Great views and decent ambience. They don't take reservations, so I'd recommend sending someone down an hour before your ideal dining time to get on the list. Their system has a link that lets you know how many parties are ahead of you. During that time, you can shop downtown, have a cocktail at home, etc. Menu is very steak forward, but apps have a decent amount of shellfish. Crab cake app was delicious, but skip the shrimp cocktail-way too tough and chewy. The cocktail sauce is far too sweet. Steaks were OK. Cooked perfectly but just not our favorite. The charred onions were a hit with our group-definitely order some. Service was very attentive, but drinks can take a while. Wow! What an epicurean experience! No reservations but certainly worth the wait. We had a party of four and went after church services. Our order was botched and a $39 piece of Salmon was mistakenly put on top of a Lobster Salad. The server kindly admitted her mistake but left the Salmon on the salad and never returned and we assumed that they did not want it back and ate it. Subsequently, the manager John insisted we pay for it. I told him I wasn't going to pay for it. He said well you ate it so you should pay for it. I said we ate it because she left it on the table until we were done with all our other food. I told him fine. I'll pay for it, but I'm going to do a Yelp review to which he responded. I'm here on the vineyard for a week and we ran across this spot. It's so quaint and beautiful everything about it furniture the bars they have two bars and the service is impeccable. Our server was from New Orleans. His name is Cisco. . You could tell he was from New Orleans because of the service we had. He was so knowledgeable about all of the drinks I had an old-fashioned my girlfriend had a really nice white wine. I think it was a Pinot Grigio. I loved The Atlantic during a previous visit, which made this experience even more disappointing. From the moment we arrived, the service felt disorganized and unwelcoming. We were initially told the wait would be about 5 minutes, but when I checked back, we were suddenly told it would be 30 minutes with no explanation. When we were eventually seated, we were placed outside without anyone asking whether outdoor seating was what we preferred. Unfortunately, the experience continued to decline. Our server was extremely inattentive, and we waited over an hour for our food. When it finally arrived, parts of the meal were cold and undercooked. Throughout the evening, we watched the manager check on other tables repeatedly, but he never once stopped by ours. We eventually had to get his attention ourselves because we were freezing and asked if the heater could be adjusted. Rather than addressing the issue, he simply moved our table. What was most disappointing was the overall lack of attention and concern. Between the poor communication, unfriendly service, long wait, cold and undercooked food, and lack of management follow-through, this was one of the worst dining experiences I've had on Martha's Vineyard. I will not be returning, and I would not recommend The Atlantic to others. There are many wonderful restaurants on Martha's Vineyard that truly value their guests--your time and money are better spent elsewhere. read more

What a beautiful restaurant on the waterfront in Edgartown with a fantastic menu. So glad my MV frequent-visiting friend insisted we go here. We sat at the bar-style seating on the patio. Loved the dinghies heading back to the yachts after those visitors finished dinner in town. Our server was great! Made some great suggestions. We started with great cocktails. Mine was the dramatically presented Smoked Old Fashioned--poured before customers with a crystal decanter of smoke. I later had an excellent Chardonnay from Sonoma. My friend has been here a number of times and one of the bartenders knows her now! We shared the Bazaar Souk Salad. So good and different, with great feta, wine-braised chick peas, figs, mint, tomatoes, pistachios, and more. A plus and for me, such a unique salad. We also shared the rich veal Osso Buco with crispy cavatelli. The veal and sauce were amazing, although I would prefer without the cavatelli. They have a killer wine collection I don't know many places that have opus or lynch bages by the glass!!!that's just a taste of what they have in the cellar. The food is where they get a few dings. The charbroiled oysters are covered in Parmesan coating so you can't really tastes the oysters. The clam chowder had unincorporated balls of flour in from when they were making it. Could be one offs but as you see am not the only one that shares this experience. Went to Martha's Vineyard for July 4th weekend and we went to Atlantic for lunch after shopping and sightseeing. We sat at the bar and I have to say this is probably one of the best restaurants I've ever gone to. Ambiance, FOOD, DRINKS, and STAFF are all on point. I had the watermelon feta salad with grilled chicken and it was DELICIOUS!!!! Full on party for my mouth. Also tried the fried artichoke, smash burger, and lobster salad croissant sandwich. The food was so incredibly good and awesome for a light lunch! The staff were personable and answered all our questions. Very professional but FUN as well! Also had to try the "Moet Me Down" cocktail which was APEROL, ROCKEY'S BOTANICAL, ST. GERMAIN, LIME, MOET CHAMPAGNE SPLIT We went back after dinner for more drinks and the bartender made me a special cocktail which leads me to believe they want all their customers to feel special! The only negative is not enough bread to soak up the delicious broth! (I guess I could've asked for more.) For mains, we had the branzino and salmon, which were both perfectly cooked and quite flavorful. The sear on the salmon was just about perfect on the flesh side and the skin had a nice crisp. Nice day to visit the area, but got a little peck-ish. My friend suggested we stop in and check out the menu. He had been before and thought they did a good job. They offer indoor and outdoor seating and right on the dock, so you can see all the boats come and go. Nice way to pass the time. I liked the space. Something about the decor sat with me nicely. Maybe it was that traditional dock restaurant feel, not sure, but it was nice. The staff was friendly and attentive to our needs throughout the meal. They do a nice job and based on the wine list prices and menu items, a popular place for a higher end meal. A fishing boat arrived a little ways down the dock and started cutting up a fish right there. (See picture). I was amazed on how fast he did it, my friend did not care to watch while eating. The meals were nicely done. The watermelon salad with feta was the highlight. So yummy. We split that and man was it delicious. The crab cakes and lobster croissant hit the spot as a lite fare. We were surprised because they came across as a high end establishment, but served a meal with a big chip in the plate. I thought it might be part of the ambiance, but my friend thought it should have been caught before going out to service. Anyway, the meals were great and we enjoyed a nice relaxing meal in a great town. You would not think they were as big as they are from the front, so don't let the outside surprise you.
