Food was very good, impeccable service and social distancing maintained. We ordered lots fo fresh catch sea food options and lobster raviolis that were fantastic. Oysters as well. Drinks were good but really overpriced - $28 for a glass of Pinot Grigio is a lot! Other than that a good option and it's location in Newberry street is perfect. Recommend it highly read more

Always busy, and always good food, too. I've eaten at AF a number of times and the food is fresh, nicely presented, solid quality. However, two things about the place irk me and probably always will: one, they overbook the restaurant capacity, meaning, they give out more reservations than they can actually seat on time. Every single time I have eaten there over the past 4+ years, and that is with a reservation, we have had to wait 15 to 30 minutes beyond the reservation time to be seated. This has been true for years. If you are in the hospitality industry, this is not a chronic problem unless you let it be one. Second, there is a laughably small space for guests with reservations to wait for a ready table during that 15-30 minute unnecessary delay. Again, I saw 8 people jammed into a space for 3 and overflow onto all the nearby walkways and crowd the front door, making it a nightmare for staff delivering food. I go to AF despite these shortcomings, but if it is your first time dining there, be aware of these issues. read more

There are a lot of solid choices along Boylston if you are at a conference at Hynes center. I chose Atlantic Fish Co because of their diverse seafood menu. I ordered lobster bisque as an appetizer (yum) and then fish and chips for the main dish. Also ordered raspberry lemonade to drink. Overall food quality was excellent and service was good. Only complaints that this is very pricey for a lunch menu ($40 for the above) and their drink refills are not free. read more

This is the place for a full lobster dinner. I had a two pounder (market price around $55) and opted to deshell him myself. He was super fresh and served with the best ear of corn I have had in years. I opted to swap out potato for roasted root veggies (they were served hash style and a little boring). The service was good. The servers were parading around an enormous live lobster which brought home the majesty of these beasts. I think a lobster bib is available on request. Good times. read more

Went to Atlantic Fish on Saturday 2/13/2021 for my daughters 25th birthday. We called for a reservation 2 weeks in advance for a party of 7. They had informed me that I would need 2 tables due to the covid 19 pandemic Anyway when we got there, the manager that was on brought us to the tables and rudely turned to us with his accent we needed to separate due cdc regulations which we already knew about. Im not sure what his problem was but he does not need to be in this position and speak so disrespectful to guests. On another note we had Nicholas as our waiter who was very good! Food was great! read more

One of my best experience for seafood. I was looking for a lobster bake the first night in Boston. Located on the beautiful Boylston Street near the Trinity Church. The lobster was delicious. The service was top tier. The waiter was patient to tell us about wines and the menu. He even showed us how to peel the clam in case we had sand in our mouth. The environment was lively with a bar. Definitely worth visiting if you are visiting Boston for the first time. Reservation is advised because it is really busy in the evening. read more

A must for a visit to the Back Bay! I completely went all out on my visit here. It was such a warm night that we asked for a patio seat for dinner. We had to wait almost an hour so I highly recommend making reservations. After waiting we got seated at a perfect table that was facing the street. Our server was so helpful with her recommendations and very patient with all of our first-timer questions. We ordered sangrias and Riesling both of which were delicious. The appetizers were also great-the Brussels sprouts, delicious lobster roll, clam chowder, and crab dip. Already pretty full, I ordered the seafood pasta which was ok. It definitely had a ton of seafood in it, but the sauce could've been more flavorful. My creme brûlée dessert was great. I ate way too much but it was worth it. Loved the nautical interior design too. read more

I got take out, seafood was fresh. The also prepped the door quickly and it was packaged well. Seafood Fra diablo was perfect balance of flavor and I would highly recommend. It had a kick to it which is great for cold days. The lobster roll was average. I probably wouldn't get it again as it was too buttery for me. read more

It's a 100 dollar meal for 4 people but totally worth it. We ordered a few dishes but the ones that stood out were the lobster ravioli and lobster fried rice. The service was good and very nice ambiance. read more

I am a big fan of seafood and I know good seafood when I taste it! In Boston this is one of the best locations for seafood! not only is the location itself great and convenient but the food is fantastic! It's very fresh and the service is great as well and the staff is kind The bacon wrapped scallops and fish and chips in my opinion is the 2 best dishes here! It would be wise to make a reservation before going because they do book up pretty fast! Enjoy!! read more

This place is terrible, had to send the steamers back as it was so gritty I sanded my teeth down, then caesar salad, mediocre and then 20 minutes after salad to get my lobster, pass on this one next time! read more

Really amazing seafood restaurant in a town with a lot of great seafood. Try the clam chowder. Don't argue, order it. The lobster risotto was one of the most delicious dishes I have had in a while. Excellent varied menu. Bartender quite good. One of the better Manhattans I have had recently. Excellent varied wine list Superior service, server happy to give us advice, and it was spot on. read more

I went for lunch with my husband and two children. We each had lobster rolls, one warm and one hot. The hot one was very over cooked. Parts of the lobster were so hard they couldn't be eaten, but I was starving. The clam chowder I ordered was never delivered. However, our kids meal of broiled haddock was very good. We sat very close to the host stand and could hear and see when each table was sat. This is why I noticed a group of 3 African Americans arrive without a reservation. The male host told them no tables were available and it would be about a 30 min wait. They left. In the next 15 mins two tables of 2 and a table of 3 (races other than African American) were sat without reservations and without incident. I mentioned to one of the female host that I saw this and thought it seemed "odd". She agreed and said she would tell someone. I hope she did but I won't be going back. read more

We ordered calamari, lobster bisque and tuna tartar for appetizers which all were super duper delicious!! Oysters were so goooooood!!!! And of course main courses were amazing as well. Overall, very good. Probably could find the same dishes around for cheaper. Bacon wrapped scallops were good. Bacon was a bit burnt but the scallops saved the day. Only 5 on the plate though. Pan seared Sea Bass with the Lobster Ravioli was amazing. The sea bass was the star of the plate, as it was a generous portion and perfectly cooked! The lobster ravioli were good; however, I was expecting amazing based on the previous reviews I had read. I would rather have more bass! Dessert was excellent- peppermint ice cream cake. Perfect choice for a palate cleanser. Service was attentive and nice. read more

I have eaten at Atlantic Fish Company twice now. I would eat there more, but it is on the pricier side of things. But if you're craving high quality seafood in Boston, definitely go here! Compared to similarly priced seafood restaurants in the area, Atlantic Fish Co. stands out in both quality and quantity. Why say no to the best of both worlds? I've tried both the sea bass and lemon sole here, and both melt right in my mouth. I usually do not like oyster, but their oyster rockefeller appetizer was quite delectable! As I'm writing this review, I'm already planning my next outing there. Do try to make a reservation if you can, especially for weekends. The restaurant becomes quite busy for dinner, and it's difficult to get same-day reservations. If you still want to give it a last-minute shot, the bar is first-come first-served. read more

DO NOT ORDER A CAESAR! It tasted like sewage water!!!! It was the worst drink ever! Unsure was it the vodka used, but it was not a CAESAR! They probably had no idea how to make it. Finally, ONLY RESERVATIONS! We walked in around 6:30 and nothing was available, booked in for 8:45! So if you wanna eat here, please call and reserve! It's dim inside, good ambience for a date or a night out as a couple. There are televisions in there as well. There wasn't really a dress code, so jeans and shirt was fine. Okay, so even though the drink was bad, the food was actually pretty delicious! I would still recommend this restaurant if you want some seafood! The oysters were really fresh, the clam chowder bread bowl was only okay, not enough clam but a lot of veggies (if you want amazing clam chowder, go to Boston Chowda Co at Quincy Market), the lobster bisque wasn't too bad, our entrees were delicious!! Filet mignon was definitely medium rare as requested, surprisingly the mash potatoes were very flavourful, couldn't stop eating it. That wraps up my this review, I hope you have an better idea of whether to eat here or not! read more

I travel to Boston fairly often for work and I make sure to stop by very time I'm in town. I love every thing they do to seafood and will come back again and again. Last week I brought some friends to town celebrating a birthday and we made it a point to have lunch at Atlantic Fish Company. They were very happy with my recommendation. They had the lobster roll and I had the fried fish. It was just as good as the other times I visited. We had a great waitress at the bar who was helpful and recommended some great dishes. Next time I'm there I will be sure to be a little more adventurous with the menu and try the oysters because they looked amazing. This spot is top notch. read more

I'd say this would be my favorite seafood restaurant in Boston so far. Service is classic but you feel no intense here. Price is relatively high but every dish is so tasty. If you want the ideal seafood experience - for a pretty penny - look no further! Started off with 1/2 dozen oysters - personally I prefer sweeter west coast oysters but of course when you're in Boston you are pretty much forced into east coast oysters. The waiter was able to recommend a sweeter variety that turned out to be delicious! Then had a cup of lobster bisque that was literally out of this world. Perfect temperature where it didn't burn my mouth but didn't feel just warm. Rich and creamy texture. Best part? Enormous chunks of lobster claw in the soup. Then we split a lobster cocktail which I expected to be a few claws with cocktail sauce - turned out to be an entire lobster that had been cleaned for us with cocktail sauce and remoulade. Simply delicious. We also split the crab artichoke dip with had melted Gruyere cheese on it and was presented in a bread bowl. Thick cheesy dip with slightly burned cheese and huge chunks of crab meat. Sinful. We then split the shrimp scampi which had huge jumbo shrimp with al dente linguine and a delectable white wine garlic sauce and diced tomatoes. To cap it off we had a slice of key lime pie which was plenty large enough to split and had some blueberry compote on the plate. Everything was fantastic! This was my favorite seafood stop of our entire vacation! Aside from the food, the waiters were friendly, water glass always full, clean romantic atmosphere, cute patio seating and spotless bathrooms. Really can't say enough good things! read more

Obviously as a vegan I am not usually a fan of seafood restaurants but when my colleague wanted to try seafood at a conference in Boston I agreed to try this place for lunch. I was happy to see they had a vegan tomato soup that was clearly labeled vegan. I also got a delicious salad that had portabello mushrooms, roasted red peppers, pine nuts and a tasty vinaigrette that I ordered without goat cheese. I really appreciated that the waiter offered me oil and vinegar for the bread after realizing I was vegan from my order. While this restaurant definitely wouldn't be my first recommendation for vegans visiting Boston, it is a good place to go for a vegan traveling with people who want to try seafood. Overall I had a very nice lunch with the soup and salad and was really impressed by the service. read more

Fairly disappointing meal, aside from a pretty good spring roll app, the rest was very boring. Fish was over-cooked, scallops undercooked, but the main problem was everything was just blah. Spinach was just spinach, nothing else. Brussel sprouts were literally un-cooked, rock hard. "Roasted sweet potatoes" was a pile of brown mush. Service and location were good, but the meal was not. Would not return. read more

Given the upscale atmosphere and prices, the food here needs a lot of work. It's true that you have to be willing to pay the premium at a seafood place plopped in the middle of Back Bay (arguably the Times Square of Boston), but I wouldn't buy their oyster po' boy even if it were served elsewhere. The roll was borderline stale and styrofoam-like, the fried oysters were disappointedly soggy and flavorless, and the fries were overly salty and not very crispy. I will say, however, that I got some of the best service I've had in a very long time. My waiter had a busy night on his feet, but still made sure to check in a good number times without coming off as too hasty or annoying. His cheerful attitude really made a difference in my experience here. read more

I am happy our dine-out, and celebratory dinner was here with a wonderful server (Sudarsha). Hostess seated outside without wait and we were timely attended to by our great server, articulate, giving us a thorough intro to the selections. You can't go wrong with Maine Lobster (1¼, 2 or 3lb) and any catch of the day dishes (comes w/ two sides). Drinks were made well, the Sangria and Mule (just perfect, not overly sweet). Excellent all around, will try again. Thanks! read more

This is one of my favorite restaurants to eat at when I am in Boston for work. Therefore, I took my family to eat at it during our vacation. To our disgust, my wife and daughters spent the evening trying to avoid the mouse that kept running under our table as we sat outside. We quietly tried to tell the waitress of the problem, only to be dismissed with a comment that they don't control the mice outside. Shortly after we paid our bill and left. To our annoyance there was actually a dead mouse a few feet away from our table (I will spare you this pic) A few days I called the manager to notify them of the problem they have with rodents. I was told by her that they would look into it as well as our experience and call me back. Needless to say, I never heard back from her. If you are in the mood to spend a little money for a nice meal, I would head to another restaurant. read more

This should tell you how good it is.... we were there November 09, 2018 and I can't wait to go back. Its taken me this long to write a review because I thought I lost my receipt and wanted to recognize the waitress Carla because she was one of the best we've ever had. The food was outstanding and exceeded our expectations. The atmosphere was lively yet not too loud. The prices were very fair for what you receive.
