it now... yum. The warm bread and butter was a good sign to start. For entrees, I chose the salmon blackened with brussel sprouts and sweet potatoes. My mom got the fish and chips. Highly recommend the salmon. So so good. the salmon was cooked perfectly and the blackened cooking style gave such great flavor. the brussel sprouts were very very tasty but the sweet potatoes - OMG. they definitely had some type of brown sugar flavor but they just melted in your mouth. the fish and chips were tasty also. The fries were a little on the greasy side though. The fish was a huge portion and had a good flavor. the breading wasn't too thick. Bobby was our server and was so delightful. He gave us recommendations on what was around this part of town and spoke to us like we were friends, not a paycheck. Really enjoyed our time here and can't wait to come back! read more

We showed up without a reservation...our fault. The hostess was able to seat us in a matter of minutes. Excellent start. Our waiter, Daniel was superb. Another employee, Morgan, took time out to converse with us. For the first time during our trip to Boston, we actually felt like people and not a number. Thank you. On to the food...bacon wrapped scallops, lobster ravioli and Chilean sea bass - all phenomenal. Highly, and I mean highly recommend this restaurant. read more

Came here with a large group of coworkers on my most recent trip to Boston. The meal I had was a bit of a mixed bag. Started with the chowda. It was the consistency that I like, not quite wallpaper paste consistency nor was it watery. There was a nice volume of potatoes and clams in it so that every spoonful had something going on. My entree is where things took a turn for the worse. If you have seen my reviews of other places you will not be surprised that I ordered the lobster roll. The bun was good, buttered and browned on the grill before serving. It was the lobster itself that was really disappointing. The pieces were small, and a lot of them were dried out. This was probably the worst tasting lobster I have had in a lobster roll when multiple pieces were way overcooked. At first I thought that I was biting into cartilage but then realized it was shriveled up pieces. Service was good especially considering that this was part of a large group. That and the chowda are the only reasons that I am even giving it 3 stars. Think this may have been an off night but can't give them a free pass on it. read more

Very very very disappointing! I've been coming here on and off for at least a dozen years and eating here has always been a great experience till now. Before we were seated I should have seen the red flag where the hostess kept apologizing to a young couple in the entry way. It's obvious the couple was there before us The hostess told us 45 mins wait and we were seated in 15mins. Sounds great but we were sweated before the young couple. - my menu was missing the fresh catch section. I really miss the daily printed menus - ordered the bacon and scallops and they were Cold. I believe it should be warm? - Bread was not warm - I ordered a chowder and the runner took my side plate. Extremely odd since I need a plate for my bread The waiter's service was great but everything else was very below par. Not sure what happened but this was very very unusual for this restaurant. I really hope they're not taking shortcuts or becoming commercial. ...it would be a sad day since Atlantic Fish differentiated themselves from others (eg legal sea food) by providing better service and higher quality food read more

I came here with a party of 5 for my birthday dinner. It was super packed inside and a bit overcrowded with other larger parties, and what looked like business meetings going on around us. Our waiter was really nice and patient with us, as we had many questions regarding the menu. I ordered the pan seared sea bass. It was so good and perfectly made. It came with spinach and lobster ravioli, which was really tasty. I also enjoyed the calamari, which wasn't so heavily breaded. I would definitely come back for the delicious food and great service! read more

My husband brought me here on my first day in Boston... This place set the bar for the rest of the trip. We started with lobster ravioli and clam chowder. I have never had so many clams in chowder it's always stuffed with potatoes and they did it right. I am still dreaming about the lobster ravioli and that sauce!! I was practically licking the plate clean, don't waste that sauce soak it up with bread. I ordered the Chilean Sea Bass which was pan seared with Brussels sprouts and crushed potatoes... That Sea Bass was done very well and not fishy at all! My husband ordered the clams with linguine and they where not shady with the clams. If you are in the neighborhood or looking for something good to eat you need to check out this place. It is well worth it. Make sure to save room for dessert everything is homemade. read more

If someone you know is stuck in a hospital, they are probably sick of hospital food. Sure, you could bring them flowers, but I'm betting they'd probably rather have some clam chowder. I would rather have clam chowder, if you ever have to visit me in a hospital or anywhere, really. Atlantic Fish Company is clearly a classy joint. I imagine everything is even tastier when you get to sit at one of these nice, white-tablecloth tables, but the lobster bisque, the clam chowder, and that shrimp and scallop risotto are all quite delicious when inhaled next to a hospital bed. Also, before you spend the balance of the day in a hospital, you might want to throw down a martini or four. Not that I would ever do such a thing. During my trip to Boston, I made sure to research the top places in Boston for Clam Chowder. During my search, I found Atlantic Fish Company has not only one of the best Chowder recipes but one of the best Clam Chowder in a Bread Bowl menu Items. I came here for only that and I have to say they did bread bowl clam chowder exactly right. Food: So I decided to get the best Clam Chowder in a Bread Bowl & splurged a little and also ordered the bacon wrapped Scallop Appetizer. The scallops were somewhat small but were a little ball of great flavor. They were complemented with a interesting take on spicy brown mustard that worked really well. The best Clam Chowder in a Bread Bowl really lived up to expectations. First, the bread comes straight from the oven and toasted. It's a huge bread bowl so you will not be able to eat a entrée afterwards. The chowder was creamy and had just the exact amount of seafood taste I wanted. I mean the soup was amazing. Bread was amazing. I loved the meal. Overall, I see why it is rated one of the best Clam Chowder in a Bread Bowl. Hands down Atlantic Fish Company earned a 5 out of 5 in my book! My love for crab cakes has been rekindled-- nay, it has been passionately ignited. Day and night I think about getting my grubby little hands on some of Atlantic Fish Company's crab cakes, but unless you give me $30 bucks, I will have to sit at home clipping coupons until I can garner enough cash to eat here again. Seriously, where's my $30 bucks? I kid, I kid. But hey, did I mention the Grilled Scallop Salad they've got here? It's just magical. I had a dream that I discovered a sea scallop the size of a Volkswagon Beetle, and in that dream, it tasted just like the scallops we ate at Atlantic. That's what heaven must be like. read more

I Hurd so much about this place and how good it was but was sadly let down. When I go to a restaurant I ask the waiter what they recommend on the menu to what is popular my waiter then responded with reading me the whole menu! Never had the happen before but it was interesting for such a fancy restaurant. The food was nothing short of regular as it was far from memorable for the reflection of price. The clam chowder in a bread bowl was nothing special, same for the shrimp scampi, I also ordered the blackened halibut with mashed potatoes and asparagus. The fish was cooked perfectly and was probably the only satisfying thing but the sides where under seasoned and plain. Compared to a seafood restaurant like Neptune It falls short in standard. Seems like a upscale version of red lobster if I'm being honest. Would I come back only if a friend invited me I would not go out of my way for this spot. read more

We asked for an outside seat and we were told it would take about 45 minutes but then again they got us seated right away so it only took us about 15 minutes. The restaurant's atmosphere is a curious blend of fancy and casual, and the wait staffs were professional and astute. THE FOOD- I was very disappointed with the tough textured Lobster entrée dish on my visit. The roasted chicken that came with the delicious asparagus and morels turned out to be slightly underwhelming, as the meat was surprisingly on the tougher side The steak was a little overcooked for a medium order but turned out to be the highlight of the meal. ------------------------------------------------------ Maine lobster 1 1/4th lbs $38.00 ( served with corn on the cob and potatos (with additional baked & stuffed with crab meat stuffing $11) New York strip steak 14 oz $34.00 (baked potato and asparagus with cabaret sauce) read more

One of my most memorable meals! Everything was so good. We managed to get last minute reservations late in the evening after the Boston Marathon ended. Craig P. had had his undergrad graduation dinner here years ago and suggested this place when we decided to go to an upscale seafood restaurant. Atlantic Fish Company fit that bill perfectly. The place is dimly lit, intimate, and decently sized with patio seating, but on a rainy night, everyone sat inside. We were seated and served a bread basket that had some of the best bread and butter I've ever tasted. We devoured two of these. Cup of Clam Chowder, $6 Best clam chowder I've ever had. Light, flavorful, creamy, and filled with actual fresh clams! Half-Dozen Oysters, $16 I'm not really a fan of oysters but these were delicious. They didn't have that salty ocean taste, and were the most fresh-tasting oysters I've ever eaten. I don't remember which kind we ordered but it was recommended by our server and I'm sure they're all good. Pan-Seared Sea Bass, $42 This was also server recommended and came with a side of spinach and Lobster Ravioli. The lobster ravioli is a MUST GET! Possibly the best thing on the menu, it's served in a lobster cream sauce, with tomatoes and fresh basil. If I ever have the chance to dine here again, I'll be definitely be getting the ravioli in entree size. The Chilean sea bass was soft and tender; good, but nothing mind-blowing and probably the safest thing we ordered that night. Maine Lobster (2 lbs.), $54 Fifty dollars for a two-pound lobster?! What. I'd move to the east coast just for this. Do you know how much a lobster that big costs in LA? At least $70. Minimum. Meaning it could go even higher, to like, $90. And it won't even taste half as good. I was shocked at this price point. The lobster was delicious and served with corn on the cob and potatoes. Very simple, very tasty. The only thing we regret was saying yes when asked whether or not we'd want our lobster de-shelled. If you're Asian and/or like us and willing to eat every part of an animal, then you'll probably want to say no and ask them to leave the lobster in tact so you can eat everything, including the brains, which they wouldn't serve otherwise. Red Velvet Cake, $8 Craig isn't a fan of red velvet, but after some persuasion, we decided to get this as it was also server recommended. Craig was not disappointed. For a long time, my favorite dessert to get at Cheesecake Factory was the Red Velvet Cheesecake. As my palate matured, I realized that theirs was way too rich, heavy, and sweet. The red velvet here? Jaw-dropping good. So flavorful and rich, not too sweet, yet incredibly light as it was served with real whip cream, which was the perfect touch. Atlantic Fish Company easily gets 5-stars from me. Everything we ordered was simple, but so good. Normally, traditional seafood is very boring to me, but the chefs behind AFC do a fine job of raising the bar and bringing the food to the next level, making things interesting, but not too avant garde. The pricing was also surprisingly lower than other upscale seafood restaurants I've been to (mostly on the west coast) and service was pleasant. I can't imagine anything more anyone would need to have a perfect night and meal. Highly recommended. read more

If I could eat off a brunch menu at every meal, for the rest of my life, I would be forever happy. Brunch is (clearly) one of my favourite things on the planet. Want to know what another of my favourite things on the planet is? Exemplary waitstaff. What did we experience this past Saturday? Both. We came for an 11am seating with groggy wine brains and growling empty stomachs. Although we were 10 minutes early and Atlantic was not technically open yet, we were graciously seated and watered immediately. If you are ever feeling disheartened after a night of poor service, or really just want to interact with a fantastic person, ask for Dan, our waiter at Atlantic Fish. He was by all means, a man with a purpose. Intimately acquainted with the menu and it's minute nuances, quick with a witty answer, incredibly attentive to detail, and full of suggestions. He had us all laughing a dozen times. (And although he probably came by our table a dozen times, it was always helpful and not in the least bit obtrusive.) I think it was quite easily the best service I've ever had. As for the food, we fell in love with the bread basket as soon as it was placed before us. On top was a thick freshly baked soft chewy white, underneath a thin fruit and nut bread, and at the very bottom three tiny delicious blueberry muffins. And the butter was pretty little dollop of soft creamy sweetness. I LOVE when the butter isn't a rock. I also LOVE carbohydrates, and the homemade bread I tried first was simply fantastic. If I could have purchased a loaf to go with some of that butter on the side, I would have eaten the entire thing in the cab home. The (bottomless) coffee service was very showy and pretty, and for the terrific flavour and depth it was worth every cent of $3. If I could come just eat bread and drink coffee here, that would be fine with me. This review is already enormous and I haven't even touched upon our entrees yet! It takes a lot to shut up three college friends, but when our food arrived, it was completely silent at our table. We had the traditional eggs benedict, the open-faced egg sandwich (no tomato), and the jumbo lump crab cake melt. The eggs benny was great, my open-faced egg sandwich was delicious (although a little skimpy on the bacon. If everything else wasn't so terrific, I would take off a star for the lack of an acceptable amount of bacon on my sandwich), but the real standout was the jumbo lump crab cake melt. This was not a "crab cake." This was a whole bunch of incredibly fresh lump crab meat with no visible binder whatsoever, stuffed inside a gourmet brie grilled cheese. It came with super delicious sweet potato fries, perfectly crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. Just... yum. Brunch is far more reasonably priced than dinner, so if you want to experience Atlantic Fish on a budget then I wholeheartedly recommend you go to brunch. The total for all three of us to have entrees and coffee was $55 before tip, and if you compare it to somewhere like Masa you're going to spend nearly that anyway. We did not have appetizers or drinks, but they had some delicious cocktails that I would be happy to splurge on next time. I have definitely found my new brunch destination! read more

This time around, I came in a group of four. The restaurant itself is definitely not roomy. I felt squished in my booth seat, and getting from the hostess stand to the tables to the restrooms is definitely a push-and-shove affair. I heard servers across the restaurant crashing plates, glasses, and dropping silverware because so many things were going on in this restaurant when there clearly is not enough space. FOOD + LOBSTER ROLL: This is definitely one of the best lobster rolls I've had. There isn't too much mayo, the celery adds a light and fitting crunch, and the bread is not too soggy but has a crispy edge around the roll. Usually I get sick of lobster rolls because of the butter or mayo that accompanies the chunks of lobster, but this entree was definitely executed very well. But, I do wish the french fries were crunchier. They got pretty soggy. ~ SEA BASS ENTREE: The sea bass comes cooked how you want it with two sides. We got the sea bass with grilled asparagus and gnocchi. The fish was cooked very well, and the sides were too, but nothing about this dish said WOW to me. - NY CHEESECAKE: This cheesecake is very heavy and dry. There was whipped cream dolloped in the middle of two big wedges of cheesecake, but it was not enough to compensate for the lack of moisture in this cake. I would definitely come back here for the lobster roll, but nothing else about what I've tried here makes me need to come back again. read more

Does everyone in Boston sleep in on weekends or something? In Chicago breakfast/brunch is more than a weekend pastime, it's practically a competitive sport. Maybe it was the neighborhood I was in, but I was flabbergasted when I heard AFC didn't start serving breakfast until 10! It also seemed odd that they do breakfast AND brunch, with brunch not starting until 11:30; by 11:30 I'm usually brunching 2 mimosas deep, but I digress... My server told me breakfast was a new thing they were doing. The menu is well chosen - an array of benedicts, omelets, lox plate, pancakes, french toast and a raw bar selection, it has a little something for everyone. The only things it seems to be lacking are a healthy option like yogurt and granola and a straight up egg-any-style dish - I heard both requested while I dined. Since breakfast is brand new, I had my choice of seating and snapped up a table on the nice outdoor patio. My server was extremely friendly and attentive, she seemed genuinely interested in what brought me to Boston and my plans for what little was left of my trip. I ordered the blueberry pancakes. Each order comes with a "bread" basket stuffed with freshly made mini blueberry and carrot muffins. They were like crack, I contemplated throwing the basket on the sidewalk just so I'd stop scarfing them down; I needed to save room for my actual breakfast. My pancakes were good, a little light on the blueberries, but very tasty overall. The dish came with a small side of fruit and a side of bacon. Since I don't eat bacon, I wish I had thought to see if I could substitute it for potatoes or something. Bottom line: Solid breakfast; good portions, good food, good service and good prices. My only wish is that breakfast started earlier. read more

This place is a solid 4-stars...not 5, but a very good 4. That being said, it was a little disappointing as Atlantic Fish was touted to me as "one of the best seafood restaurants in Boston", along with Neptune's, Island Creek & Ostra. Personally, I think I would have preferred Neptune's (based on pics on yelp), but they closed too early for us, so we went with Atlantic. So, here's my review: Ambiance: 3-stars, felt like a high-end chain restaurant, similar to a Capital Grille or someplace like that. Nothing really unique about it and tended to be an older, more casual crowd...seems like Bostonians love wearing Red Sox caps everywhere (just an observation as I'm not a baseball or red sox hater by any means). I felt overdressed even though I was only wearing slacks and a sport coat. I'm not a fashion snob at all as I regularly eat at food trucks & taco stands, but when going to a fine dining restaurant, I think it's only appropriate to look nice, in my opinion. Cocktails: 3.5-stars, had an interesting list, but a lot of the drinks had too much sugar. Wine List: 4-stars, very good wine list with a lot of reasonably priced new world and old world options. Was worried it might loaded with only California, Australia/NZ, etc., but was nice to see France, Spain, Germany & Austria on the list. Ordered a $40 Loire Valley (French) Muscadet, which was excellent. Food: 4-stars, had the mixed greens salad, raw lump crab, oysters rockerfeller, tuna tartare and lobster crab louie - all were excellent, but the Louie really stood out as something special. Also had the chilean sea bass with lobster ravioli, which everyone raved about, but thought it was just Ok. The clam chowder was not "award winning" as they tout it, but still good. And probably the best thing on the menu was the Peppermint Ice Cream Pie, which was out of this world. Service: 4-stars, pretty good service and didn't have to wait too long to be seated as we had a reservation. Was nice to be able to valet park next door at Abe & Louie's. Overall, Atlantic Fish is a solid 4-star seafood restaurant, and make sure you order the Lobster Crab Louie and the Peppermint Ice Cream Pie, which are the stars of the show, in my opinion...and if you're from Boston, try leaving the cap at home and replacing it with a jacket when you go there, you might like it...just sayin'. read more

I came here for the $20 3-course restaurant week menu last week with a friend and had an amazing lunch. I've always wanted to go to Atlantic Fish Company but had for some reason put it off despite it being just a 5 minute walk from my apartment. The restaurant was quiet for lunch and I loved the decor inside. Our waitress Krystal (I'm 90% sure that was her name) was really great, friendly and attentive and made sure that we finished our lunch before our meter ran out! We were served piping hot bread and water as soon as we sat down. My friend and I both decided to order off the restaurant week menu, and I ended up getting the fish stew, the seafood bouillabaisse, and the warm cookie plate. The stew was lighter and better than expected, but the entree course was definitely the star. The bouillabaisse had such a delicious broth and was filled with clams, calamari, mussels, scallops and fish. The piece of garlic bread on top had this amazing aioli on it that tasted perfect dipped in the broth. I was so surprised at the amount of food because sometimes restaurant week menus skimp you a bit, but there was so much seafood that I couldn't finish it. The warm cookie plate had 3 warm and chewy cookies and came with a little chocolate fondue cup to dip! The dessert was fun and delish but I could really only eat a bit of it. My friend ordered the shrimp salad, seafood wok salad and the brownie sundae. She loved everything except mentioned that the shrimp in the appetizer salad were slightly mushy. The wok salad and brownie sundae definitely made up for it though. Overall it was a great meal and an amazing restaurant week deal. I will absolutely come back to order off the real menu. read more

Dear Atlantic Fish Company, Every time we meet I am overwhelmed with happiness! You never let me down with your delicious seafood, your incredibly attentive staff, the beautiful white table clothes, and the endless coffee at brunch (I really appreciate the little pot you give me alongside my cup so I can shameless refill without having to bother the wait staff). Thank you for never letting me down regardless of what time of day it was - brunch, lunch, or dinner - or regardless of what I'm wearing - a special occasion dress, my Sunday morning "I don't feel like getting dressed today" sweater, or my advertising industry "work" attire that looks more like a college-student's wardrobe next to your other suited up, finance and lawyer friends. Your clam chowder brings me relaxing comfort yet awakens my taste buds with its full seafood flavor. Your oyster selection allows me to enjoy the beauty of Martha's Vineyard, Duxbury, and Long Island from the comfort of my own Back Bay zip code. Your Lobster Fra Diavolo is the only time I've ever said "there's more seafood than pasta on this plate." Your tender sea bass, halibut, and salmon only require that I exercise the littlest amount of force with the side of my fork to break off a bite. Your lobster omelette gives me more lobster than any lobster omelette around. Your blueberry pancakes are sweet, fluffy, and remind me of Christmas morning. You're the one I want to show off to all my friends. And you are one of the good ones - trusty, loyal, and reliable. I know will never let me know. Thanks for all that you do and I look forward to many more adventures with you. With love, Tiffany read more

The clam chowder is the ABSOLUTE BEST! It's the chunky kind, packed with pure awesomeness. If you like the brothy kind of clam chowder, go to Neptunes in the North End. We also split an Oyster roll. To our surprise, they split it for us! Even half was quite filling and I'm sure we got extra fries because of it. Jackpot for us cheapos! OK. WOW. OMG. I was told to come here by a friend who knows boston pretty well. MAN, why didn't I come sooner!? This place is located across from the prudential shopping center and nearby newbury st. It's not a looker from the outside, but inside is nicely decorated and well staffed. They have great seafood choices here, even brunch for those that arrive before 2pm. I saw that the clam chowder was "award winning" and since I'm pretty much in love with legal seafood clam chowder, I decided to go for it. Boy, was it super delicious!!! I got the bread bowl version and the bread came toasted with the chowder inside. The chowder has just punches and punches of flavor, booming out of the bowl. It was filled to the brim with lots of clam and goodies, and the soup wasn't too heavy or creamy. I could've just eaten that soup ALL DAY! I also got the lobster ravioli, which was also a super great choice. It came with 7 raviolis packed with lobster inside and with some extra lobster and mushrooms in the middle. The sauce was super delicious, creamy and light. Service was also great here. Great presentation and lots of help. We got seated fast and left uncomfortably full with smiles! A MUST TRY!! read more
