I really love this place. I went here for the first time randomly with my friend after shopping and was so happy with our decision to go here. We both love seafood and agreed that the fish here was extremely fresh and well prepared. I got Chilean Sea bass over lobster ravioli and spinach - AMAZING and cooked perfectly. I told everyone about my experience here. I was so happy with this place, I brought my family here for my mom's birthday. Everyone had a great time and enjoyed their meals. Our server was nice and friendly, he took the time to explain certain items on the menu for us and made his recommendations. Even though the dining room was very full and busy, we did not feel rushed at all during our meal. read more

Delicious! But costly. So 4 stars. I love the first part of the menu where you basically pick your fish, pick your preparation, and pick 2 sides. Not much can really go wrong when they are making the entire dish to your specifications. Many fish options, many different preparation styles, and lots of sides to choose from. If you don't want to create your own dish, then you can order from the second part of the menu in which the seafood/meats are paired with sauces and vegetables already. Good ambiance, bread basket to start, and delicious food. read more

I've been here multiple times, it's sooo good I will be coming back more often. Reservation here is always very tough, usually when I go with friends, we opt for the 3 tables by the bar, they're 1st come 1st serve. On my most recent visit, I took my friends from Canada here on new years eve. We were seated at the bar. I had the san francisco cioppino, it's such a hearty meal! for the price of $35, you get half a lobster, a lot of shrimps, scallops, mussels and fillets of salmon belly etc, all cooked in a tomato broth soup. This is very similar to the traditional Portuguese seafood stew. Only order this dish if you're super hungry though, and if you do, the servers will know you're a frequent visitor. My friends had seared Mahi Mahi, and another friend had giant scallops, there were both so nicely cooked and they loved it too. read more

Better and pricier than Legals's, but I would dine here any day over Legal to avoid the chain restaurant feel of the latter. I also think the lobster and seafood here is slightly fresher than Legal, though you do pay a slight premium for the nicer environment and better quality. Totally worthwhile in my eyes though. I've been here two or three times, and it seems like all types of customers come here - I've seen the businessmen in their suits, the old couples enjoying what is probably a regular haunt, the tourists taking pictures with their food (especially the massive lobster) and locals just out for a good meal. Twice I ordered the lobster to share, and I preferred the smaller 1.5-2 lb lobster compared to the massive 3 lb lobster that we tried once. The meat was more tender for the smaller lobster, although the latter certainly made for a great picture, it was huge and massive! Service here is impeccable and the waiters know their products. I also enjoyed the clam chowder soup and calamari. I've never tried the meat dishes here, as I usually get enticed by the lobster, which is really affordable for the quality and the restaurant setting. When I have out of town guests visiting who want to eat lobster at a nice place or during the winter when the lobster shacks are closed, this is where I would bring them! There is quite a lot of seating capacity too, so I've never had a problem getting a table as long as I call ahead a day. Not sure what the wait times are if you just show up during peak meal hours! read more

Great portions, great service! The chowder is delicious , although i believe eating a San-Francisco cioppino in San Francisco, this particular one was so good (and insanely large) - containing endless amounts of fish, HALF(!!) a Lobster, mussels, clams, shrimps, and scallops. The sprint rolls are supposed to be the treat here but i didn't have them. The crab cake is definitely very good and so are the tune, the cod and the beet salad! read more

I ate here about a year ago and it was great! I was back in town with my wife and told her she had to try this place. I got the Lobster Roll & Fries which is incredible and she got the Shrimp, Scallops & Risotto which might have even been better then mine. Great service, great food and not to bad priced for the fresh quality of the food. I'm a HUGH FAN of place. read more

I loved this place so much, I ate here for dinner and again for the following day's lunch. The selection of available oysters is very good, and the service (at the bar) was prompt, friendly, and full of great recommendations. For dinner, I had a half dozen malpeque oysters with a glass of sancerre to start and as my main course the appetizer size lobster ravioli. It was all perfection. For lunch, I had another half dozen malpeque oysters with a bowl of clam chowder. I will say, the chowder wasn't my favorite, but I have come to the realization that chowder is not really my thing and what AFC was serving was lovely. AFC is located close to a lot of hotels in the Back Bay, which makes it nice for business travelers to easily find and enjoy. I booked both times on OpenTable, which made the experience all the more smooth. I strongly recommend this restaurant; have a seat at the bar! read more

This was our last stop on our trip to Boston. I'd recommend getting a reservation beforehand. This place is pretty popular! We walked in a few minutes after our reservation and was seated immediately near the front patio. We're a decisive group and ordered immediately. 1. Clam Chowder - ehhhhh I've had better. Not really something to rave about. very typical 2. Lobster Ravoli - REALLY good! My friend is not that big of a ravoli fan but this was extremely flavorful and she loved it 3. Crab Cake - my absolute favorite! Extremely fresh and I think it's their best dish! 4. Katama Bay Oysters Martha's Vineyard, MA - very very fresh and pretty big size as well! I like to pair it with lemon and Tabasco sauce. BTW the cream thing in the middle of the cocktail sauce is horseradish (not garlic), in case anyone was wondering 5. Lobster roll - not really impressed. I've had better (uhhh Neptune Oyster!). Lobster is decent, the bread is just ok. I actually skipped everything and just ate the lobster. Plus they added lettuce to the roll, really took away from the overall flavor. I think it cheapen the taste of the classic Boston dish. I say skip this one. BTW did I mention this was all for a group of 2?? Yeah we're big eaters ;) Overall this place is decent. Our waiter disappeared after he ran the card, which sucked because I was still extremely thirsty from the fries that came with the lobster roll. Waiter gave us a bit of creepy Munster family vibe but the food came out very quick! I'd recommend this place if you're already shopping in the area but I wouldn't wait for this place. read more

This place is REALLY good!!! I was not that impressed with the food in Boston but this place was by far the best restaurant my family and I ate at. My wife and daughter had seafood rightfully but I went with the surf and turf action. My steak was just as I ordered it (medium-well)! The service is great also. Will definitely eat here again on my next visit! Don't miss this place on a visit to Boston! read more

Made reservations through Yelp. I was greeted nicely and walked straight to my table. Awesome! Service was quick. They were attentive and checked on us often. The servers know about the food and can answer your questions well. *Crab cakes - So good! I would definitely order this as a meal too. *Clam chowder - Amazing! I didn't understand the reviews cuz I mean, it's just clam chowder, right? No. It appears simple, but it's so nicely done, full of flavor and chunks of meat. *Bread basket - Try every piece and you won't be disappointed. They're all good in their unique way. *Steak and lobster tail - Very nicely done. Cooked to perfection. I love how they bring out a small pot of butter and the piece to keep it warm! *Blackened sea bass - Melted in my mouth!! Great place. Good service. Clean bathroom. Cute bar area, I wanna check that out some time! I'll be back for more... read more

5 stars for the food 2 star service I think we were unlucky but out waitress didn't take very good cAre of us. For a $100 lunch I was hoping to have a more pleasant waitress. No smiles. She just grabbed plates n ran. The chowder was barely warm. Average. But the lobster roll, crab cake melt, fried oysters, and lobster ravioli were all incredible! The best lobster roll I've ever had. I've only had them in NYC though. read more

We stopped in for lunch before we left Boston and the Atlantic Fish Company did not disappoint. We started with a dozen oysters and we thoroughly enjoyed them. The oysters were fresh, nicely shucked and displayed for us. The bread served on the side was pretty good. Then we enjoyed the chowda, I indulged in the bread bowl, it was large and the bread again was very tasty for dipping into the chowda. For our entree we shared the crab cakes which had plenty of crab and the corn bread pudding was interesting and very tasty. The crab cake lacked pizzaz in the seasoning but I enjoyed the amount of crab. The ambiance was nice and service was great. But be prepared to spend, we had two people for lunch and spent $98 w/tip, I thought it was worth it though. read more

My family and I chose this restaurant after seeing the great reviews on Yelp. Likewise, my dinner today at Atlantic Fish Co. was delicious. We made a reservation through Yelp the night before and was given a choice between 4:30pm or 9:45pm. Since we didn't want to eat too late, we chose the 4:30pm slot. This told me that for next time to book a reservation earlier. When we arrived, we were seated quickly. Shortly thereafter, our waiter got out drink order and gave us some bread. The bread basket had two types of bread. The lighter colored bread was the best. For my dinner, I ordered the grilled salmon with braised brussel sprouts and corn pudding. All of these items tasted amazing, but the highlight was the corn pudding, since I've never had it before and it was yummy. I took a star off because it is difficult to get a reservation and one would most likely would have to wait a while without one. However, this place is most definitely worth a try. I recommend the corn pudding. read more

More like 3.5 stars. Service was excellent, location convenient, and a very pleasant dining experience. Unfortunately the lobster was a over cooked (or perhaps an old lobster) - after tasting alive and kickings lobster, I was hoping for something similar or comparable, but unfortunately it wasn't as well done. Not bad by any means, but definitely a little dry. Oysters were good - but I would say island creek is slightly better. Again not bad by any means - a nice oyster fix. The lobster riavoli was delicious - got the appetizer portion which I think is more than enough considering it's ultra creamy and filling. read more

I found this place to be lackluster. The bf and I visited here while in Boston for a few days. Although we are not major seafood eaters, we do appreciate a good meal. We ventured here due to yelp reviews and recommendation from our airbnb host that it was worth the price. We disagreed. The best part of our meal was the clam chowder. Hands down, the best we had in Boston. DELICIOUS! Rest of our meals, lackluster. Honestly, it was in January when we went so I already forgot what we ordered. We both ordered some fish meal (I think he ordered North Atlantic Cod and I think I ordered Halibut?). Overall, we couldn't even finish our plates because it was bland. Maybe we didn't order right, but did not leave us wanting more. For our bill being over $100, we wish we could have left with happier, fuller tummies. read more

My cousin always says you can tell how good the restaurant is going to by the bathroom towels and the bread. I laughed at him, then proceeded to use a very soft bathroom towel, and devour many fluffy, warm, and delicious hunks of bread. He might be on to something, because the rest of the meal (clam chowder, calamari, shrimp scampi) was also on point. The chowder was rich, the calamari tender and the shrimp scampi succulent. The service was great too - prompt, helpful and funny. If you have some cash to blow and an empty stomach, it's a great bet. read more

Solid choice for finer dining and a good meal! I chose this place after a 4 day conference, looking for a place to unwind a little before heading to the airport. This place delivered! Being by myself, I sat at the bar and was immediately greeted by the bartender. After ordering, he asked for my name and introduced himself. I thought it a bit odd, but sure whatever... after thinking about it, the busser that brought my food confirmed my thought, she addressed me by name and offered me my food. Despite it being a small touch, I thought it was a nice gesture to at least address you by name and be offered another drink by name. Prices I found to be in the moderate to normal price range for the quality of food. I had the crab cake sandwich with tomatoes, Brie and pesto ($17, if memory serves)... highly recommend it! Pair that with a glass of wine ($8) and you've got maybe a touch pricey lunch but well worth the quality, service, and upscale ambiance! read more

If somebody is serving quality seafood, Im a fan. Went here a few years ago and was delighted with my swordfish. I wish it was less expensive, because then I would be here more often. This place has the best clam chowder I've ever tried anywhere. Served in the bread bowl, it is a full meal by itself. We came in without reservation as we were travelling from NYC for thanksgiving weekend. The restaurant was pretty full for dinner and we need to wait for 20 minutes for bar. Customer service: 4/5 Overall customer service is satisfying Fish stew bowl: 4/5 Very flavorful!! Personally, I hate pepper but the pepper enhances the flavor. The fish is perfectly cooked. I frankly do not think pouring all the biscuits are good idea. This is thanks to my friend! Maine lobster: 4/5 Came in with 2 small red potatoes and 1 corn in the cob. The cob is juicy at one side and dry on the other. As for the lobster, you can choose to ask without its shell or crack it yourself. I requested for the meat only with baked crab stuffing. The lobster is fresh and cooked perfectly. So no complaints here. Peppermint pie: 4/5 Is huugggeee!! It came in with 2 slices for two of us and we thought they charged us with 2 pies but in fact, it is one serving. The restaurant was considerate enough to divide the pie into two so we don't fight over the pie. The peppermint pie has oreo cookie crumb based with a huge swirl of whip cream and chocolate syrup. I found the peppermint pie to be too sweet though. However, the oreo cookie does its job by slightly complement the sweetness. It is worth the price though for $9. Overall: recommended! read more

We ordered fish and chips and a lobster roll, but before that we had drinks at the bar. I had a lobster roll for every day I spent in Boston this trip (~4days). This wasn't the best roll, but it was good (and expensive). The fish and chips was probably the best I've had in while and I recommend ordering it. The total bill came to $60-70ish per person, but that's because lots of wine was ordered. Reservations are easy to make. read more

My husband and I were in town for our anniversary and were referred to the Atlantic Fish Company by the hotel concierge. The wait staff is very friendly and attentive and the bread you receive prior to the meal is fantastic. I ordered the salmon filet and my husband ordered the filet with lobster. I was blown away by how perfectly the salmon was cooked and how delicious it paired with the mashed potatoes and mushroom sides that I had ordered. My husband's filet was delicious and the lobster was extremely fresh and served with warm, melted butter. We enjoyed our dinner so much that we went back for lunch for the clam chowder in a bread bowl. Again, our meals did not disappoint. The bread practically melted in our mouths and the clam chowder was also fantastic. I definitely recommend this restaurant! read more

4 stars for the food and 1star less due to the receptionist's poor professionalism. My friend booked us a table on a Friday evening in this bustling place, it was my first visit to the place. We both were 15mins late (Friday after work, go figure!). Anyway, I got to the place sooner and referred to my friend's reservation by her name and nickname as I know she does sometimes, and they told me her reservation doesn't exist so I stepped outside and waited for my friend who came in a couple of minutes later. Oh and out of the blue now they could find the reservation, but had to wait a couple more minutes before we were seated- which is perfectly fine and understandable. The situation was not grave but not a happy one. It definitely shaped my opinion on the level of professionalism there. read more

The food here is excellent. I got the sea bass and my companions got the shrimp and crab risotto. We had the waiter bring and assortment of oysters to the table along with scallops wrapped in bacon. Delicious! However the thing that topped off the night was the table side creme brûlée. The chef comes out to your table with creme brûlée in one hand and a blow torch in the other. He melts the sugar to a crispy golden brown and presents his work of art with fresh fruit on top. Not only is it delicious but it's a great crowd pleaser too! Fantastic night! read more

Great meal, service, and atmosphere! Clam chowder and lobster ravioli for appetizers was a fantastic start and then the crab haddock for our main meal just put it over the top. We went here Saturday night to celebrate our anniversary. We had reservations for 5:45. We sat down and we were greeted by our waiter who was really great. We both decided on the Seafood Fra Diavolo, also a recommendation from our waiter. It was absolutely amazing. We have never been here before but we will definitely come back! So many choices in Boston and so glad we found this place. Have enjoyed great food on our trip but Atlantic Fish took the top spot. So good in fact that we ate dinner here twice within 3 days. The clam chowder was beyond our hopes, the bread was fresh, warm, and delicious. Blackened Halibut, Seafood Diavolo, Hand Cut Fries, and Lobster Risotto were sensational. Our servers Bobby (first visit) and Kristen (2nd visit) went above and beyond giving us memorable evenings and impeccable service.
